The twist should be at the midpoint (“Gone Girl”) or the end of the second act (“Fight Club”) to give the audience and characters time to react to it.
If there’s one in the resolution, it should be smaller—an answer to an important question or backstory that exists out of the main character arcs ( the father opening his shirt and revealing his scars at the end of “Raw”)
