I'm not a giant die hard guy, but I'd bet every year between die hard's release and now has had at least one more overrated movie or series of movies.

I hate the fifth element. I cant watch that movie. or most movies directed by Euros about america. bothers me.

I dunno, Harry Potter for a series and, let's say... Donnie Darko for a single film. But there are probably thousands. How overrated a movie is = the difference between how good people say a movie is vs how good it actually is, right? So anything that's even in the contention for "most overrated" has got to have a vig in the 90's at least. Which means stratospherically high ratings attached to a giant steaming pile of shit. Die Hard is a decent-to-good action movie, so even if people were consistently calling it "the greatest movie ever made" it still wouldn't be in the discussion for most overrated. The actual film doesn't suck enough to generate that delta.
