>Vicky gets cut from the show afterwards

Who's bright idea was that?

people hated vicky so im not surprised

Who even is IN the show by the end anyways? Croker, Timmy, Cosmo/Wanda and i guess the new girl
I remember Timmy's dad but not his mom actually, that's fucking weird

Ah yes another reason to hate people.

Fairly Oddparents is interesting because it shows what happens when you get a zombie version of a show that wasn’t even good to begin with

Those plus Foop and Dark Laser. Catman of all characters made some few appearances, but he was voiced by Jeff Bennett instead of Adam West.

>Vicky finally realizing that Timmy has fairies
Shouldn't that in it by itself mean Timmy loses his fairies?

Also when Chester got Norm he actually tried to make the world a better place unlike Timmy.

Fuck Timmy

They all died

Attached: dsdksl.png (1074x86, 17.4K)

>and Dark Laser
Fucking, WHY? If they wanted space battles and shit so bad they had the green tentacle monster, use that

>Crocker
>Timmy's Dad
>no Trixie and Vicky
They should just be honest admit that they want the twitter memer audience and want to distance themselves from the porn

Should have ended after Season 5

>wasn’t even good to begin with

I urge you to get better bait.

seethe harder, FOP was always shit

>people hate an antagonist

Isn't Vicky the main reason Timmy has fairies in the first place?

>Vicky gets cut from the show afterwards
Nigga you better be-
Godamn it this is so bloody stupid.

Pretty much, yes.

never got it

At this point no one gave a shit. The creator wanted out and everyone under him wanted to stay on long enough to find something paying better. TLH was outperforming this show so budget cuts were all over the place, the animation downgrade was the obvious one but look at the VA cast too and you can see they downsized majorly. The show had a horrible rapport with its fanbase and was really out of touch with them it seems too

I can guarantee you more people gave a shit about Veronica getting an episode than someone like Mr. Bickles but who do you think got multiple and who do you think got none in later season? It wasn't idiocy or ignorance it was sabotage.

The most retarded thing they did was abandoning Anti-Cosmo and Anti-Wanda when Foop was born. They literally only interacted with Foop in his debut episode and disappeared after.

good thing they made it better in Fairly Odder by having her an agent of Crocker

Wait, how did Vicky knowing not cause Timmy to lose his fairies?

>Cosmo and Wanda are loving parents to Poof
>Anti-Cosmo and Anti-Wanda bail on Foop immediately
it tracks at least

They should have kept Tootie's original design.

Or used Princess Mandie in more than 5(?) episodes.

>we don't have idea what to do with these characters
>but we do know what to do with diet Randy Marsh, Crocker, legally distinct Darth Vader and Poof BUT EVIL
I'm so glad this show choked on its vomit and died

This thread almost makes me want to go searching for my copy of Breakin' Da Rules.

>diet Randy Marsh
*Latino dub*

>people hated vicky so im not surprised
Why do I feel like the main people that would have hated her are the trauma factory types that have more baggage than an airport?
>diet Randy Marsh, Crocker, legally distinct Darth Vader and Poof BUT EVIL
>diet Randy Marsh
kek. Why the fuck did they think notVader was a good idea beyond a one shot.

I was thinking the same thing. Tootie we had in recent was not that bad looking.

Should have done what Spongebob is doing and just mix and match various characters, like how Mr. Krabs and Larry had an episode together, or Squidward and Pearl.

Go to bed, there's other worse shows.

they kind of bring it back in the later seasons

Loud House didn't come until months after the last seven episode renewal of the show. The switch to Flash out of budget and/or time constraints was gonna happen no matter how well TLH did. Ultimately, all TLH did was, by giving the Sponge a run for its money more than FOP did by this point, give Nick the greenlight to permanently cancel FOP.

If I were to pinpoint the point that budget cuts began affecting the show, it would be around the seventh season. The sixth season had recurring guest celebrities Leno, Stein, and West reprising their roles plus Wishology which featured a heavy infusion of CG and a few new guest actors such as the band KISS, Brendan Fraser, and Gary Anthony Sturgis. After that, true celebrity voice actors disappeared besides Leno coming back for Timmy's Secret Wish and even a few of the non-celebrity VAs began leaving the show. Also, I'm pretty sure Wishology was the last major use of 3DCG in the show.

Ditto. The amount of laziness to not be able to make up anything for the majority of your secondary cast is weird.

What was the exact moment this show began to nosedive?

Season 9 with Sparky.
Poof is fine and there are good episodes post-2006, but Sparky is the point of no return.

I still can't figure out how this got greenlit.
>Okay so we'll introduce a dog! We could do so many cool things with a dog like...umm...uhh...
like wtf were they thinking a dog would add to the show?

>an episode where Timmy wishes Francis wasn't a bully, but he becomes annoyed with his friendlier personality
>an episode where Crocker becomes a shareholder of Pixies Inc.
>an episode where the Anti-Fairies create a whole-ass Anti-EARTH, with anti-versions of Timmy, his parents, and the other humans
>another episode that retells a classic Season 1 episode from another side character's point of view like pic related
>an episode where Elmer's boil actually succeeds in taking over the world
>Crimson Chin episode that makes fun of the MCU or something
>an episode where Chester and AJ find out that Timmy has fairy godparents
>instead of creating a brand-new girl character for no reason, make Season 9 be about Tootie sharing Cosmo and Wanda with Timmy
>that scrapped theatrical movie idea where Timmy wishes that EVERY kid had fairy godparents, but Jorgen is assigned to Vicky and shit goes south
By god, they could've tried.

Wishology was a ratings flop (by FOP's standard at the time) and I feel like a lot of the bad of the later seasons is linked to that. They never again attempted anything of that magnitude. No more big movies, all they did from now on was "if we need buzz, let's create a new character".

season 6 without a shadow of the colossus of a doubt
>had a "soft reboot" feel from the get go
>buttons and mindy plots
>blowing the budget on pitiful guest celebrities (about how much of brenden frasier's monthly alimony was he able to pay off with wishology money? 65%?) and literal whos from the 2008 olympics
>the start of the "crocker / dad / dark laser" takeover
>they forgot tootie was vicky's little sister (they also fucked up her design and rolled back her romantic progress since channel chasers)
>wishology was a flop and a mess
>no one online discussed the show positively anymore at this point. just trying to get the sherwood guy to come back and shipping war stuff
>kevin sullivan and other bad TLH writers made their bones in this season

Attached: FK2LaxfUcAQMAfB.jpg (1500x1500, 118.27K)

>>buttons and mindy plots
You reminded me of that episode where Timmy loses Poof while Cosmo and Wanda are away, goes to fucking hell and back to find him, and apologizes to Wanda, who throws him into an alligator pit.
Fuck that shit.

Was Wishology the longest single story told in Western Animation? its basically a three hour movie

>Vicky gets cut from the show afterwards
Why anyone thought that was a good idea is beyond me. I mean, she's only the reason the entire premise of the show even happens!

Somewhere along the line the writers changed it to only penalize the kid if they themselves goof, or if thier outed on a massive scale.

this

I think this is one of the reasons the show died, when you flesh out your world and cast the show can basically run on autopilot like the Simpsons has. Phasing out dozens of characters in favor of like 6 makes the show a lot more repetitive

>an episode where Timmy wishes Francis wasn't a bully, but he becomes annoyed with his friendlier personality
Funnily, that is the plot of a Nick Magazine comic written by S3-6 series writer Scott Fellows.
fairlyoddparents.fandom.com/wiki/Friendly_Francis

I would have to disagree on a lot of these assessments.

>had a "soft reboot" feel from the get go
Besides Poof's introduction and much of the human supporting cast being sidelined for Fairy family and Fairy World antics, I would say S6 mostly felt like the same old FOP as before. Now S9 and its constant retcons, on the other hand, definitely felt like a soft reboot.
>buttons and mindy plots
Two at most and one not ending the traditional Buttons and Mindy way.
>the start of the "crocker / dad / dark laser" takeover
For Dark Laser and Dad, yes (even if Dad is still nowhere near as omnipresent as he gets the following season) but Crocker only had two spotlight episodes (plus a supporting role in Wishology) in season 6, considerably less that his at least five major appearance the previous season. It wasn't until S7 that persistent Crocker spam began.
>kevin sullivan and other bad TLH writers made their bones in this season
The only TLH writer who also wroteFOP S6 was Sullivan (who, by the way, began writing at the tail end of the pre-Poof era). In fact, season 6 was the last season where much of the writing was done by major writers of the classic era. Specifically, most of the writing was done by Hartman, Fellows, and Sullivan.

Season 6, while definitely starting many of the issues that plagued the show latter on, could've simply been a more Fairy focused season to celebrate Poof's birth had the writers been smarter and not given the writing keys to a team seemingly headed by Ray DeLaurentis (co-creator and co-writer of the Bubsy pilot, creator of Shaggy and Scooby Get a Clue) after S6.

Everytime they added a new character season 8 and later, a bunch of others dissappear or are reduced to non speaking background roles. Wasted storyline of having new recurring characters interacting with old ones (Like one focused Chloe and AJ for example).

She's an antagonist, she's not meant to be likes, lol

>Two at most and one not ending the traditional Buttons and Mindy way.

Wasn't season 6 like 10 full episodes? So that is a tenth of the season even then.
And it ended like described.. MUCH shittier.

>Why the fuck did they think notVader was a good idea beyond a one shot.

After his fall out with Marmel, Hartman's ego got so huge that no one working him could nor would dare tell him his jokes aren't funny. That is pretty much what sums up 99% of the problems. The only other input he listened to came from above, in the form of "Add a new character", which only made matters worse. Hartman was so far in his own illusory superiority and surrounded by yes men so naturally the result was a shitty cartoon.

Season 5 is where the decline began I'd argue, I want to say around there some early key staff like the art director and one of the longer-term writers left, but it didn't really start to tank until around Wishology. I caught the movie(s) on TV somewhat recently and they're just really, really bad, way worse than I remember. Compared to Abra-Catastrophe, the art direction and animation is really lacking, not to mention it feeling pretty divorced from a lot of the personal conflicts Timmy had in the previous specials (apart from the musical, I guess). Although, the flash animated episodes are almost fun to watch just because of how terrible they are, Butch must've had the writers and artists at gunpoint during production because I sincerely doubt any sapient human would be able to make those episodes with sincerity.

yeah, wishology for me was where the magic was lost... stuff like revealing the secret or hooking up with the hot chick or the whole "chosen one" spiel felt like a bad wrap up fanfiction. you can tell they were trying to capture that abra catastrophe or channel chasers magic right from the beginning and it felt like a hollow attempt... basically the last jedi of fop movies... which is fitting because they used that awful darth vader parody a lot too.

The third Jimmy Neutron crossover was intended to be the show's finale, but Nick renewed it at the last minute.

>Introduce 3rd party Human faction in transformers
>Villain is sort of cool and a decent range of success
>Have him get put into Breakdown’s body on life support
>Has one episode that ends with him getting dragged off to be tortured by Knockout
>Exists as a plot device for the Zombie Decepticon episode and gets killed off
Then again, Prime as a whole had a habit of blowing it’s load before it could actually do anything with it’s neat ideas.

shut up dark laser was cool

>diet Randy Marsh, bastardized crocker, legally distinct Darth Vader and G-rated Stewie Griffin
ftfy

poof's birth
sure the episodes started declining before then but poof sent it down a true nosedive

At least Neutron died with dignity.

Jimmy Neutron's 3rd season getting finished in 2003 and the 4th season already being in development hell didn't help

How do you make a bunch of characters and then decide that you hate them all? I know some VA's retired I think but just hire sound alikes. All these damn Nick shows are run by brain dead retards I swear it's like a curse. The longer you work with Nick the more iq you lose.

>since Vicky gets cut from the show afterwards
How the fuck do you even have fop without Vicky?

I think they just forgot what she looked like. She's even slightly taller with slightly smaller head compared to older seasons.
