Definitely not whatever contrarian shit that’s going to get mentioned in this thread

Paranormal Activity was very spoopy. I watched it late at night in the dark and it legit scared me.

Possession

name one scary movie, dicknose

unironically Paranormal Activity 3.

the blair witch project

It depends OP. Not all type of horror is the same.

No movie is really scary, horror movies are more about admiring the film-making and the the sadistic aspect of watching a character suffer.

Ringu
Eraserhead

your mom's sex tape

i'll admit i got a little spooked by the Hereditary finale in the theatre. the head-banging scene that gets memed here was actually surprising and unnverving

blacked porn

Agreed. Back when it was a relatively fresh thing the whole format of the movie fucked with me like nothing else. I was also lucky enough to see it with a theater that was genuinely into it, so all the scares felt a lot stronger. Had trouble sleeping for a week.

Jacob's Ladder
The Haunting of Hill House
The Exorcism of Emily Rose
OP pic related

fuck off with this movie. you people memed me into watching it and it was terrible.

I think the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre is pretty unnerving.

ok

Some boring shit where nothing happens that lets me pretend I'm super smart when other people claim it's boring.

Gremlins 2

Ex machina. Shows just how much someone (specifically a lonely man like most of the people on this board) can be taken advantage of. Obviously the AI is fiction right now, but it could be a person instead and it would be realistic.

REC. The only good ff movie and is fucking terrifying especially the finale

The original Halloween is pretty spooky. After I had seen it for the first time I kept expecting to see Michael Myers white mask behind every dark corner.

Mulholland Drive

Watched the feminist remake 2 days ago. What did I think of it?

Suspiria. Loud and violent, but in a dark room you can really get immersed and the tension gets stretched out so long it’s almost unbearable.

>Paranormal Activity
One of the worst thing to ever come out of the "horror" genre. Boring af, badly acted, dumb as fuck script. Absolutely inconceivable how anyone could like that pile of shit.

The climax gave me fear-tears.

none. movies aren't scary and never will be

I've heard that [REC] and The Fourth Kind are both good. Are they?

What should go in the other 3 spots?

Attached: spook kino.jpg (1500x1484, 274K)

This was pretty good actually. Too bad it's all bullshit.

I would add Funny Games(either one of them).

You have to let yourself go and be immersed in the movie, if you do, alot of movies are scarey. If you dont do this, no movie will be scarey.

I haven't seen REC since it came out but I remember it being mostly boring other than the ending.

REC

>legitimately scary
Nothing.

I thought sinister was pretty well done

Fucking A, saved for future trolling purposes.

soiposters are cancer

Event Horizon gave me a nightmare as an adult.
Zombie movies gave me loads of nightmares, but I was a kid then so I don't count it.

The Babadook is SOO scary!

Real life horror kino

m.youtube.com/watch?v=DoPsjWqvwT4

solomon's abduction in 12 years a slave is terrifying

I watched it on a laptop in the dark, in the bed with my then-girlfriend, at 2am, and it scared the piss out of me. It was a pretty fresh idea and was easy to be immersed in the atmosphere I was in. If you hate these movies or seen the other shitfest sequels, don't bother, but it's a creepy movie.

kekd @ dicknose

Event Horizon is a mess of a movie. The first twenty minutes are interesting and then it just devolves into a mishmash of ideas from other better movies, and the last fifteen minutes are complete cringe. That fistfight between Sam Neill and Laurence Fishburne is completely ridiculous, and even had those over-the-top “PSSSH!” punching sound effects. God damn that movie is terrible, yet I know so many intelligent people who think it’s one of the scariest movies ever.

>It Follows
The first half is pure kino, the second half is actually borderline bad.
>Lake Mungo
I will never get this meme, besides that one scene, the movie is boring, unscary, and worthless

why yes I do allow myself to be immersed in movies to the point where I can find them scary without feeling the need to swear them off for fear of being called a wimp, how could you tell?

Attached: ch.jpg (912x1024, 71K)

This is still scary.

And the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Never seen it but that sounds cool.

Lake Mungo is a creepypasta in movie form. If you get bored easily by setup then it isn't for you.

Blair Witch ain't scary lmao, it's just some dipshits crying in the woods

The German one is superior.

I'm fine with setup, it's just this setup and payoff is uninteresting

Reminder that skinny poos and chinkfems are the predominant soiposters site-wide

my childhood home backed onto one of the areas where they shot. i navigated it on my own when i was 4 years old. one of the busiest highways in the world is like 2 miles away.
it drove me crazy watching it
>im pretty sure i had a picnic with my family there

I'll honestly take an entire movie being nothing but setup for one decent scene which is genuinely unsettling over all these shitty movies that keep throwing shit at the wall but nothing will stick.

That entire movie was a phoned-in joke. Oscar bait garbage with no effort put forth by anyone involved because they were gonna get a free pass by making yet another slave movie. If any part of that bland, dry-ass movie moved you in any way at all, you must get weepy over Tom and Jerry cartoons.

I want to like this movie but I fucking hate split screen shit in films

No such thing. Only women and children find movies "scary."

The Bare Pimp Projecte

Hello, based departe

The scariest horror I've seen is The Thing. The original, not the remake.

I'm assuming it's abject trash.

kek

Same I had to walk my dog in the woods at night and that movie ruined it for me.

I haven't seen it, why is it scary?

kek, didnt know they made a remake recently

Attached: black-christmas.jpg (1280x720, 565K)

So the old black and white one with the vegetable man?

good for you for being different, user; keep that chin up and be proud of yourself!

I also love the way Noroi: The Curse creeps into your dreams. Especially after second and 3rd viewing. Jesus H Christ

I like horror movies, from cheap trash filled with jumpscares to the onions horror classics like Babadook, but I dont find any of them scary. I mean I get startled sometimes with jumpscares but if we're talking about leaving an impact on me, I'd say The Fly. When I love a movie I rewatch it 10 times but Ive just seen The Fly twice.

Is this thread sign that we need to get /ffg BACK?

Quit larping. Blacks don't know their fathers

The Thing should be in boomer onions.

what's scary is totally subjective

some movies I find scary some people wouldn't

it's incredible how nothing happening is way scarier than something "scary" happening

Oculus (2013)

The Grifter

so, there's this documentary with archive footage and filmed recreations. that's pretty scary to me. 4 hours of dread and horror
watch it

Fucking loved this movie. I don't care what anyone says. This movie is basically the Paranormal Activity formula perfected. Amazing how just adding a rotating camera adds so much extra tension to the scenes and the movie's climax is balls to the wall in the best kind of way.

This post gave me cancer.

Both Suspiria movies are fucking kino.

>Jacob's Ladder
Came here to say this. So good

Yeah and it's about them fighting toxic masculinity, in the most literal sense.

Not really, she's got a cabbage patch face.

That would be I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House then... Very aesthetic, put more or less nothing happens

Ex Machina sucks dick. It's LOOK MOM IM DIRECTING tier garbage.

I hate basedopinions as much as the next guy, but not all these films are bad, and quite a few are actually good... And of course, some of the arguments are legitimate: as for being scary, for instance, that all depends on the audience, some people just remain like a lump of wood through pretty much anything, others think a good horror film is loud and jumpy. And I'm not even against jumpscares, I love some dank Conjuring stuff!

complete brainlet opinion

Agreed, that kind of messed with me (briefly), especially when the demon's face is on the computer, paused frame, and turns to look at Ethan Hawke... Major sp00k
Blackcoat's Daughter also stayed with me for a long time, it beautiful to look at, and kind of gnaws at you

This scared the crap out of me.

Ex Machina is to cinema what Greta Van Fleet is to Led Zeppelin.

Only in the US. It was a british film distributed by Film4. Better luck next time, faggot.

Oh yes, that one is good, right mix of slow build-up and scary payoff, and good Jeff Grace music

It's a miniseries but Salem's lot.

You're right, what a classic.

I'm glad you agree. Thanks for understanding.

>The Exorcism of Emily Rose

That exorcism scene always gives me goosebumps. She played a damn good demon possessed bitch
I AINT NEVER BEEN SO FRISKY IN MY ENTIRE LIFE

The scene with the window?

Pet sematary (the original one)

>he was looking at her face

The Exorcist isn't scary at all, it's just a really damn good drama

I find the part where the kid is at the hospital pretty unnerving, even if it's just a medical procedure.

yeah I can see that, first time I watched it I was grossed out

fuckin zelda

The film is pretty bad, however, the concepts are what is terrifying about it.

The only thing that scared me as a kid was the semi-reality paranormal TV shows. I was terrified as a kid that a Bélmez Face was going to appear on my wall.

Needs to be a version of this but for AAA video games

There's no such thing as a scary movie in 2019 lmao. Most of us have been watching real gore videos since we were kids, you think anything fictional can bother us now?

It follows more like shit follows

why did she waste that apple fucking dumb bitch think apples grow on trees smfho
