Science, or at least scientific study, is heavily affected by contemporary politics. It's why a nobel prize winner got ostracized from the scientific community for suggesting that race exists. It's why people saying the earth is round were ostracised from society centuries ago. Liberals would be denying loads of scientific findings as well if they were allowed to be carried out, especially in the field of biology. But they're not because doing a study on say alternate cures for gender dysphoria would be social suicide.
