Should I watch The X-Files? Is it still good?
Lucas Martinez
Lincoln Sanchez
Have seen Breaking Bad, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Shield, The Sopranos, The Wire. Would I like the X files if I liked all these shows?
Thomas Brooks
Yes, watching it myself for the first time. The show got a great transfer to HD and looks amazing on blu ray. I would find a skip guide before watching though as going through 200 plus episodes is a bit daunting and there are some duds along the way
Jeremiah Butler
thanks user. i was only planning on getting the blu-ray so considering it looks good in HD im more interested. How dated is the show despite looking good? Or is it a comfy 90's nostalgia that a 90's child would appreciate? Like Unsolved Mysteries comfy?
Henry Robinson
First five seasons are top tier shit, rest is hit or miss
Easton Lewis
Yes, it's definitely worth watching if you enjoy a good monster/problem-of-the-week kind of show.
Leo Gray
This. Up until season 5 the show is kino.
Season 5 hits with all kinds of non-sense goofy episode. Ends strong.
At season 6 all the overarching plot gains that have been made throughout the series are soft-rebooted and the series drops is subtle noir presentation and becomes a parody of itself.
Liam Cook
Was the COPS episode peek parody or jumping the shark?
Julian Murphy
I'm not sure how it holds up if you've never seen it before. A lot of the enjoyment that i get from watching it is nostalgia from first seeing it on TV in the 90s. But I do think the show itself is quite good, if a bit dated.

No.
Idiot.
Moron.
Retard.
Dumbass.
Dumb dumb.
Imbecile.

I haven't watched up to s5, but about finished with s3. Pretty good. Overarching plot is really good, the monster-of-the-week format gets kind of tiresome sometimes though
Michael Flores
haha epic based
Josiah Thomas
It’s parody through and through. IIRC the Simpsons XFiles crossover was made around the same time. It’s really a FOX creation, playing around with some of their biggest shows
Joseph Gray
WAY too much filler content. Gave up watching halfway through season 4.
Mason Jenkins
Whats your problem?
Jack Powell
>he thinks the filler is the bad part
Jason Allen
Tite opinions
Jack Moore
Watch the first 3 seasons. The rest is up to you.
Camden Hughes
Great show, one of my favorites growing up.
I haven't rewatched it in years but it's a good show all up. There are some pretty good creature features but the main story is the meat and potatoes.
Jack Rivera
>Season 1-6
Kino. One of the best shows to ever grace television.
>Season 7
Half the episodes are absolute shit. Half are great.
>Season 8 and 9
A shadow of its former self. But could've gone in another direction if they really went for it/got the chance.
>Season 10
Just mediocre. Kinda pointless.
>Season 11
A great final season, most episodes are great.
>Movie 1
A fantastic movie adaptation that works for beginners as well as long time devotees. Feels like the show but bigger.
>Movie 2
Mediocre and forgettable.
Honestly, for the first 6 seasons, both the "monster of the week" and the "mythology" episodes are kino. Past that, and in retrospect, the MOTW episodes are vastly superior.
Problem with the mythology episodes, as it becomes abundantly clear the further the show gets, is that they have no idea or even a loose outline of where it was going. They were just constantly pulling it out of their ass without ever intending to resolve it.

What's that?
