I posted in the last thread about how there's some vents sticking out of a random grassy lot near where I live, in an almost entirely developed area.
Here it is. I'm pretty sure the "Kohler" box is some sort of diesel generator, and there seems to be both an intake and outflow ventilators, not that I know shit about HVAC systems.

the kohler box is definitely a generator but most likely natural gas instead of diesel
yellow mushroom is an exhaust fan
other electrical box is a transformer
pipes on the left are air intakes the big one is breathing air and the smaller is for a furnace or other equipment

KHOLER roof top unit(3ton maybe) exhaust fan next to it. Fairly large MSB and panels behind it.

I suppose, I was under the impression that most shit pumps had at some above ground structure i.e. a building with a door. At least the rest of the ones in the area do. It's just odd that they didn't put the transformers and generator under a traditional pump house structure
The county where I live gets their water from treated river sources, not wells. Only private residences would have wells.

Thanks for the answer user. The more I think about it, the more it seems you're right. There's a big mall nearby with a bunch of other retail and restaurants that all went up around the same time. Seems likely that the land developer probably had to install one and just slapped a pump right there for as cheaply as they could and called it a day.

Figure it cost 50-60 grand for an in ground pool so you dig out a big pit, you can buy a prefabricated metal building for a couple thousand dollars and put that in there. Maybe reinforce the structure, then just fill in the rest of the hole. Then you'd just have to drill a well, get a septic tank.
