Why do brainlets think he’s obscurantist? There’s hardly been a work of philosophy more profound, expanseous and beautiful than the Hegelian ouevre, bar nobody. The whole of philosophy is caught in hegels project, and is nowhere better exemplified.

Now, I have to admit that I couldn't read at all and take your problem to be complete bullshit.

Go to the shower and sleep. To work tomorrow. No other advice will come.

>Why do brainlets think he’s obscurantist?
Because that's what Hegal literally tells you he's doing in the preface.

Op came to rescue your brainlets, let them have it

>he thinks this is what Hegel says in the preface

Nothing against Hegel's actual content, but he can't write worth a shit. There's a reason why other philosophers can summarize and communicate to the masses, and it generally strengthens their arguments and allows their ideas to be discussed and spread by a much larger portion of people. I don't think Hegel is an obscurantist, but it certainly doesn't help his philosophy when even today the biggest arguments about him are whether or not we even understand him.

hegel is literally just enlightenment era empedocles with one less fundamental element, prove me wrong

this is literally the case for every revolutionary work of philosophy though

Name one other case of "revolutionary work" that nobody understands

The Ethics
CoPR
TLP
Being and Time

The Holy Bible.

Literally all of Derrida, difference and repetition, tractatus, being and time, hell, late heidegger is a much stronger example too. Name one criticism of Wittgenstein other than kripke. Plenty of people understood Hegel and the next several decades in philosophy were everyone’s disagreements with hegel, the same happened with kant and Aristotle.

What?

That dude changed my life desu.

stop using acronyms without any context you fucking autist

>Why do brainlets think he’s obscurantist
Were Schopenhauer and Russell brainlets?

>philosopher, logician, mathematician, historian, writer, essayist, social critic, political activist, and Nobel laureate

> His work has had a considerable influence on mathematics, logic, set theory, linguistics, artificial intelligence, cognitive science, computer science (see type theory and type system) and philosophy, especially the philosophy of language, epistemology and metaphysics.

Not bad for retard

are you quoting Wikipedia or something? read his work and then try to defend his critique of Hegel, retard. Russell was a grade A pseud when it came to philosophy and was the biggest hypocrite of all time, constantly making moral statements and pushing political agendas while also simultaneously trying to reduce the entirety of philosophy to a few primitive notions and inference rules, resulting in a quasi-logical positivism of sorts. I'm a analytic fag and even I know Russell was a hack.

these are the people I debate philosophy with

Where the fuck did this come from all of a sudden

Do people carry around this book on campus thinking it will get them pussy or something? No one can tell me with a straight face they read THAT in their spare time for "fun" unless you are an angsty 17 year old.
A few years ago, it was Plato's "The Cave" analogy that was everywhere. Is Hegel and his "phenomenology" the new one?

Please, no womanposting on Yea Forums, even as a joke.

h-heh, yeah that would be totally w-weird

Attached: 1522433171815.png (625x728, 83K)

what is that's the whole reason he's still talked about in the first place?

>womanposting on Yea Forums, even as a joke.
woman posting? There are currently 4 threads on this board on this fucker. If i'm supposedly in the 99th percentile verbally on every standardized exam going against vicious Jews, cheating chinks, and paneers who just memorize things--and I find him useless and unintelligible-- what are the odds people posting here really "understand" it and are not carrying it around just hoping they might get a piece of ass to sniff around them? pro-tip= it won't.
Hegel is something people try to work into their senior thesis at 20 to seem smart and then are embarrassed about it a few years later. I just wonder which heeb set the "party line" this year that there are so many idiots posting about it here...

and just like any good work in post-roman philosophy nothing of value has been done with this book of empty thoughts

>expanseous

We both know that you wouldn't call him pseud or retard if you were having this conversation in public.

Well then, I'm in luck, I haven't had a conversation in public since 2004.

>not abbreviating Being and Time as S&Z to make mad

>Why do brainlets think he’s obscurantist?
He was probably crystal clear to the circle of philosophers around his time, but damn this guy was really enmeshed in technical jargon.
