It doesn't always have anything to do with standards, attraction is something that's either there or it's not.
I've been very attracted to women that most people would consider below average (think overweight with pretty bad acne) and not at all attracted to women who most people would consider very attractive.
There's a difference between rejecting people out of hand if they fail to meet up to a certain set of unreasonably high standards, and giving someone a genuine try and just not finding any chemistry.
Attraction is mysterious and it's unreasonable to hold people accountable for something beyond their control, as long as they keep an open mind.

id say ultimately its about recognition of struggle that hopefully can lead to a less shitty existence. however bullshitters like "femcels" attempt to claim the same obstacles when they are proven not to face them. women are not utterly disposable like men are, the standards are lower for them.

What I'm getting at here is you can't control whether you feel the passion or not, all you can control is whether you choose to assent to it. I.e. the basic feeling of attraction is beyond you, but you can act or not act on it in ways that can be harmful or beneficial.
For example, you can be attracted to the wrong person and make a rational choice to not pursue that relationship. I see little value in pursuing a relationship with someone you're not attracted to, because it's bound to fail eventually and likely to hurt both you and them more than if you had just broken it off immediately.

That's where you are wrong, everyone is disposable.
