How do people still fall for cults in this day and age? Even Scientology is recognised as an actual religion
Asher Sullivan
cult members are the ultimate cucks
they let their leader fuck their wives and daughters
Samuel Rivera
humans are an easily manipulated species
Leo Garcia
dnc
John Wright
All religions are cults though. You'd have to be a literal child to still believe in santa christ
Cameron Garcia
These cults tend to deploy a lot of systems that actually work, for one thing. They generally tend to derive to some degree on the guru system more-or-less drawing from some eastern philosophy or maybe some western mystical doctrine, and both have a lot of sets of practices and thought models that can work wonders. Package all this with a charismatic, reassuring father figure or strong leader type and it can be much more magnetic than you'd think, especially since it in many ways 'works'.
Daniel Rodriguez
yeah imagine haha
Caleb Allen
Sort of, although what cult in this sense usually entails is more when it centers around a charismatic personality cult in the form of an actual present person or their organization who holds real sway over your lifestyle. And actually even that influence isn't necessarily bad, all people in some way or another subscribe to some immaterial virality, it's a fundamental aspect of our existence. It's more a matter that you haven't become caught up in a malignant or false one. And who's to say maybe one of them isn't in fact coming from some true source?
Connor Nelson
Only if you mentally masturbate their ego and offer them riches.
Elijah Thomas
Is that Bernie? If so, you gotta hand it to him. He knows how to manipulate idiots.
Ian Bell
I used to think this too. But is right. If you've ever been to a really good metal concert where the band has really worked up the crowd, and you fall into that mob mentality, it's pretty easy to see how a particularly clever and charismatic individual could form a cult around himself.
Benjamin Russell
this old FUCK is getting hot 20 year old pussy and you're not
Carson Lee
people are stupid. here you are wasting your youth arguining with people on social media even though you "know" its a waste of time.
Nicholas Williams
SHUT UP PLEASE FOR FUCKS SAKE
Xavier Lee
Honestly I will never understand the sentiment of someone wondering how humans can do something irrational or get caught up in manias or mob mentalities, let alone exhibit fundamentally religious impulses. Or some nonsense about we're supposed to be 'modern' now. We're the same we've always been - irrational, emotional, romantic, religious, often selfish.
Gosh I detest rationalism.
Lucas Fisher
here's reddit to the rescue
Josiah Wood
You should look up Father Yod. He had a whole harem of beautiful hippie wives, some of them teenagers.
Julian Brooks
Based pajeet.
Colton Scott
Split Image (1982)
Liam Jackson
can you imagine spending your time on fucking a whore for free even in your 70s
men really never stop being coomers, no wonder society is dying
Adam Kelly
They live in this bubble where they are fed specific information over and over to think a certain way and people will give them easy answers to nuanced problems. Just look at reddit politics. Most leftists are cultists but just don't want to admit it.
Zachary Harris
Oh no someone had sex, society is over!
Fun fact - I've had sex with cute girls myself. Feels good, man.
Benjamin Jackson
all this because women love being told what to do by midwit coomers and ofc women love to ear that people should partake in a universal orgy because at the end of the day, ogd is love.
Blake Lee
The Source Family (2012) is fantastic. The soundtrack is also magic.
Joshua Garcia
is this a good movie?
Isaiah Reyes
which cult would Yea Forums have joined, the children of god?
Camden Rivera
Mandy
Kino to the highest degree
Andrew Carter
Cast him
Dominic Bennett
Ya Ho Wha 13/Father Yod are pretty crazy. I'm into a lot of weird obscure psych music from the 60's so listen to them and watched that doc. Their worship services were just taking a bunch of drugs on going on really long crazy acid jams followed by massive orgies.
Way cooler hippie cult then Manson.
William Hill
You probably don't think youre posting on a cult board as we speak.
Michael Long
Sound of my Voice (same people behind The OA).
David Thompson
are they all eating poison apples and are about to puke up blood and guts and thats why the trash bag is there?

"Cult" mentality is part of the human culture. It doesn't have to be about religion or abusing people. Wherever a society exists about anything a cult mentality is very likely to be there.
youtube.com
This video explains it very well.
Blake Price
Is that Osho?
Isaiah Rodriguez

People are fucking stupid. Have you never met people before? I only have an IQ of 130 and I feel completely alone in the world. I can't imagine what 160IQfags feel like. I bet we're all like shit-flinging monkeys to them.
Cameron Allen
The Passion of the Christ.
Cooper Richardson
Martha Marcy May Marlene is fantastic, though not specifically about a cult leader. It's about a woman who leaves a cult and tries to adjust back to normal life and has some flashbacks to what she went through in the cult. Really great acting by the best Olsen sister.
Ethan Davis
Bojack died for our depressions?
Asher Hill
I don't know about that. I've been sad, lonely and unfulfilled my entire life and I've never fell for any cult or cult-like behavior. I think those factors might play a part, but your environment and your general level of skepticism are probably more important.
Hudson White
user, Scientology is only recognized as a religion because they sued the IRS and every individual staff member at the same time. The IRS didn't have the money or time to fight off something so crippling so they gave Scientology tax-free status in exchange for them fucking off.
Jace Brown
fuck i hated this movie
Dylan Fisher
You fell for the
>tfw too intelligent
meme.
You would have fallen for cults if you were retarded.
Elijah Foster
this
Brayden Stewart
147 here. There's a point of diminishing returns regarding how sophisticated we behave, which I would guess tops out at around 120 or so. We still act like typical hominids, we're just better at pattern recognition and can solve problems more quickly.
Isaac Clark
maybe the only artist worse than rob liefeld.
Logan Cox
I’m somewhere between 120-130. I don’t feel dumb when I engage in small talk with people smarter than me, but it’s immediately clear when I say something wrong. They don’t even have to say anything, I can just see that I’ve made a mistake. It’s kind of odd.
Anthony Jackson
They specifically target people who feel hopeless in life, who are loners, outcasts, depressed. It is easier for those types to get suckered into a cult when they are promised a tight knit community to be apart of and also part of something greater.
Caleb Ross
Yea Forums has a deeply rooted cult mentality. Just look at all the retarded sneed posters.
Evan Turner
Is the korean unification church a cult?
Sebastian Ward
Not Yea Forums related but The cult in Dead Rising was so fucking creepy
Cooper Collins
Heaven's Gate probably. They were all Star Trek nerds
Lucas Taylor
People, at their core, want a strong leader figure and need to be told what to do. Sure there are outliers, but most people are sheep who just want to be part of something bigger, where they don't have to think much.
It's why totalitarian societies will always exist and the whole "people want to be free" thing is mostly bullshit. They just need the illusion of freedom and strong men with leadership qualities will always have lots to gain in this world.
Xavier Gutierrez
Hm. Must be boring and pointless.
Jackson Martinez
pure kino

I've so far only met a single person that I could tell was smarter than me through conversation.
It is interesting when you make that realization that they are operating at a level above yours.
Michael Reed
Ask people who believe in global warming.
Noah Gomez
Holy Hell
Kumaré
Jackson Murphy
Can you stop with these pathetic generalizations? I was alone since I left High School, and look - no cult! Am I, like, Super Saiyan now? Doubt it.
People join cults because these particular people are dumb, walking garbage. Stop trying to claim humanity as a whole is stupid.
Chase Fisher
yes, it is sometimes difficult. a strange combo of arrogance and insecurity.
xunny
Charles Clark
>Am I, like,
This needs to be put to a stop
Hunter Cooper
>we're all like shit-flinging monkeys to them
Except the jews. You know nothing about jews, 130fag.
t. 164IQ
Nicholas Turner
An Inconvenient Truth
Aaron Jenkins
do you have the webm of this pic, smiling?
Robert Robinson
My IQ is 171. The British and European monarchy still rule the world, and the individuals amongst the Ashkenazi Jews who are on the right side of the bell curve are their most trusted viziers, so to speak.
Lucas Campbell
very much this, yeah. the point with all this things is to humiliate you and to collect footage to be able to blackmale you if you ever dare leave the cult.
That's exactly why sex-cults are so persistent in the first place, They attract weak personalities, molest them under peer-pressure and use this to keep them obeying.
Nicholas Edwards
Nice high verbal IQ you got there and extremely low spatial reasoning. Why do you faggots suck dick at architecture so much? Why do all your inventors have to steal ideas from all white geniuses? Why do all your better thinkers always have to be mixed with European whites? It's almost like you need us or something
Jacob Martinez
>Israel is an advanced "ethnostate" and STILL is at 94 avg IQ
lmao
Alexander Long
and my !O is 185 and that's why I am on Yea Forums
Asher Martin
Isnt the OA that show where they stop a school shooter by dancing?
Justin Sanchez
do you IQ comparing fags even KNOW what the IQ actually measures?
Brayden Ross
bullshit
Dylan Nelson
Thanks for coming, but you have to go back.
Carter Cox
intelligence qoints
Owen Rogers
Technically it's a good way to predict for a lot of things.
Parker Hill
If you're going to tell us that it's "just" pattern recognition, fucking save it. Your mind's ability to discern patterns is literally a measure of your cognitive function. You'd know that if you weren't a 85iq pleb.
Thomas Butler
>tfw 117 and retarded
Liam Lopez
Are you talking about cult films?
Aiden Smith
>the absolute state of puerto rico
Jacob Robinson
Sounds like a slightly gayer Grateful Dead tour. By the way, any of you permavirgins out there go to a hippie festival, hippie sluts throw out pussy like crazy. Gotten laid by girls with dreadlocks who didn't have a Dad every year since Grassroots 2002.
Jack Diaz
>be me
>smarter than everyone in this thread
Go ahead and try to test me, I'll obliterate all of you intellectually.
Dylan Lopez
Leo Reed
Absolutelly this.
Bentley Thomas
but in which context?
depends.
the idea, and what it's designed for, was to compare the learning success of children and young adults. so take a standard test and give them to students of different ages, origines etc.
then you know the average 12 yo's abilities as compared to the average 18 yo abilities. ech have their own mean, that is IQ 100.
being below that implies you know less than your age-group, being above means you're ahead.
now, jumping back a couple of 100 years in time when mixed age classes where very common and students of different backgrounds and knowledge had t to be schooled in one class.
These test had their use back then to help the teacher spot problems and teach them efficiently.
Ok, in the present, those tests ususally aren't needed any more at school, because the students are basically forced to go to school regularly, so their abilities are already well documented.
where is the test in use? the army introduced them. because they notices that school grades cannot be trusted on the lowe end when it comes to compare very uneducated people.
so a statement like country XY has on average a lower IQ than country AB is pointless when you don't make a statement on what kind of knowledge the test has been performed.
going to a savage country like Africa and measuring the IQ of a native tribe includes questions about modern math must result in a low IQ,
I am pretty sure I have super low IQ in French and a below 100 IQ in English (not a native speaker as you must have noticed by now)
Adam Watson
>depends
tl;dr
Andrew Brooks
you have a low IQ in reading then
Landon Edwards
>Belgium higher than France
dropped
Christian Ramirez
t. theological and historical brainlet
cringe. graduate high school before you give us your opinion
Jace Moore
I actually just read it and the post was retarded.

Mason Cooper
just that it pretty much nailed it accuratly
Jayden Peterson
>Your mind's ability to discern patterns is literally a measure of your cognitive function. You'd know that if you weren't a 85iq pleb.
if it was this, high iq people would not be sad
Thomas Brown
not at all
Kayden Sullivan
Jeremiah Baker

>Manson

>Aravindan Balakrishnan
>Osho
>etc.
Can someone explain or is it just a coincidence?
Logan Walker
The main point of scientology is for goys in hollywood to be able to network with other non jews
Samuel Jackson
based
Isaac Green
It’s not a coincidence, anything that could be considered against society while still being collectivist is usually a big part of cults. They encouraged people to donate their life savings through espousing some sort of utopian socialism or anarcho communism with the donations being the “bedrock” of the movement while much of the money was funelled to the leaders instead.
Asher Smith
The Cullens are kind of a cult if you think about it
Nathaniel Turner
I also noticed there was a very strong pressure to conform unquestioningly and the ever present threat of snitches/informants who'd throw you to the wolves if you committed wrong think. I don't like getting political, but I'm noticing all these red flags more increasingly in Western society at large.
Jackson Wilson
Easton Campbell
What's not to get?
Nathan Morris
I think it's people that feel like they're missing something want to feel like they're apart of something big. That and just lonely and broken people that are weak minded and seeking fulfillment, falling for very charismatic people.
Nolan James
>How do people still fall for cults in this day and age? Even Scientology is recognised as an actual religion
Lucas Martin
does Mandy count?
