Desperate attempt to get a Superman movie made fast while the Siegel lawsuit was going on leads to Zack Snyder getting the job, and the subsequent problems
Poor decision to let Injustice turn out the way it did (this was something that a competent company shouldn't have allowed through since it makes a flagship character look bad in the eyes of the public, even if it was an alternate version of Superman)
Ann Sarnoff-era WB pushing to deemphasize Superman in favor of Ezra Miller and Amber Heard, which turned out to be a bad choice
Animated Films go in a really bad direction from the New 52 reboot film onwards with a bad conclusion that basically says to the audience they wasted their time watching the previous ones.
Letting Bendis control the Superman books for as long as he did, and not fixing it soon enough.

Then they made Batman v Superman which also made plenty of money, but it was terrible and lead to the downfall of the DCEU
