I think you wrong I see it this way Ahsoka dies in the final so a dying Ahsoka gives Anakin permission to inhabit her body so he comes back as a woman. This way he gets to atone for his past crimes as Vader and all is right with the world again.
Freely admit I don't like Ahsoka as a character and one of my problems was she's overly reliant on Anakin to the point she's not much of a character without him. I was at least vaguely interested in how they were going to write her when Anakin is completely out of the picture but they're bringing him back as a force ghost? She's really nothing without him is she?

It still ruins the impact of RoTJ if he keeps switching back and forth between Anakin and Vader every time he meets and faces off against someone he once knew. That ending works because we are led to believe he became Vader and that was it until Luke managed to pull him back. It doesn't hit the same if someone already did that to him before.
If they could actually come up with a good story I'd give Rey another chance. The problem is they'd also have to jettison the entirety of the ST since it was all complete shit in terms of characterization (and not just for Rey, no one got good characterization in the ST imo). So basically starting from scratch, like when we first met Rey in TFA but removing all the rest of that movie and TLJ and ROS. But Disney apparently can't write original Star Wars for shit so that's never going to happen.

Exactly this. The whole point of their confrontation in Rebels is that even though Anakin briefly surfaced it was Anakin who said she'd have to die. Nothing can affect Anakin's redemption until Luke in the OT.
Agreed. For as much as the ST cost to produce it had just awful writing (and no planning of course). Seriously there are SW fans films that are much much better written than what JJ and RJ gave us in the ST. Filoni at least understands but also cares about the characters, JJ/RJ/KK/etc don't understand nor care about them.
