ERW is kinda weird. She is super plain, but with the right makeup and hairdo she becomes a literal goddess. That scene from the S1 finale where William tells her she eventually found her back in Sweetwater and that she was “everything if not real”, they do this focus on her face looking back at him and I swear that’s the most beautiful thing I’ve seen in my entire life.

The premise was the question of consciousness and the dichotomy of the two creators, one who believed in it and one who did not. S2 tried to replicate that struggle with dolores vs Bernard, that's the story the writers are trying to hamfist you, but ultimately they came down hard on the side of Dolores/Hopkins and pissed away they're own premise with both the people books and the extreme future timeline where the MiB-construct is unable to make any other choice than the choices he did as a human being. The very premise of copying a human consciousness is used to disprove the concept of freewill, as when/if the new MiB-construct makes a different decision than old human MiB it's alive but not THE MiB, because lol books. They wrote themselves into a nihilistic ouroboros.

First season was interesting. As soon as the robots became invincible gods and the humans/Chinamen didn't immediately slap down the loss of their multi-trillion dollar PP&E and IP I kinda lost interest.

Now it seems like it's careened into "let's kill Nazis" nearly 100 years on because it's "timely" or whatever and it's making me sleepy.

Overall I can't say I enjoyed it but I'm open to revalue it, maybe watching them in a short time period instead of 2 episodes per week will help me follow it better

As much as I love some of the actors and there's still a couple of promising plotlines/themes to explore, the show went full retard in season 2 and I'm gonna skip the rest to avoid further disappointment. It's like they had a solid premise and general direction for most of the plotlines down mid-production, then someone barged in and injected it with gay. Now it's an abomination featuring some brilliant moments and performances in some scenes and yet most of it is just preposterous, laughable and disappointing at the same time. For shame, season 1 was truly kino. Have fun, if you're interested in seeing it spiral on, I guess.

By the time S1 ended, you could tell that all the narrative worth covering was done. Sure, they left some room for future stuff, but it obviously wasn't going to have any depth or meaning whatsoever.
