I watched the original series with Aang and I enjoyed it. Never got around to watching pic related though

I, for one, am glad it exists that way we don't get retarded Dr. Who franchise where the MC changes to a new "Avatar" every couple of seasons.

The biggest sin is almost no reference to Sokka, the chaddest character from the original series. Fucking cabbagefag got a god damn statue, Sokka got a flashback where he got bloodbended. Unforgivable

S2 killed all the mystery of the spirit world
Sokka literally gets mentioned on the first episode by her sister, saying he's dead, Azula also gets no mention. maybe both ran away and lived together happyly afterwards

It's legitimately baffling how Sokka just kind of was written out of the show outside of a single flashback where he says "Toph and Katara are strong." Katara is in the pilot and featured here and there, Toph kicks the badguy's ass twice and trains the protag, Zuko shows up and his daughter and grandson kick ass for a while... And then Sokka (And Sukki to a lesser extent but she was like part of the C team) gets zero mention. No "Oh there goes Sokka's son on the council" no "Ah yeah Sokka developed the intercontinental rail system" or any mention that he ever lived. Shit, give me a "My brother died defending one of the Avatars" line from Katara and I'd be happy

It's an utterly blink and you miss it line, with zero context of what happened, how he lived his life, was he just an old dude who caught pneunoma or did he get killed during a Lotus raid, a protester killing him, what. Plus, zero offspring from him considering Aang and Katara's kids are basically the protags of the series, Toph's kids are the secondary protags, and Zuko's grandson gets to fuck around on aiprlanes.

Remember that they spent an entire season forgetting to show why the fascist was actually wrong since everything shown on screen (not just stuff mentioned by characters) was her doing everything she could to rebuild a nation that had been thrown into chaos by war, two generations of incompetent rulers and anarchist revolutionaries and through sheer force of will rebuild it into a stable, safe and rising country while the leader of the strongest city-state who the good guys were allied with basically went "not my problem" and cloistered herself allowing the world outside of her walls to go to shit.

They screwed up so badly in showing why Kuvira was wrong that the only out they could come up with was to have her build Liberty Prime for no reason and say she was wrong for trying to take back Republic City, a portion of the Earth Kingdom that Aang (some with no political authority) and Zuko broke off after going back on their deal with the Earth King because it wasn't politically expedient for Zuko to honor it. Somehow this meant that letting the Earth Kingdom turn into a liberal Republic headed by the foppish heir to the previous two incompetent rulers of the state (who himself shows no signs of competency either) was the right thing in the end, even though Republic City (its inspiration) was a shithole filled with crime and poverty.

Legend of Korra is a bad show with bad writing from start to finish. It's not "okay", it's not mediocre, it's not even sub-par. It is bad, bad, BAD.

This, Kurvyraaa literally got redemption on the afterwards comics and barely anyone talks about it
