Yup...it’s going to suck
>>Jordan Peele
white ppl bad
>who would do that
>*cuts to white folks*
Looks like they're going the framing-the-hero route but I'm guessing the Candyman will look exactly like that main guy, so that's how they'll handle that. The original Candyman is such a unique little gem, this isn't going to do it any favors.
>no Tony Todd
>no Philip Glass
>no Princess Irulan
>no black girl best friend who was also Clarice's black girl best friend
>no 90s racial and aesthetic tone
I'll download it 6 months after it comes out.

Wow we're back to this all over again. So suspenseful.
>no tony Todd
He’s in it numb nuts
>clive barker
vs
>a nigger
The original Candyman sucked anyways, but I hoped they'd do something better than just "Candyman is a transferable condition".
>its just 4 hours of jordan documenting him picking up kids in his candy van
Zoomers leave.
you're gonna die soon mate
OH COOL A SMALL CAMEO, WHAT A GREAT USE OF HIS TALENTS AND PRESENCE
>A niche slasher who truly deserves another movie
>Roasties getting BTFO
>Yes, Jordan Peele
Looks cool.
With that header and punchline there's actual potential for something.
>all the niggers in the comments
>all deaths in the trailer are white people
>blacks conspicuously survive major attacks
That guy in the trailer is the baby from the first film, his mother is even in the trailer and it's the same actress.
Tony Todd is in it.
The original is massively overrated. Its okay at best. The only notable feature is its interesting premise and twist, but the twist fell short anyway.
Its just one of those niche flicks that Yea Forums autists attatch themselves to
Seriously, why is this a Jordan Peele reboot and not another movie with Tony Todd? Fucking thrash.
It's a sequel retard. The main character is the baby Virginia madsen saved from the fire.
you have to say it 5 times user
>sequel
>named just candyman
>with another actor playing the candyman
It's a soft-reboot, a la force awakens.
>sequel
The woman replaced the candyman as the killing urban legend in the original
What the fuck, Tony Todd isn't playing Candyman? That's like having someone other than Robert Englund play Freddy.
It's a Freddy's Revenge situation.
Tony Todd is playing Candyman, but a more spirit like Candyman that's posessing Yahya Abdul Mateen II
>We heard you were looking for Candyman, bitch.
They pretty ignored that in the originals sequels, and I expect them to do the same here. It was a dumb twist, and I'm OK with it being dropped.
SAY MY NAME
SAY MY NAME
I wouldn’t say it sucked but TONY Todd is the only really memorable thing in the movie
He was always B tier in terms of movie monsters
And there is an actress playing Helen Lyle (Virginia Madsen's character from the original) in the cast. I wonder what that's about.
A promo shot was released showing Ghost Helen all burnt up and wearing the white dress from the end of the original
It's a sequel, so it's pretty obvious that the main character is the baby that survived the bonfire from the first movie, now all grown up. Hence him feeling a connection with Candyman.
I was talking with a buddy and neither one of us could recall why a ghost from the 1700 had a pimp jacket from the 80s. What was the connection there?
Alternatively, why doesn't Candyman have a car? Like an old pontiac with blackened windows and red smoke that billows inside; that people say they can see roaming the streets.
>released 4 days ago
>30,000 views
confirmed flop
>1700
He died in the 1890's.
>Original is a layered horror masterpiece that never got its due. Often disparaged as "just another boogeyman slasher"
>Jordan Peele comes out with some ham-fisted, woke topical shit
>OMAIGAAAHDDD Jordan Peele is a genius! Look how deftly he tackles issues of race. He took a mediocre slasher and made something wonderful with it.
...
Oh no, why?
Yeah? Could you post that (I haven't been able to find it). That's fascination. Though curious and disapointing they didn't bring back Virginia Madsen. She was one of my favorite parts of the original, especially the way Bernard Rose had her literally hypnotized for her scenes with Candyman, creating that dreamlike effect.
it doesn't even sound like him
>female director
That's Yahya's voice
CANDYMAN
The story isn’t that amazing but the spooky urban gothic atmosphere more than makes up for it.
we hear you're looking for candyman bitch
I hate that fat, ugly fuck.
Ooh. Yikes. I can see that already. Too bad, because the original was incredibly atmospheric and touched on racial themes without getting heavy-handed. I bet the reviews won't even mention Clive Barker, except in passing, and the themes of the power of stories and the importance of being haunted that translated so well to the 1992 film.
Took me a minute to find it
Get out of this thread with that wickedness.
Thanks. Curious to see what they do with her.
>the protagonist is the bad guy portrayed sympathetically

Nigger are you the real candyman or just an autist on the internet? Believe me no one fucking cares whether its the 1700's or 1890
>layered horror masterpiece
lol calm down, it was dracula for nogs
>no one fucking cares whether its the 1700's or 1890
How can you say that, it's a difference of 100 years.
Can anyone make out what the guy says at 1:10? For some reason, I found that one of the most unsettling parts of the opening sequence, like it's some street preacher warning about evil or maybe just illustrating the dangers of this atmosphere by letting us hear a wild ramble.
I think it starts with "I don't give a damn"
>CANDYMAN
>CANDYMAN
>CANDYMAN
>CANDYMAN
BEETLEJUICE
>it was dracula for nogs
They don't give a damn about your black ass.
KISS MY BLACK ASS.
>CGI bees
seems like jordan peele is on the downward spiral get out was decent, us sucked hard, and this looks like it is going deeper down
Thatt's another lame thing I noticed. In the original, Tony Todd had real bees in his mouth and got stung 23 times.
>say candyman five times in the mirror
Isn't it supposed to be bloody mary three times in the mirror?
