DO IT AGAIN MICHAEL GRADE
First for Za is no leader
MAKE FIRE
fourth for timeless children was genuinely one of the worst episodes of doctor who ever made
>"I waited for youuuu."
That often seems to be the case. Plots unfold around here and resolve themselves with minimal intervention by her. It reminds me of the early Hartnall episodes where Ian and Barbara basically did everything while the Doctor followed them around grumbling, except she isn't a tenth the actor he was.
I don't recall the last time she genuinely 'won'. Not any lasting victories at least. And in this episode the Master was foiled by an old white guy, just like the good old days, while she ran like a little bitch... only to get arrested/imprisoned moments later. She is comically inept and a shame on her (now ultra speshul) lineage.
Big Finish teasing midnight announcement twitter.com
this but unironically
Apologise.
Looking forward to rewatching Capaldi's series, going to seem so amazing in comparison
The flakey paint kind of looks like cum.
Et tu, Big Finish?
>NNNNOOOOO! YOU CAN'T JUST LOCK ME IN AN INESCAPABLE PRISON FOR ALL ETERNITY! NOOOOO!!
Show me Big Finish's face now that they can fancast a bunch of people to make past Doctor audios.
So is The Doctor technically not even a Time Lord now?
>That's one heck of a orgasm
Months worth of dried cum. He really misses her.
Thread theme: youtube.com
I would say it might be a face of a man in perpetual orgasm, but then, they might be as uncomfortable with this new lore as most of us are. There is certainly the question as to whether there is a market for unseen Doctors that would make it worthwhile, which I doubt.
he REALLY missed her, i guess
No they're a being from another dimension. Time Lords are just Shaboggans who have been spliced with The Doctor's DNA
Which poses the question, how did River Song get the ability to regenerate?
World Enough and Time had the spookiest ending of any NuWho episode imo. Also the most horrifying event a companion has gone through.
>brutally shot through the chest
>saved by future tech but trapped in a creepy hospital
>watch the doctor move in slow motion for ten years trying to rescue you
>get converted anyway
youtube.com
at least it was the only rebel cyberman that made sense, due to the doctor's psychic message. Death in Heaven's Deus Ex ending with Danny Pink ruined the episode.
Can't I just rest? Haven't I earned that!?
So who was she? Also didnt the Moffat era have flashback that implied the Doctor grew up in an orphanage? How does any of this makes sense if The Doctor isnt even a Time Lord from Gallifrey?!
I don't think there was a bigger jump the shark episode ever in the history of TV than episode 10. So basically everything the doctor knew is meh and he/she is really a billion years old and lived a million times. ARGHHHHHH
I did think the Master in episode 9-10 should win an oscar for his performance, he was exactly as he should have been played. Spot on and great. he did a great job.
now we gotta wait till Christmas for a one off Dalek show because, well no reason, just keep them hanging.
I still think the old general guy who took them all out was a timelord but we will never know.
Also, did you catch in the credits they said the new doctor's name and who is playing her? SIGH
>I did think the Master in episode 9-10 should win an oscar for his performance, he was exactly as he should have been played. Spot on and great. he did a great job.
He speaks entirely in trailer sound bites...
Chinballs is fine with regenerating lore thats barerly a decade old to justify some 10 second thing from the 70s
>Star Trek has died
>now this
I thought he did a great job, saved the whole episode
From piecing together stuff from the original canon - The Doctor was raised in an orphanage among lowborn Gallifreyans, until he came of age at the academy. He met The Master, both were considered trouble makers, as they got older, both went different paths.
He pounded the diamond for her
Poo in loo Master audios already hinted at
Probably a boxed set called the end of gallifrey leaving timelords as wandering do gooders making up for their mistakes as hinted at by that we sent the cyberium back in time
not anymore, this was just the first of the child's regenerations that they made us aware of.
Since regeneration can also change apparent age, they likely force regenerated Doctor until they were a child and then wiped the memories to start "anew", and the latest iteration grew up in an orphanage since Doctor never had parents to begin with.
Which is just something I made up on the spot, but Chib ignores Moffat era altogether.
Clara should have left that season with her black bull not being killed off
Instead the actress chickened out and capaldi wasn’t allowed his time to shine
>The Morbius Doctors happened when Chibs was in his prime fandom
>Chibs has said that he's been "planning this story for years" and this is the story he "always wanted to do."
This is from an old fanfic of his after he saw Brain of Morbius, isn't it? Genuinely, I think it might be.
I liked Sacha's performance, but I hate most of the lines he's been given.
You aren't exactly helping the perception that we need spoonfeeding exposition here, user. Hell, they even addressed it. That happened; for some unknown reason they (mindwiped and) forced the Doctor into a child form on regenerating, and left him at the orphanage, and then everything we know about him played out as we know it.
No
How does that make sense when capaldi had that scene with the argument about not sending him to the academy?
>The timeless child thats the source off our entire regeneration thingy
>Lets just mind wipe them and make them grow up in an orphanage
But why?
He has better hair in his late fifties than I had at birth.
The "why does the Ruth Doctor have a police phone box then?" plot hole is just gonna get band aided with a "Old memories seeping through" next season, isn't it?
I have nothing to apologise for. I always liked it, despite its flaws.
He was probably "inspired" by Moffat reusing his old fanfiction plots like River Song
Shhh no questions.
Does Chinball actually know how to conclude a story? I know Dr Who is full of flimsy deus ex machinas but what the fuck was this one
>Doctor refuses to genocide an already dead planet
>Old dude comes out of nowhere, left the TARDIS off-camera in a scene we never get to see
>Talks to the doctor while the master just stands there watching
>Doctor runs off without the master even flinching
>Old dude presses the button after he dies like this is a wacky cartoon
Every episode plays out like my high school essays
What's wrong with this show?
Hm, a useful agent with endless regenerations to throw at enemies and missions, who might get uppity if allowed to build a persona too long. I dunno user.
>star trek
>star wars
>doctor who
IT ALL RETURNS TO NOTHING
>they said the new doctor's name and who is playing her? SIGH
?
That was the same credit from Fugitive of the Judoon
Jodie could also probably give an adequate performance if she wasn't contractually obligated to say 'senpai' every ten minutes
Chibnall's previous episodes before he became showrunner were:
>Sex gas Torchwood episode
>Cyberwoman Torchwood episode
>24 from Season 3
>Silurian Two Parter in Season 5
>Power of Three from Season 7
>Dinosaurs on a Spaceship from Season 7
This is who they picked. He could never write sci-fi and they still picked him.
To maintain the myth that Time Lords were just naturally born into their power. They couldn't exactly kill off the Timeless Child since apparently it's nearly immortal so they just used it for errands and mindwiped it to keep under control.
It kind of holds up, but barely.
>Past, future? It gets muddled up sometimes
What happened with all this shit with the Valeyard?
>"Somewhere between your 12th and final incarnation."
I can see where you are coming from, but the Doctor doesn't want to kill the Master really (especially not by her own hand and when he is clearly suicidal), and the Master doesn't really want to kill the Doctor. It's always been that way between them. Remember 10s reaction when the Master died in his arms.
They're just gonna say he was a past Doctor. Not in the TV show of course, the TV show can't even mention Rassilon. Just in some Big Finish.
You know what I'm most pissed about? The Doctor is an alien baby that dropped out of a magic portal, but she doesn't want to, you know, find out where that portal leads to or who her people ACTUALLY ARE
hey, I liked 42, and Mark Williams' character from Dinosaurs was near-perfect
the rest sucked ass though I'll give you that
more like billions of years worth
Can someone explain to me why people hated/hate Moffat so much?
His emphasis on cleverness, both clever plots/premises and The Doctor himself being clever, is what made the show so great for me.
Is it just the losers that wanna feel like they're smart for thinking Moffat is dumb that hate on him or what?
Isn't it genuinely canon that she was the Doctor's mum anyway? Who gives a fuck?
Bingo. It's going to be the old memories of Brandon (Brenden?) leaking through and giving the Doctor and TARDIS an affinity for that particular disguise. You could just as easily ask why he only ever fixed the circuit once and it's always been a blue box aside from that.
Everything was left really vague with her. Is she meant to be The Other and she created Time Lord civilisation alongside Rassilon and Omega. Or did they not really create Time Lord civilisation and it was just her? Or is she Rassilon? Or Omega?
>Also didnt the Moffat era have flashback that implied the Doctor grew up in an orphanage?
Not a fan of the episode either, but at least pay attention. The Doctor implied they turned him back into a kid after erasing his memories.
This also makes no sense, why would Ten recognise her if she's from the pre-mindwipe
Can't do that on a show titled Doctor Who unless it also turns into another origin mystery.
>two white women with thin lips look kinda similar
wow
Because often his plots weren't clever they were just unecessarily complex and had tons of holes that were hand waved by "Timey wimey"
Also I liked Clara, but her and River were his own personal Mary Sues.
Moffat made the Doctor himself the Deus Ex Machina to any problem of universal proportions, that kinda sucked. Otherwise his era wasn't terrible, just had a lesser proportion of good standalone stories and got a bit too timey-wimey.
So? It gives the show something to strive toward! I can't believe that fucking plot point got dropped and it's like, 'yeah okay so I'm from a magic portal'
To hide and maintain their made up creation story. Did you even try to pay attention? The episode was bad but not half as bad as its own viewership it seems.
The Brendon shit was never really explained either. They focused on it a lot last episode and this epsidoe it had two references.
That plot point seems to be an excuse to diversify the character a bit and to get rid of Gallifrey once and for all without leaving any reason for it to return (since Doctor isn't Gallifreyan anymore), I don't know why Chib hates it so much.
Moffat and RTD have their pros and cons. I think they have an equal amount of pros and cons. Chibnall for me has more cons than pros, and his pros are basically:
>His historical episodes are pretty informative and I feel I've learned something about them
>His cinematography is pretty.
And thats it.
Doctor Who died either in 1989 or 2017 but it has definitely died. Gonna go finish Curse of Peladon and start Sword of Orion. Remember Chinballs can't destroy kill what is already dead.
It was explicitly explained. It's the Timeless Child origin but with a filter put over it so anyone who saw it would think it's nothing special.
But you KNOW that won't fucking happen because, rightfully, the Doctor should say, 'well fuck this place, then. You all just used me to further your own campaign. Fuck it. I'm gonna go find my real home.'
This was the Last Jedi moment of DW.
So how long until this gets retconned as The Master's trickery? Cast your votes:
>Next season
>Next showrunner
>The 60th
>Never as there's not gonna be another season
i miss the /who/ wiki...
The Doctor was a little negress? jesus christ. It ended with Capaldi dying on that space ship. Fuck this crap.
See that's fucking bonkers to me too because why the fuck would a space-faring civilisation, who can regenerate, look through the matrix and go, 'ah yes, early 1900's Ireland, that fits right into Galifreyan lore.'
Oh, don't get me wrong, the explanation is garbage, but that's what we're told.
I also noticed that in the episode 13 says that when she entered the galaxy that she started getting flashes of her life in Ireland, and The Master says something about how that was her memories trying to come out.
But last episode they didn't feel like memory flashes? The Doctor didn't react to them at all, no questioning them or holding her head etc. They were just scenes we'd randomly go to every once in a while. Not once was it indicated that these were memories in her head that she was getting flashes of.
They probably did that to stop people connecting the dots but still, zero indication.
Damn. I'm not saying the cinematography is good on RTD/Moffat eras, but I constantly have issues with shots these past two series. Bad lens choices at times, bad lighting choices (TARDIS last series), way too many close-ups (if you like Jodie's forehead there's last week's ep and if you like her nose there's half of S11), can't really get into specific shots here. And I know they have good gear, it's just a bad crew.
YOU FUCKING DESTROYED THE SHOW YOU UGLY FAT FUCK CHIBNALL, FUCKING WANKSTAIN, FUCKING FOUR EYED FUCKING CUNT. I'M LEGITAMETLY FUCKING FUMING, FUCK YOU AND YOUR NIGGER FUCKING QUEER AGENDA YOU BLOODY FUCKING FREAK. YOU FUCKING SMELLY CUNT, YOU BASTARD FUCKING TWAT, FUCKING CUNT, CUNT CUNT CUNT!
'The Division' and The Doctors species will be the next series arc.
i am in awe at how Missy's arc was for nothing.
Plus, I remember a lot of people being upset at Rosa 'cause apparently the final bus scene was planned irl (?) I don't know history, I just remember when people get upset.
Waiting for the eventual indefinite "hiatus" until the series is revived again after years with the Doctor never ever mentioning this whole timeless child shitshow
Lads, please tell me i'm dying and this is a horrible near death hallucination.
Why specifically did the Doctor have to be a little black girl?
Yes user, it's just the coronavirus making you delirious.
dilate
Haven't watched this since the last Capaldi episode. Can someone give me a low down on what's happening. Someone said the Dr was a nigglet as a child
Instead:
"The Master... my brother!"
No white males allowed anymore it seems.
Why specifically did the Doctor have to be a dozen white guys?
The Doctor was a little black girl
Found by a female astronaut from Gallifrey
Fell off a clip and regenerated
Female astronaut tested on her to find a way for her race the Shobogans to regenerate
Basically it.
the doctor is actually a black girl from a random portal from maybe another dimension/universe and is the original timelord and all timelords can regenerate because they have her dna and she actually has unlimited regenerations, at least 16 before the 1st doctor
>has more advanced teleport technology than any dalek, timelord, or hell even the doctor himself
Because they're pleasing to look at
wait so are all the humans dead in the future then
So a black girls regenerates into a white man 12 times after? Yeah that makes sense. Is a lesbian writing this shit now
Well apparently there's been hundreds of regenerations. All of Brain of Morbius' Doctors are now canon as they were shown in flashbacks. Since The Doctor is the origin point of regeneration they can infinitely regenerate which makes Time of The Doctor pointless.
>Because they're pleasing to look at
The girl regenerates into a bunch of kids, then the Mobius regenerations are in there somewhere too
It's funny becuase Capaldi's episodes were still more visually appealing despite how hard they've been trying recently to make the show look cool
white liberalism is doing the bare minimum by making a character black and calling it a day, meanwhile behind the scenes 90% of the staff are caucasian
its because its easy and gets 'woke points' with people who think that sort of thing can be measured
>>His cinematography is pretty.
is it normally much better than this episode, because the whole thing was pretty hideous
Yeah the Shepards Boy montage with the constant flashes of Capaldi going over the same stuff over and over was great.
Gottem
vivid memories of thousands of fangirls pretending matt smith was even remotely attractive during his run
5 different cuts to her tits, wonderful.
judoon guy is the rani. It's going to happen finally!
they've all got very distinctive faces minus jodie
The Doctor becomes a terrible female impersonator of the 10th doctor, traveling with her three extremely boring companions in even more extremely boring adventures. During one of these extremely boring adventures, she meets an over the top, crazed poo in loo incarnation of the Master, who destroyed Gallifrey (again) because he discovered that the Doctor was originally a magical little girl from another dimension who could regenerate endlessly, being the source for the entirety of the gallifreyan race
>12 variants of "the fuck did you just say"
>and one blank stare
It's mind-boggling that Heaven Sent and Timeless Child are episodes on the same show.
>has to show him repeating a process for billions of years
>shows him repeating stuff
how else would you have shot it? plus the Shepard's boy story was kino
You know those RPGs like skyrim where you create a character, you have facial features like nose size, chin size, cheekbone size, etc and you can adjust it from minimum to maximum? Smith's face happens when you adjust all of those sliders to max. Max jaw, jax chin, max cheekbones, etc.
>It's mind-boggling that Horns of Nimon and Timeless Child are episodes on the same show.
FTFY
>The Master doesn't try to kill Rassilon for fucking him up as a child until The End of Time
>Destroys Gallifrey entirely because they used the Doctor to get the "formula" for regeneration and hid this info
Smith was underrated.
Its the pretty much standard who cycle.
Hate doctor, then like doctor, then miss doctor.
You know, I never assumed 100% of a human could fit inside a cyber-suit.
I just assumed they were basically torsos with cybernetic limbs.
every other character in his run was so god damn sexy or horny
So is the gene therapy for regeneration the Rassilon Imprimatur?
I swear there was an episode that showed that cybermen had all their organs clumped up in the torso
Its probably why they brought back the chunkier Cybermen.
Also, Cybermen confirmed for Stormtrooper tier shots.
I always thought they removed the skin and most of the muscle and organs
IS THIS SHIT SHOW STREAMING ANYWHERE? i want to say goodbye to the thing i once loved
You think now is the time to say goodbye?
Oh boy that was years ago mate
>I just assumed they were basically torsos with cybernetic limbs.
Because that's what they are, a bare minimum of organs inside a metal shell. Fitting an entire body in the suit is just dumb.
Pretty people, yes.
well the important thing is we got a new worst cyberman story to knock nightmare in silver off of its perch
He was highly overrated by some at the time who all promptly become not muh doctor faggots once he left. Now we can just watch his best stories and savour him outdoing Emilia Clarke's face acting.
where did it all go so wrong?
I'm fine with the idea of the source of regeneration being from this immortal other dimensional child, and they steal regenerations from it. It's a cool concept, to have this big secret.
Just why did it have to be The Doctor? Thats where it falls apart, canonically, character wise, etc.
i'm still mad about new-who's silurians
Seriously..
His goofyness made sense given he was playing a literal alien. It also made his angry scenes more impactful. Plus he played the age aspect really well despite how goofy he was
The concept isn't flawed on its own.
The doctor being some super duper unique special person is also not new either.
At this point random retcons are about as standard to who as the story itself.
Nah, he's rated exactly as he should be, at least here. Not as good as 12 but better than 10.
depends on when you want to refer in the series. Cybermen have changed dozens of times, even in the original series.
In general cybermen are human bodies with bits replaced and then encased in a suit over it.
So, in theory, someone may be able to fit in them.
In reality this is because they are, blatantly, just a person in a suit. Early who cybermen are laughably stupid.
The 25th Doctor will deal with him.
He grew into it.
I feel like Eleven's run was when the fandom was at its most obnoxious. Its when Doctor Who started going from just this big thing in England and having a cult following elsewhere, to big worldwide, especially in America. And I feel at times they really tried to get Eleven to appeal to that, try to get him to say a bunch of one liners that they can put on mugs and shirts, try to make him as quirky as possible for fans to "SQUEE"
It was also the height of Superwholock, if anyone remembers that abomination.
So what would be the correct course now? Retcon this mess in future episodes? Or just get a new showrunner and pretend Chinball never happened?
The one thing I really miss about his era is how much 11 loved his TARDIS.
And he did the old man in young body thing better than the other young Doctors.
There is probably only 1 person alive that knows everything about the Doctor and that is Rassilon.
coincidentally he's currently in exile from Gallifrey
How would you react to a S13 in which 13 and Ruth are both the Doctors in one TARDIS, no companions, and the point is for Ruth to relearn to be the Doctor, being completely different from 13? (let's say in the next special there's something that erases her mind or forces her to use the Chameleon Arch and she's actually 14)
mccoy?
>Retcon this mess in future episodes? Or just get a new showrunner and pretend Chinball never happened?
This or this. Maybe have the Jodie era be a hallucination caused by Capaldi's refusal to regenerate or something.
Oh no no no no. It's backfiring from non-white people.
11 was not the start of this at all mate.
THERE ARE NO YOUNG AND HANDSOME AND NON-FEMME DOCTORS. FACT!
Memory hole Chib's whole tenure. New series will be regeneration from 12 to 13 white man into a white man
Daily reminder that The Time of Angels/Flesh and Stone fuck up the creature design behind the Weeping Angels completely. It's infuriating how much shit they go against that's established when they are introduced in Blink, like the stupid fucking part where they tell Amy to walk as if she can see so the Angels' """"instincts"""" kick in and turn them to stone. However in Blink it's explained that them turning to stone is a literal quantum lock, not an instinct, so the Angel's wouldn't have turned to stone, realized this, and just killed/put Amy back in time.
Then they give them voices wihch ruins part of the mysteriousness behind them, as well as showing us, the audience, the Angels moving which ruins the fourth wall break they had with them, because we never saw them moving on-screen because they were always being observed by us, the viewer.
FUCK The Time of Angels, FUCK Flesh and Stone, and FUCK Moffat
Don't worry, there's still hope guys..
Moffat could just decide to actually write the Clara Who spinoff and we just start over from there
clara sucks thou
I think it's fine as an Alien/Aliens thing. After that they were completely played put though
no but it was it's peak. I do think though if they casted someone uglier than tennant we could have avoided the shows tumblrfication
> 11 loved his TARDIS.
the fucking episode where they go to that planet that is actually sentient and the tardis' soul get put into that womens body is pure kino. You can truly see how much he loves the TARDIS and how much it pains him that he couldn't speak to it more
Considering that Chibnall is incredibly lazy, we won't see the return of any of these estalished plotpoints. We won't see Ruth or the CyberTimeLords again, I'm sure of it.
So have a World Enough and Time-tier episode where Sasha Master returns and is redeemed into being an actual character, and in it give him one line that says he lied the whole time and that Ruth was just a fague fake creation, the fanbase will fill in the blanks (robot, mindwiped timelord, zygon, the master in disguise) and move on
Doubt it
Did she visit any of The Doctors early lives?
On audio, there's an episode of Five running into an Angel in Rome, where Michaelangelo is painting the Sistine Chapel. That was pretty good.
agree, plus the way they changed it from "they move so quick a blink and your dead" to moving like they're gasping for some WD-40
much more watchable than 13
The Master was lying/decieved and it turns out the Doctor is just a normal Time Lord after all.
The Timeless Child is actually The Master and the abuse from the experimentation/genetic harvesting is the cause of all his madness along with drums.
Ruth was an incarnation between 2 and 3, used by some renegade Time Lords as a mercenary.
Chibnall gets fired. Preferably out of a fucking cannon into a brick wall.
Jodie regenerates back into a man.
The shitty TARDIS gets remodelled into literally any other design under the sun, I'll even take that junk TARDIS from The Doctor's Wife.
It should've been the master who was the timeless child, it would be a better way of explaining his decision to off the timelords and it would give the viewers and the doctor a way of understanding his pain and anger more
Mate, don't forget the fucking handbrake "TARDIS noise". I've always felt Moffat was trying to piss people off/stir things with that episode.
>"There was something I forgot to say..."
>"Goodbye.."
>"No. I just wanted to say... Hello. Hello Doctor. It's so very nice to finally meet you."
Could do half a series with Clara TARDIS then when she meets with a Doctor incarnation, just flow into his story and keep going from there
That total reboot ain't sounding too bad now.
total reboot? we call that a new season of doctor who mate
>show is put on indefinite hiatus
>returns in 2023 for an anniversay special
>first scene is of a new Doctor waking up in the TARDIS post-regeneration.
>he/she is wearing Capaldi's clothes
BAM
SIMPLE AS THAT
it was a quirky british sci-fi, I don't know how many teenage girls love shows like red dwarf. There was no appeal to that audience other than femcels wanting to fuck the doctor
>he thinks being cute is from appearance
topkek
Him in Amy's bedroom at the end of Big Bang is the gold standard of both of these. So good Moffat tried to replicate it about twenty times.
This series is only a success with the general audience because of the Master, Dhawan carried the series.
So...all the humans are wiped out, right? The cybermen wiped out humanity?
Clara comes back and catches Capaldi before he hits the ground. Jodie's form was just a fever dream. The Doctor wakes up as another man. but Clara is not there anymore.
There fixed it. fuck even the Tardis s pit out that Jodie Doctor, literally shaking her out of itself. not even the Tardis likes a female doctor, especially Jodie.
Remember when we're breaking some series science here boys.
Remember when it was gonna be a whopper.
Remember when he was breaking in his whole new regeneration cycle.
ood companion when
can't wait for BBC audio to release their "timeless" audio boxsets featuring a bunch of diverse hindu and transabled doctors
>Ruth was an incarnation between 2 and 3, used by some renegade Time Lords as a mercenary.
she shouldnt even be the main doctor, she should just be if anything another time lord who called herself the doctor, maybe she can have some memory link shit with him for what every reason
>The Shabogans are the indigenous people of Gallifrey who became the Time Lords by stealing the secrets of regeneration from the Doctor’s DNA
so, the TIME lords became who they are because of regeneration technology? Not because they dominated time-travel and made each discovery under the sun until they became the most advanced species in the universe? It's not about Omega, or Rassilon?
the T I M E lords are who they are because of regeneration?
she's in every one of his generations.
Well Twelve was a whopper at least.
>no Adventures of Clala & Handles
turns out it's just some sale event
Absolutely terrifying.
RIP Handles, 2nd best companion after Wilf.
"The complete history of Gallifrey (slightly redacted), now ON SALE up to 60% off: bgfn.sh
The comments are fucking amazing on their twitter.
"All the characters in these are dead Cybermen now"
Next episode should be 12 waking up on the floor of the TARDIS, saying that was one hell of a weird dream, and we proceed to have at least two more seasons with his incarnation.
I mean, they are
The Doctor died at the end of Twice Upon a Time. It's the kino end and no one will tell me otherwise, it's perfect, it has just the enough amount of tragedy and happiness and sacrifice that I don't want it ruined by some shitty characterless Doc that just stands around in a circle while the men tell her the plot
>Omega, or Rassilon
you know Chibs has no idea who they are.
w2stream
Humanity and Time Lords, all destroyed by cybermen
>Such a lonely little boy.
>Doctor overloads the Gallifrey Matrix by giving it all of her memories
b-but doesn't the Matrix already have her entire life? She's not adding anything new to it.
I know, right, it was great!
Just watched it. Good lord, this is a new low. I'd rather have one of the past Doctors fucking one of his companions for 45 mins straight than ever watch this shitty season again. What a travesty.
basically. just edit out the regeneration just before he changes.
>clara who
>clara gets shot to death
>regenerates because of link with the TARDIS
>regenerates into Peter Capaldi
Who the fuck were the Timeless CHILDREN? Wasn't it just the Doctor?
>procedes to furiously masturbate while looking at a mirror
Chibnall dsoesn't understand regeneration, so he thinks every incarnation is a different person..
did the tardis inject the doctors dna into rory's cum to make river a time lord
Maybe she hadn't uploaded in a while.
Imagine it.
4 billion years worth of an angry scottish man punching a diamond wall.
Or maybe the Matrix couldn't handle how fucking awful S11 and 12 have been and blew up because of that.
>for an hour and a half two parter episode, which gets the highest ratings of any episode ever, each citizen of the UK watching it at least twice
we just saved Doctor Who
Where the fuck is our BAFTA?
No, Amy drugged 11 and fucked him with Rory watching.
11 and 12 were fucking their daughter the entire time.
The doctor had the entire matrix in his head for a while. So the matrix would be trying to download the entire matrix as well.
>Where the fuck is our BAFTA?
You don't get a BAFTA until you've raped at least sixteen children into a permanent vegetative state
Those deep Sottish moans in dolby surround sound.
I would assume that is referring to the timelords, not the actual timeless child.
>Jodie will never have such passion
He had to hot-glue the portrait to the glass
youtube.com
youtube.com
Imagine Jodie trying to do these speeches. Just imagine.
I imss when the only inconsistency in the series was the valyard and 6's new companion coming out of nowhere force feeding him carrots.
Y'know what kills me? This whole thing is for nothing, the episode even establishes that it's for nothing.
I could give an ounce of respect to Chibnall if this was a plot-point that got him to tell an interesting story, but he IMMEDIATELY throws it away by having Ruth show up and say it doesn't matter. The story isn't about the lore reveal. The Doctor isn't changed by it, The Doctor isn't challenged by it enough to change, The Doctor doesn't THINK about it, the climax is LITERALLY about the Doctor ignoring what she just learned this past episode and to go on unchanged.
The story is JUST the lore reveal, it's all it has, boring 40 minutes of the Master narrating some nonsense vignettes.
RIPPING APART THE CANON
DESTROYING THE CHARACTER
57 YEARS OF CREATIVE WRITING BY HUNDREDS OF DIFFERENT WRITERS
POSSIBLY THE BIGGEST COLLABORATIVE WORK OF OUR TIME
ALL OF IT UNDONE
AND IT WAS ALL
FOR
NOTHING
Blows my fucking mind how Chibnall is someone who's into creative writing, because he seems like the least creative nigger to exist.
Fuck it. Doctor Who is gone. It's a show that meant something some years ago, but not it's nothing, it's virtually empty in every way.
What about the Morbius Doctors? That cloud has been hanging over us for a long time.
All she ever does is say huh? Huh?
And hardly ever using the sonic makes her useless
I can easily imagine, she's only got 2 1/2 facial expressions
>he thinks this is the only inconsistency
THIS
worse than hackery, it's pure COWARDICE.
Russel, Moff, whatever retarded shit they came up with, they OWNED that shit, it was their idea and they did something with it.
Ruth showing up to say it doesn't matter is the most pathetic limp-wristed attempt at damage control I've ever seen, it's worse than Rise of Skywalker.
What's the point of a big change if it isn't a change? Either make it a lore-ripping explosion or don't, don't pussy out on both.
STATE of this man, fucking christ
Between this, Star Wars 'Kill the past' and Star Trek becoming a dystopia because Patrick Stewart said so, there seriously seems to be some active group of people aiming to literally kill the past of what people enjoy for no reason but to destroy it.
Part of me wishes it was all part of a bigger conspiracy, and not just random chance that the worst possible people end up in high positions of creative work.
Instead everything good is dying for no reason but random assholes own personal egos.
Fuck this clown world
So since we know Chibnall was involved in the Doctor Who fandom when he was younger and watched mostly during 4th - 6th Doctor's run, what has essentially happened is that he watched Brain of Morbius and back in the day he and his fan friends came up with all these theories and he's had them in his head thinking "One day, I'll prove my theory as CANON" and when that never happened, just wrote it as canon himself, just to laugh at all the fans who rejected his theory back in the day?
He's the equivalent of these fan theory people on forums these days who get mad when their theory isn't correct so they write some "Rewritten" Fanfic.
it's the only one that I cared about.
this shit wasn't series destroying as it is now.
I always thought it was random faces, possibilities of his future selves. it didn't matter since it was a mcguffin. they could easily explain it away as the soctor's mind manipulating the machine.
>this shit wasn't series destroying as it is now.
This is how low expectations for who is
how sad
>soundtrack still not released
god dammit
well, it's literally the end of an era. the show is done. they just keep dragging it on. like the Simpsons.
this is the only time I'd ever be happy with "it was all a dream". to retcon this shit.
>Star Trek becoming dystopia
Is this about Picard or Discovery
We gave it a chance. 2 seasons now, and it hasn't worked at all. Just cancel the show and only when you have an actual plan, then reboot it 2005 style.
>Like the simpsons
>he thinks this started with this season
eternal /fools/ general.
Only Fools and Horses thread. post your favourite moments of the show. Official thread theme: youtube.com
What would he think of the finale?
This. Fuck doctor who now
Granddad or Albert?
Even though I like Capaldi, I disregard the 12th Doctor run as well. Almost as awful as the 13th.
Bring them back.
Yes
Good as it's just his fanfiction that he wrote after he watched The Brain of Morbius and kept in his drawer some where just in case ONE DAY
For a big season ender, which usually means a complete mess, it wasn't bad really.
Still many flaws, and obviously if you hate the retcon it's not gonna win you over, but it was a reasonable plot without anything that was completely retarded, and the Doctor was decent in the bits where she was just reacting to the Master - before she started 'being the Doctor' again.
I think my one big complaint would be all the bad guys just standing there as the good guys decide which of them is going to blow them all to hell. Well, that and the whole idea of the death particle, and how why it would kill beings that can regenerate.
Oh, and that 'Theme music playing montage mindblast' was hilarious, even if it was shit.
I can't believe the time lords just pretended to give the Doctor some new regenerations and he just exploded on Trenzalore.
I miss them more every single fucking day
Yes.
Reminder that Pertwee was a literal WWII commando and giga Chad IRL
If the Doctor hadn’t saved Shelley then none of this would have happened
It started when Jodi and Chibs came on.
if you think it was done during Capaldi's run you're wrong. tho, the moon is an egg episode is where the cracks started to show. but ut was salvageable even still. even with "you know I'm a lesbian right Doctor?" companion. it was still salvageable.
this shit now is just completely off the damn rails. only thing to save it is to retcon it out of existence. just have this be an alternate universe where the doctor after being forced out of the tardis split in two forms, with the female doctor in an alternate reality. would explain why shes an idiot.
>Chibnall being such a moron that he accidentally made it canon that eight of the production team from the classic series are literally their fictional incarnations.
I'm restarting a rewatch of Capaldi's era right FUCKING now, it's the only way to not completely kill my interest in Who.
Fuck, maybe I'll even rewatch An Adventure in Space and Time to honor Hartnell after he got fucking thrown under the bus by this episode.
thread theme.
not sure it it works here but ... youtube.com
i guess that's moffat's confirmation that he truly did love her
Don't watch Twice Upon a Time.
That shits on Hartnell as much as The Timeless Children does.
when he falls through the counter
>he thinks it started with Capaldi
topkek
Just got here from /pol/, they said the first doctor was a black female child refugee.
Is he lying?
No, it doesn't. Hartnell comes off as a chad in it, while 12 comes off like an awkward teenager
nice bait
no
I like it.
fuck /pol/simps but yeah, as far as we know the true "first" incarnation of The Doctor is a black little girl and the second is an asian little girl
When will Lord Grade come riding in on horseback, decapitate Chinballs and then euthanise Doctor Who.
Absolutely fair, for me it's the only true stain in Capaldi's era and it permanently makes me unable to enjoy TUAT
>he says racist things, he chad
m8
Well when do you think the show got stupid? Smith? tennant? fucking Eccleston? (nine was so damn good tho)
>he says racist things, he chad
I don't believe he says anything racist? He asserts his authority over the 12th doctor, him and Bill have a back and forth for a few seconds where him and the soldier bloke have a "monocle pops out" moment, like a carry on film, and then after that it's quite heartfelt. He's very genuine.
AS A WISE MAN ONCE SAID
DOCTOR WHO IS DEAD
youtube.com
She didn't seem to think it was too bad
gonna fucking chin this cunt
>racist
what? when? have you even watched the episode?
autism
Smith. I tried so hard, but was not enjoyable anymore.
youtube.com
>THEME SONG PLAYS EPICALLY
'member Murray Gold?
What the hell was the Brendan stuff? He was the Doctor early on? But he didn't regenerate from that death fall, so that doesn't work. He also started out not just young but an actual baby.
Was he the first white Doctor, to blend in with being in Ireland?
What service had he done by being a plod for decades?
?
?
?
I thought it started declining in season 6, only recovered at times during Capaldi's run, and went to total shit once he regenerated.
Ok. I can understand that. I didn't like Smith right away either. Guess that was the beginning of the end. but that was a long run. Jodies run immediately ruined the series hard.
>has access to a time machine and all the time in the world to set up a genius plan
>walks up to master with bomb
>can't pull trigger
>saved by luck
Really? The same Doctor has used everything from words to people as weapons plan is to fail at suicide?
What the fuck did I just watch?
The show got dumb with literally the first fucking episode, in which Mickey turns into plastic and talks about pizza. Sometimes it blows my mind the things people are willing to forgive Russel for but not Moff.
Having said that, it was always dumb, but it was also always fun, and sometimes even kino.
Chibnall isn't dumb nor fun nor kino.
Infact, his show is not anything
so before I sit down and force myself to watch this...let me get this straight.
The doctor isn't a time lord anymore?
The time lords stole everything from a little black girl, who is the real doctor?
Rassilon doesn't exist?
If they're not the same species, where did Susan come from?
>the second is an asian little girl
Can I get a picture of the second doctor?
The Brendan stuff was the Time Lords trying to obfuscate the information in the Matrix.
Most time lords that would see it would think they're seeing some weird Irish indestrctible Irish orphan.
Only the Master hacked through that and found the actual story.
Yes it's retarded.
That was as auton and they are made of plastic? Whats the problem?
So what part of it represented learning regeneration / using his genes?
So humanity and the time lords are all dead?
>so before I sit down and force myself to watch this
don't. rewatch a good episode instead.
She is his daughter. Just ignore the Chibbs fan-fiction.
>When Ryan hit that throw
SWISH!
shame they're like kazakh or something not japanese
>That was as auton and they are made of plastic?
that's not the problem, it's just a ridiculous dumb scenario. Fucking shiny black guy acting all wacky and taking in wine corks in his forehead. It's all very very stupid.
But then again, it's fun, it's Doctor Who.
I'll watch it. I bothered to pirate it, and I want to see how bad they fuck it up.
Feel free to suggest a palate cleanser though?
Fridge logic
>Does this mean we will get adventures of the doctor before Hartnell? Like big finish and all that?
>Did the Hartnell doctor escape because he didn't want to be brainwashed?
>Was Susan really his grandkid?
>Did Omega and Rasilon have nothing to do with the culture despite being shown to have such in classic who?
>How did river get the ability to regenerate? 11 says it was the time vortex. Clearly not now. Did 11 secretly fuck Amy? Did the Silence genetically modify River and, if so, why didn't they just use that tech on their own soldiers?
>Was the Irish kid thing just an illusion? A past life? If they were all Time Lords why was he the only one to age?
>How has the Doctor never met pre Hartnell doctors before this?
>Why does the modern Master keep getting involved with Cybermen? It reeks of unoriginality
>If Ace was going to the Time Lord Academy, was she going to be genetically modified too?
>WTF was all that shit 7 said hinting he was a Time Lord creator? If they were going the Longbarrow route with that 30 yrs ago it obv isn't canon anymore, but you could argue with the current reveal that 7 could still have known his origins and it would still apply in this case he was a Time Lord originator. But in this case you could then say why the hell didn't all the subsequent Doctors? Is 7 just insane and egomaniacal then? Or did that all just stop being canon in the new show?
>Was the Doctor just attending the academy constantly and having their memory wiped until the day they became the Hartnell doctor, grew old and escaped? Why did the Master know him as a little girl, if each regeneration he had his memory wiped? The Master should have know pre Hartnell doctors by that logic so wtf is going on?
who the fuck approved the name "shabogan"
>Feel free to suggest a palate cleanser though?
The true finale of Doctor Who, commonly known as "World Enough and Time" and "The Doctor Falls"
i haven't watched this crock of shit since The Doctor Falls (best episode of the revival), did they even make a new Cyberman design?
Noice. I'll watch those after it.
WTF is the Division? what happened to the CIA thing the 2nd Doctor was roped into?
The Timeless Benni
Lungbarrow would have been better than this
hut up mysogynist! racist! man! white man! ewww! how dare you pick apart a female Doctor!
>commonly known as "World Enough and Time" and "The Doctor Falls"
The latter ruined the former.
>great body horror setup, cybermen used properly for the first time since tenth plane
>next episode they get jetboots and start shouting delete
Yes.
>The doctor isn't a time lord anymore?
He's also not a renegade time lord who decided by himself to leave Gallifrey and explore the universe and help people. He's LITERALLY the Chosen One and the most important person to ever live, literally and not figuratively.
>The time lords stole everything from a little black girl, who is the real doctor?
The little black girl they stole regeneration from.
The regeneration tech was also the main base for Time Lord society, not Omega or Rassilon. TIME Lords are all about regeneration, actually.
>Rassilon doesn't exist?
He just gets completely shafted lore-wise.
>If they're not the same species, where did Susan come from?
D-don't you get it? Doctor Who is about the mystery!
Chibnall is a hack, that's the answer
>thinking capaldi period is the true finale of Doctor Who
topkek
To get to this point you have to stomach all the shit tier episodes of capaldi to get there.
ok as a cyberfag that's a pretty fucking based design. do they still just talk like deep voiced daleks though or is the EEEEXCELLENT voice back?
>The Master gloats about how the Doctor shouldn't even TRY to escape Gallifrey, because it's impossible.
>Leaves two TARDISs intact right near where he had his big conversation with her
Also, why did the episode not explain whatsoever why The Boundary was a portal to Gallifrey?
>the division
a waste of time that will never be mentioned again. A useless mystery box to make you think the doctor had some amazing unknown past.
He was a mad man with a box that is all he needed to be. Why people can't understand this is beyond me
Sienfeldgivingup.gif
So glad I didn't watch this run.
I think I'm most pissed about the lore. Rassilon and Omega could've still invented Time Travel but it just seems so sloppy. They were literally in Classic Who and those things were discussed AS FACT
Doctor Who was special.
Before Jodie, everyone acknowledged that Doctor Who was bad.
We all accepted it, but we watched it for the Doctor, who carried the show.
And we watched it for those rare fantastic episodes.
Capaldi got Heaven Sent.
Smith got Vincent and the Doctor.
Tennant got Human Nature/Family of Blood.
Eccleston got The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances.
But Jodie hasn't got anything.
She doesn't have the passion/charisma/acting ability to carry the show like the 12 people before her, she doesn't even stand up to Hurt or Cushing either.
And she hasn't had a single episode which blows the rest of the season out of the water, like the 12 before her had.
why do you hate 'delete' and cyber jetpacks so much? I've never once been bothered by flying cybermen
Its the same voice. Except for their leader who just talks like a human with a vague synthy echo after.
Cybusmen only had brains.
well they lost all what infinitesimal amount of faith in their redesign for that.
that half-cybercunt is pretty cool tho
...
We didn't know how lucky we were with Murray. Akinola was trying so hard this whole episode to make his new Cyberman theme work and it just doesn't.
Because some mad retard saw the Cartmel Masterplan and thought "that sounds good, but it's not retarded enough" and then that same man became showrunner.
Why 1940s Ireland? Rassilon confirmed for being a Irish fan?
>thinking The Doctor Falls is about the Cybermen
nigger you have to stomach all the shit tier episodes of whatever Doctor to get to the good ones, what are you talking about?
but the plan was never to confirm the doctor was the other. Yeah it would be hinted at but you are supposed to create mystery.
Is he just a mad man or is he something more? Maybe its all a lie, he is kind of crazy.
Buy yeah like you said retarded
I thought it worked for Lone Cyberman, but not for the Cybermen in general.
Ryan's dyspraxia is just there when they need to conveniently add tension to a specific moment so they can be like "CAN RYAN DO IT? WILL HE DO IT?" and then he does it anyways.
and calaldi had a way higher ratio than most of the others
topkek
nah doctor who is dead.
only fools and horses now
>Capaldi had more shit episodes than Tennant or Smith or Colin or Davison
>Tenant or Smith had more quality episodes than Capaldi
based topcuck
Did Tom Baker know about those regens in Morbius? Is that why they appeared, if we now know they're canon Doctor? And why did they pop up if his brain was wiped? He shouldn't have remembered them. And if they appeared because the game he was playing pulled them from the deep recesses of his brain, why only show a handful?
Doctor Who is dead.
has been*
>Doctor sacrifices himself saving the lives of those on the ship, however small
>Missy chooses to side with the Doctor, both Masters stabbing each other in the back.
>Missy dies, the Doctor never finds out that she chose to help him in the end.
>Nardole goes off with them
>Cyberman Bill finds him
>Poses and cries
>Carries him
>Leaves him in the TARDIS to rest
>Big funeral with former companions
>Bill then proceeds to either tragically shut down or the puddle shit happens depending on which you prefer.
The end. Or you can throw in Twice Upon a Time and thats when he dies.
Still brings in millions of views, mate. It's alive and kicking, as much as you hate that fact.
If Moffat hadn't backtracked with the Time War none of this would have happened.
I had an instant strong dislike to that second Angels story. I think there were even bits in how they behaved that contradicted each other within the 2-parter.
They really don't know wtf to do with the Cybermen in nuWho, do they? Everytime we see them they change drastically in appearance, theme, motive... it makes them so less threatening. Daleks have at least been a little more consistent, Jesus
To be fair, the first batch we saw were from an alternate universe.
Oh yeah, she just forgot to tell 12 that he had all those other lives.
If the Doctor can regenerate endlessly why was old 11 legit dying and needed new energy sent through the time crack?
Why did the Master think his new Cybermen had infinite regenerations? They were made with regular, 12 max Time Lords.
Your question is a faggot's question. They didnt cast the Doctor based on race before-as long as they could play a time-grampa and accept the pay. They chose the best ones for the role who tried out. The overwhelming population is white. Odds are it was gonna be white as long as this holds true.
But let's assume they DID cast based on race...guess what- that's what sells. That's what appeals to the vast majority of the vastly white audience. That's what the vast majority of the audience relate to and enjoy seeing.
