Whole point of cybermen is they're humans who kept medically adding parts to themselves to survive their environment until they lost what they truly were.

Generic tin men are generic tin men.

Is that fucking real? I don't care if they ruin what the Doctor has become but do they really have to go back and retcon shit?

>tfw you realise "the doctor" is literally her slave name

Attached: 1583021208303.png (451x416, 207K)

so eventually getting to the point of adding jetpacks really doesn't seem unreasonable, especially on the mondas ship, jetpacks improve chances of survival

>>first doctor was a black female child refugee
Sorry did you say something user?

Chris Chibnall is literally the only man alive who could upheave 57 years of established canon in 70 minutes yet still make it fucking boring.

>neelixfag is a /who/ser
Somehow, deep down I already knew that.

I havent watched this shit since the first woman episode (where i noped out), and this is seriously where it's at now?

The Doctor is now Time Lord Jesus and there are a potentially infinite number of pre Hartnell incarnations.

I love how The Doctor is this massive character writing-wise. He's being constantly developed and written by a multitude of different writers throughout 5 decades, and all of them mostly respected what the previous one wrote and improved upon that work. No one outright shat on it and said it didn't happen. Like another user said, it's prolly the biggest collaboratory writing project of our time.

And Chibnall's willing to throw all of it out the window, tell every single one of them to go fuck themselves, for a shitty run-of-the-mill up-and-down corridors finale.
Truly brilliant, truly brave.
Yes, I will kill him.

>We didn't know how lucky we were with Murray. Akinola was trying so hard this whole episode to make his new Cyberman theme work and it just doesn't.
Murray was over the top but at least you can reign in over the top and at least over the top works with the campy nature of Doctor Who.
youtube.com/watch?v=H5BfyzJm_zY
The Cybermen had a great motif and they had specific instruments for their appearance, but that's literally soundtrack making 101.
Akinola's is just fucking noise, annoying noise over garbage TV.

But it's not scary or interesting or using their concept in any way.
Compare barely functioning tenth planet style cybermen with broken voices and pipes sticking out of them to ironmen. Which is more interesting to you?

So when did Chibnall write this? Did he write it during Series 12 production or did he write this years ago as fanfiction after watching Brain of Morbius?

Still brings in millions of views, mate. It's alive and kicking, as much as you hate that fact and it will probably still be going strong for another 10 years at the minimum.

What to I choose to cleanse my pallet? Give me some suggestions please

Attached: bf.jpg (1157x873, 415K)

Who did it better?

It'll keep going for exactly 7 years, when the licence fee is revoked and they can no longer fund propaganda with dwindling viewership.

Don't mind us, just heading to the TARDIS to delete the last two terrible seasons.

Ratings are constantly dropping.
Numbers have reached below the Capaldi era.
No one is watching this show my dude

The Mary Shelley 8th Doctor audios seem somewhat topical

>Yaz you're the greatest woman i've ever met
what the fuck was this shit

Attached: 039.jpg (1920x1080, 200K)

Imagine having your tax go towards making this show

First Doctor Adventures Volume 2 is TOP-tier adventuring, you have the KINO The Invention of Death which is as proper sci-fi as it gets and the great The Barbarians and the Samurai, a pure historical in which 1, Barbara, Ian and Susan get into all kinds of trouble in 19th Century Japan.

Whats everyones fave Yaz moment? What is your fave thing that she did?

They're going to reveal that 12 used the Chameleon Arch to disguise himself as Director of Communications for the Labour party back in the 00's.

Doesn't matter if it's underperforming in the UK. It's still a massive show worldwide, on par with Game of Thrones or Walking Dead. Doctor Who is still a popular and lucrative series.

Doctor Who is dead.

When did they have time to redesign their masks to fit the Time Lord motif

Attached: 095.jpg (1920x1080, 286K)

Yes in honor of the Doctors first regeneration I think that is appropriate

>Doctor Who is still a popular and lucrative series.

>sonic screwdriver buzzes
No. No, no, no, this isn't right! Earth's not supposed to have this amount of cope for another twelve years!

They're time lord cybermen dummy.
They went back in time and made them.
Duh.

Cyberclowns

oh yea the barely functioning ones are way better, just don't hate the advanced ones, they make sense

I see where they are going with this.

Every sentient creature in the entire show, is a reincarnation of doctor who from another time. There are no other characters in this universe except the doctor, who plays every part. Hes just been alive so long he forgot he set this whole quagmire in motion.

So the answer to who is doctor who is just that. It's everyone. Everyone is doctor who.

The UK is the only BBC market that matters

I feel like this was scripted somewhere for the doctor to say, as each doctor usually has a "your normal but brilliant" speech with every companion at some point. But it would have been cringe from Jodie so they gave it to loveable Walsh

>mary shelley cyberman story done by bf first
>timelord cybermen story done by comics first
could chibnal not make up something new or what

Attached: 1491734650227.jpg (1200x1155, 267K)

When she impaled herself on 13's fat timecock and they had sweaty sex on the TARDIS console while Graham chanted "GO ON, GET IN THERE GIRL" at them. Ryan was also there.
It was a beautiful moment.

why are they frowning

He couldn't even copy good. He took the ideas and implemented them in a shitty way

What's really annoying me is that this episode convinced me that actually it's not Jodie - it's the writing. As awful as this trainwreck of an episode was, it was the first time I felt the Doctor actually felt like they had been written like the Doctor, and displayed more than one emotion. It's such a shame it took 21 episodes to get to this point, and we'll likely see her revert back to her wooden self again next series.

Because out of all the Doctor Who episodes they get to be in, it's this one.

Wouldn't you be?

because they know

>The Master gloats about how the Doctor shouldn't even TRY to escape Gallifrey, because it's impossible.
>Leaves two TARDISs intact right near where he had his big conversation with her

why did the episode not explain whatsoever why The Boundary was a portal to Gallifrey?

If the Doctor can regenerate endlessly why was old 11 legit dying and needed new energy sent through the time crack?

Why did the Master think his new Cybermen had infinite regenerations? They were made with regular, 12 max Time Lords.

If Time Lords actually got their regeneration ability from The Doctor, how did River get hers?

Why was The Ruth Doctor's TARDIS a police box?

If Moffat hadn't backtracked with the Time War none of this would have happened.

>the Doctor actually felt like they had been written like the Doctor,
Do I use this new TARDIS to set up an elaborate trap for the master? Naw give me a bomb I am sure I will die good this time.

Yeah, one of the first times I felt something from Jodie was when she was screaming "BUT WHY WOULD THEY LIE?" to The Master.

Look I don't mean the character was smart, or well written. I just mean that Jodie had the material that allowed for her to get a performance that evoked a sense of "yup this is the Doctor" in me.

That's the exact scene I was thinking of, yeah.

Sacha and Jodie have such good chemistry

fair point

Attached: 1498437860095.jpg (758x774, 59K)

The old man was more the Doctor when he told everyone he had a crazy plan that might get them all killed.
That evoked more of the Doctor then anything Jodi did.

>why did the episode not explain whatsoever why The Boundary was a portal to Gallifrey?

because they needed a quick way to get everyone to Gallifrey, so a space hole opened up.

Tomorrow, once all the mindless twitterati have forgotten it, people are going to fucking HATE this

lol

Attached: anglo_1920x1080_jenny.jpg (1920x1080, 969K)

>gallifrey supposedly still in bubble universe but you can just TARDIS out whenever you want

Attached: 1376737698337.jpg (500x282, 17K)

They ripped off marvel!

Attached: doctor who.png (575x390, 381K)

I can't believe David was lucky enough to have babies with her. If you have not listen to her Jenny episodes from Big Finish they are a great deal of fun and far she is a better written women then Jodi.

so there's a plot twist revelation that there are other doctors that we didn't know about, before hartnell, and despite having all of these dull supporting characters, it never crossed chibnall's mind to maybe have one of them be revealed to be one of them? I hate this twist but it feels like he told it in the worst way possible, through long scenes of narrated exposition allowing for no real emotional engagement.

People treating Who like it’s a nit-picky show instead of the fly by the seat of your pants space magic it is will always be wild to me. Just sit back and enjoy the ride.

So what did she tell him in the Cloisters during Hell Bent?

Attached: gumkp78nolqz.jpg (3000x1999, 450K)

This. Same reason she happened to be standing on top of a "paralysis field" when the plot needed to give her a lorebreaking expodump.
it's shit writing.

No.

I love you

She was just begging for one last shag before she dies.

"My real name is Susan"

THERE ARE NO YOUNG AND HANDSOME AND NON-FEMME DOCTORS. FACT!

What if the ride is thoroughly unenjoyable?

hot

>do you really want to blow up your home planet
>no i very much don't want to but there's no other choice lol
hahaha what the fuck
its like they've just shit all over eccleston and to a lesser extent tennant
he (yes i said he) had an entire incarnation with ptsd over the destruction of gallifrey and now she doesn't even fucking care in the slightest
she just tardised out of there and said "i just need a moment"
the judoon entered the tardis (how?)

holy fuck i would say it's like a child wrote it but that is unironically demeaning to children, even children would know this is terrible

Sounds very stunning and brave.

she told him to regenerate before season 11 in order to avoid the worst of the diversity shite

why did they reveal gallifrey was destroyed in episode 2? wouldn't that have been a much better cliffhanger to last week's episode? especially since it's been of fuck all relevance until now

One day, I shall come back. Yes, I shall come back. Until then, there must be no regrets, no tears, no anxieties. Just go forward in all your beliefs, and prove to me that I am not mistaken in mine

Attached: he sit.png (351x410, 111K)

Don't ask questions. Consume product, get excited for next product.

because consequences will never be the same

>Sheboygans

Lol just in it for the trainwreck at this point, plus the cartoon adaptations of lost episodes, those are fun. I was never a big fan but I'll pay more attention to it now that it's so horrible.

Mostly I feel sorry for all the anoraks out there in England. They're the real injured party in all of this.

Attached: city-logo-medium.jpg (300x249, 12K)

they knew ratings were dropping off and wanted to keep people invested in the season. It's the same reason they dropped the black lady doctor in the middle of the season instead of as buildup for the finale.

unfortunately for them, this marketing tactic seems to have failed

People are so close-minded whenever Nu-Who does anything that dares touch the established canon

This is the established canon now. This is the show. The last episode was just as important as any episode from the Old Era. This is Who nerds deal with it

Questions to add:

>Does this mean we will get adventures of the doctor before Hartnell? Like big finish and all that?
>Did the Hartnell doctor escape because he didn't want to be brainwashed?
>Was Susan really his grandkid?
>Did Omega and Rasilon have nothing to do with the culture despite being shown to have such in classic who?
>How did river get the ability to regenerate? 11 says it was the time vortex. Clearly not now. Did 11 secretly fuck Amy? Did the Silence genetically modify River and, if so, why didn't they just use that tech on their own soldiers?
>Was the Irish kid thing just an illusion? A past life? If they were all Time Lords why was he the only one to age?
>How has the Doctor never met pre Hartnell doctors before this?
>Why does the modern Master keep getting involved with Cybermen? It reeks of unoriginality
>If Ace was going to the Time Lord Academy, was she going to be genetically modified too?
>WTF was all that shit 7 said hinting he was a Time Lord creator? If they were going the Longbarrow route with that 30 yrs ago it obv isn't canon anymore, but you could argue with the current reveal that 7 could still have known his origins and it would still apply in this case he was a Time Lord originator. But in this case you could then say why the hell didn't all the subsequent Doctors? Is 7 just insane and egomaniacal then? Or did that all just stop being canon in the new show?
>Was the Doctor just attending the academy constantly and having their memory wiped until the day they became the Hartnell doctor, grew old and escaped? Why did the Master know him as a little girl, if each regeneration he had his memory wiped? The Master should have know pre Hartnell doctors by that logic so wtf is going on?
>Did Tom Baker know about those regens in Morbius? Why did they pop up if his brain was wiped? And if they were there despite that why weren't there more?

Attached: 1389920107547.gif (500x249, 499K)

"One day, I shall become black. Yes, I shall become black. Until then, there must be no toxic masculinity, no whites, no straight men. Just go forward in following the Holy Quran, and prove to me that I am not a bigoted white male"

Meh, I consider Doctor Who fans to be on the same level as bronies, Yea Forums, and people who speedrun video games. Like if even just one of them ends up killing themselves over this I'll be happy.

As shitty as Chinballs is, isn't making the Doctor Time Lord jesus really the only logical conclusion after years of RDW and Moffat building up the Doctor to be the most powerful entity in the universe?

go away Chinball you don't have a lot of time left to fix this

Well that was an absolute waste of run time previous episode, then. And, as I've asked earlier, where's the part that represents regeneration being copied?

>when Chibnall fucks up so hard that he makes eight members of the production team wearing funny hats into canon incarnations of their own fictional creation

>for 57 years the Doctor was just a person who ultimately shirked the responsibility of his species and wanted to travel and see the universe, and help whenever possible
>turns out the Doctor is a literal fucking messiah of multiple realities and dimensions

thanks for the chuckle user

Attached: 1484019767697.png (555x828, 249K)

At least they wrote the Doctor as somewhat "earning" that level through hundreds of years of experience, not just being born the chosen one

Having him slowly work and become the space jesus after hundreds of years of hard work and dedication works a million times better then having him always be some random super duper jesus from very start.

I don't understand why everyone is so angry? Even if the plot is overall "pointless" I love me some backstory. Isn't that what being a superfan is all about? Wanting to soak in all the info you possibly can?

if you're looking for a non-meme answer, it was obviously some kind of declaration of love. it's left to the audience to imagine her exact words.

Fuck off chibnall.

I'm just here to laugh at you people. I left after the last male doctor stopped existing, it was obvious making the doctor a female would introduce max wokeness, and as seen here that is clear. Ratings also dont lie. This shit is falling apart, wokeness claims another show.

guess he's over his also brilliant dead black wife

Go to bed Chris it’s almost 3am

Changes to lore should enhance that lore
This detracts from it

>This shit is falling apart, wokeness claims another show.
and that is ok. Wilderness years were best years user

you know what really pisses me off the most

they should have spent the pen ultimate episode focusing soley on the timeless child, then focus this last episode on the Cybermen being upgraded into Time Lord hybrids, making the title Ascension of the Cyberman more apt

such a lack of attention to detail on something so fucking basic is just insulting

I hope not.
No, he thought he was the first incarnation.
Probably.
Silly user, those people don't matter anymore.
Chibnall forgot.
Time Lords obfuscating the information about The Timeless Child, it doesn't make sense.
Read above.
Because this is a shoehorned in awful storyline by a hack writer who should not have the job he has.
Because Chibnall is a hack and they're better cannon fodder for The Master than the Daleks.
Probably.
Ehh... lets just say none of that is canon anymore in the slightest.
The Timeless Child had a memory wipe, became the First Doctor and grew up with the Master, the stuff with the little girl was the information now de-obfuscated by the Master. He didn't know her as a child, he found out about the past lives as Sacha Masta.
It's a production joke which has now destroyed the canon of the show.

Yeah but it was mostly a war hero over Jesus. Classic Who Doctor was a mysterious traveller, helping people, doing his best. New Who Doctor was a grizzled war vet, travelling around, helping people, doing his best.

>TFW he is no longer the renegade outcast Time Lord who was raised in an orphanage and was never fully accepted into Time Lord society as he always questionned it.
>TFW he is no longer just a madman in a box.
>TFW he can no longer love humanity because he identifies with them, how they are deeply flawed and keep failing, but keep getting back up and always try, just like he does.
>TFW he can no longer see the brilliance of his ordinary companions because at one point he was ordinary, just like the other people of Gallifrey and he rose to become the person he is. So he knows that they can rise to the occasion too and do so much more.

I still don't see how a timelord/cyberman hybrid is superior to just a timelord. Its clunky robot armor. no emotion, and maybe a blaster attached to the arm.
It does not sound like much of an upgrade to me

BASED AND SCREENCAPPED!

Attached: fullwidth.a00fd0b1.jpg (970x595, 331K)

Do you want fucking Jodie wilderness years? Because that is what we will most likely get

>black goddess child's power is stolen by ignorant cave-dwelling whiteys
They did it. They fucking did it.

even that sandifer tranny hates this episode. its amazing the who fandom is united again in hatred for this shitty fucking retcon

The backstory of the Doctor being this average time lord, a rather poor one actually who leaves and becomes this great hero is a far more enticing and relatable character than the Doctor being an immortal being from a parallel universe who was the source of all time lords.

>retconning doctor who only to make the doctor basically infinite

Could have been a lot worse I guess but.. I just don't see the point

can it get any worse? No I don't think so

Yeah -- Doctor Who was a good'un. Took a rewatch to properly see it 'cause it was just *so* much, but yeah. My only real quibble is the fact that Chibs clearly didn't realise how good a villain Ashad was when he did away with him like *that* -- the rest was top-notch!

holy shit that was bad

it's not an upgrade to the timelord species, but it is a massive upgrade to the Cybermen

Chibnall should unironically be lined up and exterminated for that atrocious retcon of the Doctors' origin...
Also I feel sorry for ever doubting Moffat.

Attached: Cyber_Smasher.jpg (600x337, 51K)

>The founder of the Time Lords is a woman who turns into a black man

which tranny?

So I recently saw an article that was nothing but Moffat and Mark Gatiss saying fans should stop worrying about canon because it doesn’t mean anything.

Chibnall spent tonight’s episode flipping them both off and fixing canon. I just enjoy that.

have you all apologized to moffat yet

>first docto
PROVE IT.

No his era was still pretty shit. Especially 6 - 8

I enjoyed Moffat's run, if anything vindication feels nice

Why do people call slippery slope a fallacy when it always turns out to be true?
1963 - 2018: The Doctor has always been a White male.
2018: The Doctor has always been a White Male, but is now a White female.
January 2020: The Doctor who was traditionally a white male but is now a white female is going to be or was a black female at some point.
March 2020: The Doctor was originally a Black female child refugee who became Asian, a black man, and various other races.

I know most of you don't go in for this /pol/shit but you've got to see this, right?

I feel like I should be mad but I honestly don’t care, Chibnall has managed to suck out all my passion for the show in the short time he’s been in charge. Well played.

No but it will just stagnate because the face of of EU will be actress utterly incapable of filling the role she was given

but people here were so sure chibnall's would be better

they are both ridiculously aesthetic

Go back.

RTD jerked off the Doctor a lot, but it was always because of what the character had done, not who he was born as. I think in general he relied on it as a way to resolve plot points (ie. the series 3 finale's massive rewind) and then ended up realizing it was such a staple of his era that he took it to the extreme in the end of time, though that doesn't change the fact it was trash.

I've always disagreed with people who assert that Moffat did this though - if anything he did the reverse. Through series 5 we see the Doctor's reputation being used to scare enemies off, but in the finale it's revealed that this has actually resulted in them imprisoning him out of fear for what he might do. In series 6 it reaches the point where the villains engineer someone with the sole purpose of killing him, and the doctor himself admits he got too big and lost track of who he really is, and decides to retreat into the shadows. The following season is about getting to the heart of who the Doctor is and teasing that he has a great past to be interested in, before saying that none of that actually matters; what really matters is the promise of the name "Doctor", and in the last episode he goes out fighting to save a bunch of nobodies in a small village that won't be remembered, fully expecting that this is where he will die for good. The big moment of realization in the series 8 finale after a year of doubting himself is that the Doctor is just an idiot travelling through time and helping people.

just because someone's worse than you, doesn't make you good.

If this does ultimately become FUBAR, the BBC does have an easy play to fix this retcon

The Galifrey they are all on is a one from a paralell universe accessed by a "breach", the Matrix they were using is a parallel recording of a parallel universe

it can all be wiped away by parallel universe cop out

never had to. i always loved seasons 5 and 9, and enjoyed some parts of the other seasons.

>I know most of you don't go in for this /pol/shit
wrong. most of Yea Forums are /pol/lacks from before the donald took over

Is the Shalka Doctor canon now?

Attached: scream-of-the-shalka-doctor.jpg (673x513, 30K)

Would the BBC allow Capaldi to wake up and have it all be a dream under a new showrunner?

Imagine thinking that the BBC cares about quality and not just identity politics.

All of this aside, does it not bother anyone that apparently the fucking Judoon have tech that beats Time Lord tech?

every doctor is now canon. Every single one.

who cares? time lord tech is stolen from black gods

Making the doctor the very founder of the species rather than a renegade Time Lord isn't just backstory, it's complete rewriting of what we know.

You can just offhandedly explain it by saying that the Master was lying to her and the Matrix was a fake that he had engineered. That way all it takes is a single line of dialogue so we don't have to waste more time retconning this trash than we need to.

where did the cyberium and that death particle shit come from?

Yes it bothers me.
What's even more offensive is that the fucking cunt had the gall to steal 10's WHAT WHAT WHAT from the Runaway Bride after Donna got teleported in.

If he had been the War Doctor I would have lost my goddammed mind

>When Chibnall defenders say that it doesn't shit on decades of lore because of one episode where there's a vague scene with little explanation where the production team make a cameo and pose in funny hats means that this was canon all along.
>Also because of an off handed comment by the Second Doctor where we don't know if he was serious or not.
>Neither of these were followed up on for 41 years.

the doctor just kinda forgot that he could regenerate in the time of the doctor
and so did the time lords

It was all an illusion from the Land of Fiction.

Or whatever the hell, it's just a goddamn TV show.

it came from the land of plot convenience

Now lets be honest if the Time Lords really found a God and stole her tech I think they would be very proud of that fact?
Hide it and rewrite their history fuck no they would plaster that shit on every wall
>WE STOLE FIRE FROM THE GODS
Yeah they would not be ashamed of that one bit

>why did the episode not explain whatsoever why The Boundary was a portal to Gallifrey?
>Be a random human survivor of Cyber war
>Against all odds, make it to the boundary
>Go through
>You're on Gallifrey
>Master happens - you're dead.

I just realized something about the Doctor and Clara that really explains why he was so in love and obsessed with her.
He had to watch her die like 3 different times, potentially even more thanks to the timeline fuckery she had to do. It's no wonder when the Raven curse fell under her he went balls to the wall angry and did absolutely everything he could to save her again

Attached: clara-dalek.jpg (732x927, 703K)

Cyberium was established during 11's run as the central AI that manages the Cybermen species

death particle is just a plot device

The Master is a lying liarface.

Why would the death particle be any problem at all for beings who regenerate?

But they did. That's canon now. They stole the black goddess' power like white slavers.

I think thats what makes it all stupid too. Ultimately the show is dictated by the show runners. Like how Moffat went "Well actually Gallifrey was saved he just doesn't remember."

It's why the lore is so complicated at times if you read all of it, not just The Doctor's backstory but all of Gallifrey. Because each showrunner has a different idea of what Doctor Who should be. Its what happens to any media that constantly switches lead writers - specifically happens in long running comic books.

So it's just highly obvious that if the show makes it to the next showrunner, this will be retconned. It's gonna happen, so its like whats the point?

You're thinking of the Cyberiad which is the collective hive mind.
The Cyberium is an AI.

what’s the point of all of this new lore?

The show said pocahontis was the first person on gallifrey to travel to other planets.

What?

No NASA? No space agencies? No government funding?

This bitch just invented the concept of space travel for a species that (at this point) couldn't fly in space.

This one person independently not only invented the concept of space travel but the ability to do it, in one lifetime (and she was extremely young when it happened, because she spent the rest of her life experimenting on shanequa) with no outside help?

you sound drunk, bruv

If Jodie doesn't get a BAFTA it's an injustice

well that just makes Chinballs especially retarded since the Cyberiad was already an established thing

To shit on white male fans, by making their favorite white guy character actually be a black girl.

Literally thats it.

Are you saying a women can't do everything on her own? What are you some kind of sexist racist homophone xenophobe racist bigot nazi?

Piss off fans and grab online headlines

To this point in fairness Zephrem Cockran did the same in Star Trek, not space travel but warp travel

I think Moffat gets a hard time for the Gallifrey thing. It was the 50th Anniversary, people expected something huge, and they needed to do something. At any other point I'd be annoyed at Gallifrey being saved, and I'm equally mad at it being destroyed so quickly by Chibnall, but I think it made sense for something dramatic like that to happen on the 50th. The timing also lined up nicely, as this was around the very point where it felt that the reason for Gallifrey's destruction in the first place (the reboot) was no longer there. I don't think Moffat would've saved Gallifrey had the 50th not happened, and I doubt he had any real desire to rewrite anything RTD did like Chibnall so clearly does.

Just be glad all his kino still exists. Put ChibWho out of your mind. Watch Terror of the Autons or Sun Makers or Talons and forget the name Chib.

Attached: 2918022.jpg (180x224, 10K)

Chibnall's said in interviews that he's had this idea in his head for years, and that this is the story he's always wanted to do.

So basically, making his own headcanons canon.

what that mouth do tho?

No. She did it all on her own. She undertook the decades of work it would have taken a collective effort of an entire race on her own.
And then she raised a child for a bit. And then she became a master of medicine and genetic manipulation, splicing the genes of a goddess. On her own.

sexist.

I didn't really think about that. For now it feels like a lot of new backstory for no reason really, maybe i'm judging it too early.

>a hard time for the Gallifrey thing
It really was not that bad and the realization the Doctor had that he should not be running away from home but toward it was perfect.
That should have been the theme of the doctor moving forward. Always moving one step closer to home, to his daughter whatever.
It would have been perfect but nope

Yeah I think he didn't wanna do anything with Gallifrey in general and just saved it for the big 50th moment, as shown by the fact we're only on Gallifrey for half an episode in the rest of Moffat's run.

>making his own headcanons canon

Would have been better if the Timeless child was Susan and the Doctor had been programmed to think she was her granddaughter and was conditioned to protect her.
Wouldn't have broken so much continuity and would have made sense that the Doctors empathy and wish to help everyone was transferred from her granddaughter to the universe as a whole.

Plus we could have got Susan back.

Welp, time for Big Finish to bring the Nicholas Briggs Doctor back from the dead, then.

Oh, and she also visited numerous other planets personally, on her own.

fuck it. You're the doctor, too. Why not? And me. Everyone in this thread is now the doctor.

A mind-blowing, brain-boggling finale that gave our beloved series the shake up it needed.

It brings a whole deeper mystery to The Doctor, which can be explored for years to come!

Who IS The Doctor? Where are they from? How many lives? Oh man I need a cuppa.

Based, gonna go watch The Sea Devils now.

Would have been great if the timeless child was the master, and years of experimentation made him mad, but his memory was wiped every time the time lords regenerated him.

I don't get you, /who/.

>ugh fucking nu-who writers making the doctor anything other than a rebel without a cause helping people where he can!

>based cartmel masterplan would have made the doctor a god and ace his hot timelady companion yipee!

Pick one, hypocrites.

>Plus we could have got Susan back.
Lets just leave Susan to her original work and maybe the upcoming big finish story. I doubt they would destroy her.
Fucking hottie that she is deserves not to be sullied by Chibnal

Time for the Rowan Atkinson Doctor Big finish, where he teams up with the Lenny Henry Doctor.

The best one yet! Jodie and the rest of the cast knocked it out of the park. And the new background creates so many new possibilities for the future. I can’t wait to see where it all leads us. Onto more adventures

>6 - 8
The what?

Nobody here praises Lungshallow or the cartmel masterplan, retard.

>130177436
Nice fasleflag faggot.

shabogan

It's hard to believe the BBC can still afford shills.

I think they do it for free

FACKIN' BOGANS

Dubs of truth

The Cartmel master plan was always retarded

Susan is great in BF. I loved that christmas eighth doctor adventure, relative dimensions. It was just fantastic.

Man I can't believe he said I don't wanna go and just dropped dead on the spot and they cut to credits. What a way to end to end the series. It'll be remembered for days to come.

Did the Doctor change the gender of the TARDIS?

Yeah, pretty strange how they made the 12th doctor say the exact same thing 10 did though.

I am eagerly awaiting the following

Attached: large.jpg (600x600, 184K)

>CLARA: I saw all of them: eleven faces; all of them you. You're the eleventh Doctor.
This was in the Doctor's timestream - not his memories. So how does this fit with this latest revelation?

Attached: 845.jpg (1000x562, 141K)

You know when a jigsaw piece won't fit so you just get a hammer and hammer it in until the entire thing is ruined, makes no sense, and isn't even fun?

That's how it fits.

Shh don’t think about it

That would probably have been even better.
The chosen one turned out to be evil after saving the universe a few dozen times over and the only person who was ever kind to him was the Doctor and his natural paranoia meant he'd never trust that anyone trying to help him and he'd hate them more than even those who were hurting and using him.

Damn. Much better than my idea.

Oh, that will be nice. I hope she dies in the war, though. Be a nice tragic end for her character. Can't wait for more of that perfect chemistry between her and paul mcgann though

>because she spent the rest of her life experimenting on shanequa) with no outside help?
Oh, reminded me - why di early Doctor KEEP ON dying again and again while 'mom' got older?

It actually limits possibilities going forwards.
Previously the show had a mysterious past for the Doctor so they could imply a ton of things but never had to commit to anything.
Now they have a mostly fixed timeline and that's going to handcuff future writers to this mess.

Why is Chibnall so intent on killing off story possibilities? First UNIT. Now Gallifrey and the Time Lords. I don't get why he's so intent on destroying things just because he doesn't see a use for them at present - when they could easily be put to use by other future writers. Now if someone wants to use the Time Lords again, they're going to have to jump throw hoops to retcon this shit (please do), which is just insulting after all the effort Moffat put into opening those doors.

would have made great story to wonder whether the child was a refugee or an outcast or a deliberate exile from wherever it came from. As well as making the time lords look more interesting for so eagerly adapting unknown biology into their own for personal gain.

so..humanity and the time lords were wiped out by the cybermen?

uhhhh the timestream was part of the matrix which was covered up uhhh dont think about it

He was living in post-WWIII shitworld, so there was no space program (yeah, how did he manage it then?).

Retards.

The adoptive mother of the doctor WAS the doctor.

One line is all it takes. Destroy the time lords, don't be mad, the master is crazy and lies, and then just ignore everything he ever said.

Well you see user...
One thing I should...
Uh.
Excuse me for one second.

and so are you. And only you can prevent forest fires.

>everyone is the doctor
Are you a Hindu by chance?

they should've put chibnall in the forever jail at the end instead of poor Jodie.

in reference to the master knowing the doctor as a little girl that was a line said by Missy, and heavily implied to not be the lie she was telling. when Moffat was running the show it made sense as a cheeky nod the doctor had been a woman in a past life. and despite 11 acknowledging that there were only twelve doctors, we were at that point in the show aware that time Lords could have more than one set of 12. now it just seems out of place and confusing because it implies some of the lives the timeless child lived were at the academy as a child doctor before they were actually the doctor.

>first female doctor
>worst writer in history
Was this done deliberately to sour the concept?

No, it was a sour concept.

nope its just that those in power value ideological purity over skill.

how about these:

if the woman in end of Time wasn't the doctor's mother like she was heavily implied to be, who the fuck was she? Tectuen? why the fuck would she care or be an implied prisoner? the show made it kind of sound like was callous to the doctor

and was the doctor ever actually an orphan boy living in a barn with what I'm assuming are now the non Time Lord Shobogan? wtf happened to that?

One thing I'm really pissed off about is that Rassilon and Omega are now shoved to the side of canon when those two arseholes were the founders of the Time Lords and really set the theme of why Time Lords were such stuffy bastards.

Also I hope Omega comes out of the Anti-matter universe and just fucks everyone up for the sixtieth anniversary special in three years.

Inb4 The Doctor teams up with some Daleks for a jailbreak and as she is talking to them The Daleks and their central memory index offers up information that contradicts or clarifies what we now know

a LOT of things combine together to make him so autistically devoted to her
>brings him out of his post-Pond-depression
>a fuckton of time passes for him at trenzalore, so clara has been someone he knew for a very long period of time
>gave her life to save him for the GI (this is later retconned but he still remembers)
>first face his twelfth incarnation saw and acts as his moral compass while he's busy being a dick
>jenna coleman being insanely fuckable
these and many more combined are the reason, and it's obvious moffat's crush on the actress made him turn her into the doctor's #1 waifu ever. i liked how their relationship progressed in s9, personally, even though she stayed on for too long.

Trekfag here, just posting to send my condolences. Now you guys know how we feel too.

Fuck this show and fuck all goddamn disgusting feminists. I cannot wait until the Boogaloo. Every day the fucking jew hammers away at entertainment and pop culture. I want to watch these fucking feminist cucks burn and die.

It's already been confirmed that she was lying. In The Magician's Apprentice, Missy says:
>"Since always. Since the Cloister Wars. Since the night he stole the moon and the President's wife. Since he was a little girl. One of those was a lie."
And then in Hell Bent, the Doctor confirms the story about the moon and the President's wife, meaning the little girl one was the lie.

>A Timelord expedition went to the portal 'first' Doctor came from
>They return at any point the writer/show runner wants.
I'd prefer 'Master was lying', but it's still doable.

>The Division
could it be that Chibnall doesn't know about the Celestial Intervention Agency?

First scene of season 14:

Professor, you've dozed off again!
Whah? Hmm? Ah, perfect timing! That was a particularly nasty one.
Honestly Professor, your dreams are getting more and more bizarre the older you get.
Yes, Perhaps I should have rrrrrregenerated a while ago, I'll drop you off on Earth and then get to the zero room to trigger one.

Hail the Fandom Menace fren. But this is the biggest middle finger to any fandom. Whofags have it worse. We just wanted mindless fun entertainment about a time traveling dude fighting weird aliens and monsters. Nope. A cunt is the key to everything. At least Star Trek canon is still minimally functional.

What proof was really offered in the show besides the masters word? The Matrix shows the Doctor some events of someones life and she just believes the crazy man.
The same crazy man who says he was hacking the matrix

I'm one you quoted, and had already considered this. But I hate 'stable time loops'.

There's Ruth.

I do love the way he does he r's

>tfw i’m a trek fan too
Seeing two of my favourite franchises go down the toilet at the same time is just depressing

so was the based leakposter right a few weeks ago? Are the BBC going to pull back the audio for themselves with this "division" shit?

did Clara meet pre Hartnell doctors?

Attached: 1307333235682.png (633x477, 258K)

youtube.com/watch?v=vhe3vSe-mmw

So what happened to the planet with the inter dimensional rift on it?

Why didnt the timelords explore it? Did the monument exist to fart out baby Doctor and then shut off forever?

This was just a bad fanfiction that accidentally made it to TV

so the light monsters from the first episode really were just nobodies from another dimension that wanted some hard drive storage space huh? what a joke.

It's worse than the TV movie.

Ignoring everything what the fuck are the Cyber-time-lords?

Say one of their arms gets blasted off and they regenerate is that arm now unarmored forever? Does the armor regenerate? What if the part of the armor with the emotional inhibitor gets destroyed?

They just stuck two things together that didn't work. What's next, sontaron-slitheen?

sonataran-slitheen would be great fuck you

It’s all so tiresome...

So, this clock is going to be a fobwatch type device and will be how the Doctor gets back those lost memories, right? I can't see why they'd focus on it otherwise.

Attached: 88.jpg (1920x1080, 232K)

River's constant smug, self-superior, brash and overbearing persona never appealed to me and I'm very glad she was never a fulltime companion. She also never felt like a romantic interest, seemed more like the Doctor's overly flirtatious aunt who loved to provoke him.

So, humanity is dead now?

a true and proper declaration of love, no ambiguity, Clara is the ultimate companion for the doctor and he illustrates that to her. and something about her being an even better doctor than he is.

But it did all happen. Hartnell Doctor grew up not knowing about his past.

hey, remember when the doctor became an old elf in a cage bc the master wanted to reveal his true age? also did Clara meet the timeless child? this show is so fucked

>overly flirtatious aunt
hnnngggg

Good catch user. Fuck this show and fuck the jews who ruined it.

APOLOGIZE RIGHT FUCKING NOW, EVERYTHING STEVEN MOFFAT WROTE IS HIGH FUCKING ART AND THIS SHITSHOW PROVES IT

Attached: moffat6.0.0.jpg (1400x1400, 128K)

What would Hartnell say if you sat him in front of that and said this was his legacy 60 years later.

I have nothing to apologize for, I never doubted him.

Yeah, overly flirtatious when there are other people in the room, but it just becomes uncomfortable when you're alone in the room with her. That's the impression I get from River.

They should have written Oswin as the original Clara and kept that outfit.

Attached: Oswin.png (1920x1080, 2.1M)

Why do the pre Hartnell Doctors call themselves the Doctor? Why do their TARDISes look like police boxes? Why do I even care?

user I was always on his side
for doctor who

i love hell bent so much. it's second literally only to heaven sent. Anyone who complained about gallifrey being wasted in hell bent should be put up against a fucking wall, this is what happens when you make a gallifrey story.

I'm the Doctor and so's my wife

Wait, when do we see any pre-Hartnell Doctors?

Puts her hand on your thigh and rubs sort of thing? While looking at you and putting her cleavage on your arm?

Feel like pure shit, just want him back

What if this is all a ploy to bring back the valeyard, he's messed with the matrix before haha

Attached: sad capaldi.gif (500x275, 465K)

Did you just forget about the Jo Martin Doctor?

Everything the doctor does from now on will just be because she's a literal god queen yaaaas slay

it's over boys. They won.

Except they still haven't confirmed when she comes into the timeline.

Has this show just been getting worse from the start?
Name one time when it got better.
I don't just mean a good episode I mean a sustained improvement.

Peak was Hartnell, then Troughton, then Pertwee, then Baker, then Davison, then Baker, it just continually got worse from the start.

youtu.be/p5eHJmQg-_M

how did we go from poignant intimate stories like this to fucking cyber time lords.

All the things you listed just makes me sad that these will never be a thing with the Doctor anymore. The Doctor was never meant to be Time Lord Jesus. Doctor was always just a madman in a box at the very least and simplest. This shit is contrived, we have enough stories about some Jesus archtype.

Chibnall missed the point... I think he really overthought about what he should've done to make an overarching plot, and this certainly wasn't it. It feels like he was trying to usurp Moffat in making a crazy change to the lore, like with the War Doctor, but he just ended up fucking shit up. It's like when you're making coffee and you're putting sugar in it, but you put WAAAAY too much sugar in it and end up making it taste too sweet. That's how I feel about this.

What exactly did they win? They will destroy the property and move on not giving it another thought but inside my head the Doctor is as he always was. A mad MAN with a box.

Troughton was better than Hartnell.

Y'know what kills me? This whole thing is for nothing, the episode even establishes that it's for nothing.
I could give an ounce of respect to Chibnall if this was a plot-point that got him to tell an interesting story, but he IMMEDIATELY throws it away by having Ruth show up and say it doesn't matter. The story isn't about the lore reveal. The Doctor isn't changed by it, The Doctor isn't challenged by it enough to change, The Doctor doesn't THINK about it, the climax is LITERALLY about the Doctor ignoring what she just learned this past episode and to go on unchanged.
The story is JUST the lore reveal, it's all it has, boring 40 minutes of the Master narrating some nonsense vignettes.

RIPPING APART THE CANON
DESTROYING THE CHARACTER
57 YEARS OF CREATIVE WRITING BY HUNDREDS OF DIFFERENT WRITERS
POSSIBLY THE BIGGEST COLLABORATIVE WORK OF OUR TIME
ALL OF IT UNDONE
AND IT WAS ALL
FOR
NOTHING

Blows my fucking mind how Chibnall is someone who's into creative writing, because he seems like the least creative nigger to exist.
Fuck it. Doctor Who is gone. It's a show that meant something some years ago, but not it's nothing, it's virtually empty in every way.

I have to say, I'm devastated but delighted. I've always said that the Hinchcliffe era is the show's least interesting, and that its valorisation is a character flaw in fandom. Now Chris Chibnall has prioritised a clumsy anomaly from that era above the rest of the canon. I hope he'll be the last 70s nostalgist allowed to run the programme.

>What exactly did they win?
You loved it. They took it from you, and strangled it to death while you watched. Now you've retreated into memories while they own the future.

They won. Categorically, they won.

dey fly now?

Stopped watching the moment the black guy showed up

>bald black female timelord
I can't concentrate on the story when this shit happens. It takes me out of the immersion of it when some disgusting sheboon appears who only got the role to meet BBC guidelines appears.

What reason did they have to show a white man regenerating into a black woman other than to make a point that one day that'll be the doctor?

...

fuck off

He literally just wrote it to piss off fans, that’s it.

but when matt smith was introduced the doctor straight up said "i've never been a girl before"

Future's now, old man.

>Doctor has unlimited regens
We are never going to see the Valeyard.

he just didn't remember haha :^)

so what are the repercussions of the knowledge that the doctor has infinite regenerations then?
any story that requires a sacrifice from now on should absolutely be left for the doctor to make.
and if things are dire enough, she ought to be able to conjure up a regeneration to destroy the enemy ala the time of the doctor with the dalek ship.

chibnall is shit
jodie is shit
writing is shit

but the media will disregard the truth and say those who don't like it must be some woman hating incel whatever fuck everything

How do they TARDIS units still work if the eye of harmony isn't being controlled anymore?

>the doctor has literally been everything but a ginger
no wonder the doctor always keeps hoping

Remember the coomers saying this would be a golden age of flirtatious, confident, mature writing when Jodie was announced?

What's an eye of Harmony?

A bit of that and also it's literally his headcanon turned official.
In an interview he said that when he was a kid he was really impressed by the The Brain of Morbius episode and that it is still his favorite episode ever to date.
He literally used this season to build up his official fanfic.

Good job this isn't a show where different time settings have to be taken into account.

Andrew Cartmel and Marc Platt should sue. This IS the mythos of "The Other", who brought the Time Lords their technology but eventually got turned into one of them. Chibnall has just given it a little wokepapering.

In hindsight, I like that Moffat kept her words off-screen. It lets your imagination work (although the gist of what she'll say is obvious) and it also doesn't feature anything that would unnerve the crowd that doesn't like their relationship. It's tasteful, if that makes sense.

Imagine the hubris it takes to be given the reigns over a British institution with a 60 year long history and then to consciously decide to shit all over its legacy.
Imagine.

I remember /who/ going mental at anyone who dared to criticise Jodie’s casting, oh how times have changed

>Series 8 finale
>Doctor's crushing realization after a series of not being sure who they are is that they are just an idiot. The talk about being a hero and being good or bad is just all nonsense and the truth is that the Doctor simply does as they believe, and that is sometimes good, sometimes bad, but always idiotic.

>Series 12 finale
>Doctor's big revelation after a series of being told everything will change, is that they are a special being from an unknown universe who is the most important figure in all of Time Lord history and their past is super important and much more of a focus than who they are now. But also nothing will change and despite all this new info, there's actually nothing said about the character of the Doctor.

interesting

Extremely well said. It's had a lot highs and disappointing lows, but the Doctor's had an amazing character arc throughout NuWho up until Chibnall's "era".

You never saw the other lives of the child before it fell out from its original dimension.

What did she mean by this?

They put new armour over the arm. Simple.

Britcucks, do you like it when your Paki daddies give you their cocks?

Yeah, because the SJW tripfags have fucked off to discord where they should have been then.

>brought the time lords their technology
I thought it was Omega, Rassilon, and the Other who kicked out the witches, built the web of time, and created all of time lord science.
They didn't bring them the technology but created it by ending the magic and superstition.
If anything it was the victory of patriarchy and logic over women and magic. He just tried to do a shitty job inverting it but keeping the science.

JODIE
LOVES
COCKS

Whatever the guy says at the end of the video for "Just" by Radiohead.

The problem is more the BBC allowing a fucking faggot retard to ruin their biggest show ever and not firing him after they saw what he wrote for season 11.

>the most important figure in all of Time Lord history
Even more than that, because now the Doctor is responsible for creating thw whole time lord race, and time lord being the most powerful and most influential race in the galaxy, the Doctor now is the most important living being in the entire known universe.

1. How did the master destroy Gallifrey?
2. Why didn't the Doctor get any kind of warning that one man was destroying the entirity of Gallifrey?
3. Why did the Doctor give so little of a shit about her home planet being destroyed? After 9, 10, and to a lesser extent 11, the 50th, we get a single tear?

so where did the doctor come from originally? how was the child doctor have endless regeneration energy?

grandad > uncle albert

Hell Bent was total wank.

They made Time of The Doctor pointles and even wrong for how it portray Doctor regeneration, getting older and older untill the timelords give him a new regeneration cycle and regenerating immidiately after that.
If the Doctor always had infinite regeneration, he should never had reached that old age in that episode.

Also the Doctor now is canonically immortal with no set ammount of lives, so there is no more stakes in the show, the Doctor can't di ever and everything for now on will just be pointless filler.

ahaha dont you get it? we dont know! it's doctor WHO? after all :-)

They came from another dimension.
They never explain.
Fuck you.

It always was, we should be grateful to him for giving us absolutely no reason to pretend the show isn't a zombie, existing in order to generate income for an ostensibly non-profit-making organisation.

It could of been any one of us.

No. Only someone as mediocre as him.

Reminder that it could have been great if the timeless child had grown into the Master

Exactly.
BUT, you'd think she might have told 'mom' about her previous lives. I guess there was nothing that said she didn't.
