Dunno, can you recollect anything from before you made this thread? If you provide clues maybe we'll be able to help you remember what you watched.

I watched Gummo. It's about fucked up kids killing cats in a fucked up town ravaged by a tornado. The movie felt exploitative and I'm not sure what the movie was trying to portray.

It was a fucking shit movie.

It was trying to portray life in bumfuck nowhere usa

"art"

No wonder Trump is the president

it's how trump supporting flyovers live.

What was up with the kid in a bunny hat?

I grew up in a country town in Australia so I already knew fucked up things existed.

>feral cats having babies they can't care for adequately due to external environmental circumstances
>babies of feral cats ultimately perish

>white trash having babies they can't care for adequately due to external environmental circumstances
>babies of white trash ultimately perish

It's like poetry, it rhymes.

IIRC it’s suppose to showcase a non-romanticized view of America, wherein what it entails for the poor and basically retarded.

I was getting Napoleon Dynamite vibes while watching Gummo.

Recommend me some american indie cinema pls. No superheroes, no FBI/CIA agents, no one-man-armies, no Disney crap. Just movies about regular middle- or low-class americans, movies like Clerks, Gummo, Kids etc.

Probably not exactly what you're looking for but Take Shelter might be up your alley. I haven't seen American Movie, but that was the first thing that popped in my head for some reason. It's a documentary though.

you are watching America when the movie is not set on California or New York

King of the hill is about a slightly red neck but decent and hard working man's man dad trying to raise his soft and sensitive son and realising his ideas arent always right and growing as a person himself while trying to teach his son about life.

It perfectly fits what he was asking about.

Why would anyone be shilling a long discontinued show anyway?

What's eating Gilbert Grape
