Most of the time Tom is just protecting his home until that little shit decides to make his life a living hell for several minutes.

People say childhood is siding with Jerry but I always preferred Tom. Watching the Magic Ring when I was a kid cemented that for me.

There's way too many episodes where jerry starts shit solely because the mamy in the house threaten to kick him out for petty shit. And that's not even counting when spike just threaten to skin him alive.

I liked Tom better and tended to identify with him because had pet cats when I was a kid and liked cats. I really, really wanted to see him kill and eat Jerry.

There are some episodes where Tom is in the wrong, though. Usually they involve him trying to impress a woman.
