This series is now conglomerating all the plot points together and it took awhile to get here. Gus, Nacho, Mike, Jimmy turning to Saul, Kim turning from her feel good lawyer to giving into Jimmy's antics which will elad to her death/arrest etc. It's all focusing into one singular point now. The plots aren't thin at all.

Very much agree, this is the most the show has felt interconnected since the Saul and Mike antics in season 1. It feels great that all the buildup has brought us back to a cohesive narrative.

Good summary

BCS is an extremely good compliment to Breaking Bad. If it was trying to be a carbon copy it wouldn't be nearly as good. The fact that they are distinct enough from each other to both be entertaining yet have enough crossover to feel connected to one another is a testament to the writing. BCS has also avoided many of the prequel pitfalls which is another reason to appreciate it for what it is.

It's gonna be difficult for the showrunners to incorporate Hamlin back in to the show, I'm curious how he's gonna be used the rest of the series. Brainlet take. In fact, it was one of the best episodes in the entire series.
First off, the directing was stellar, but the script is so perfect, it’s like a polished gem.
From a long arch perspective, this is a setup episode to move the plot forward. We reintoduce Hank and Gomie/DEA/ Gud conflict. We set up Kim’s new conflict with S&C. We set up Jimmy’s path into the criminal world and how he will be tested. We show Mike in his last moments of humanity before losing himself completely.
All setups. Episodes like this, which start new “Acts” in a series are really hard to write because you have to get a feel that changes are coming in the distance while engaging the audience. GoT did a shitty job of these kinds of episodes, but this script is a masterwork in how everything is balanced. The details in dialogue are great. The symbol of the slowly disintegrating ice cream cone. That’s what we’re dealing with here.

Yeah, I think she even lied back in season 1 when she was applying for a job in the jew law firm and when trying to get the mesa verde deal - I think she both told them a sob story about her childhood.
