as far as character growth goes, amity is a good example of a misunderstood antagonist turned hero. solid reasoning (if not too dodgy for my taste) and will to change make it all worthwhile.
my main complaint is the lumity executions. plain and simple, that is NOT how relationships go. the actions of luz went completely unpunished (after lying and hindering her girlfriend's wants) and instead met by
encouragement. i wanted to see amity MAD at luz, saying "yes! i love you! but you lied to me! can you please talk to me before acting so irrationally?". luz already forgot what she told amity at ep11.
That would be the wrong way to react, though.
And she was mad.
yeah it would made some arguments, but that's how you make a good relationship. amity loves her, she'll keep being at her side, but there must be a line where luz gotta stop putting her own interests in front of her before her girlfriend. no matter how tragic it might be, there is a way to talk about it and not go "she'll understand". what would you think is a good reply, then?

Amity handled it greatly. Amity was mad, and she made Luz know that her action hurt her. But she listened to Luz's reason, and decided based on that.
The way you'll do it, will basically make your partner not be able to open up to you.
but there was no outtake. it doesn't look like luz learned something or promised to improved. it might happen again and again and again, someone needs to cut the source! basic communication is key when relationships are on the line and what luz did is basically shoving her partner aside! character flaws are important, yes, but someone gotta respond to them, and frankly i don't know if they'll survive another case of this.
It's clear enough that Luz understands this. There is no need to say it out loud.
yes there is, something so important- at least in my opinion, must be stated in stone. too much has been happening between them to now make it a past by an argument of misunderstandings.
