I feel like if Nickelodeon actually bothered to put it on their main channel, rather than burying it on Netflix, the show would have become a massive success. Probably SpongeBob/Loud House tier, since Kids love Video Games
I feel like if Nickelodeon actually bothered to put it on their main channel, rather than burying it on Netflix...
I don't know. It was an adequate show, but I don't know if it has the intergenerational appeal of SpongeBob. It may had gotten, like, one more season, if even that.
I disagree with anyone who says this. Shouldn't being on Netflix have actually HELPED Glitch Techs? Cable TV is dying, so making the show instantly accessible to streamers on NETFLIX of all places (not some random one like Peacock or Paramount+) would give GT all the reach it could ever ask for, shit marketing aside. If having its 20 episodes split into two batches still wasn't enough to make the show popular enough to convince Nick and/or Netflix to revive the series, then I guess it just wasn't as successful as everyone was hoping it'd be.
Being on Netflix was the best thing that could've happened, but original cartoons just don't typically fare well on that streaming service. Even Green Eggs and Ham S2 has been struggling to turn heads. Seems the only animated content that ever reaches Netflix's Top 10 these days are older, acquired movies that normies get nostalgic for (e.g. Shrek, Despicable Me).

Just because a song is on Spotify doesn’t mean people will listen. It has reach but not visibility. If it plays on the radio or on tv, more people are likely to search for it on streaming platforms as well. Increased accessibility alone does not increase viewership
Who actually pays attention to anything airing on Nickelodeon that isn't SpongeBob-related tho? Glitch Techs airing on Nick wouldn't have helped all that much.

I don't see it. It's obviously written by boomers and made for coomers. Probably it'd get a similar audience to modern cartoons like The Lesbian House or Steven the lesbian.
Why are you so doubtful?
It's been two years since Glitch Techs came out, and even longer since the crew had been working on Season 2. Neither Netflix nor Nickelodeon have shown any growing interest in giving the show another try, and the fandom is near nonexistent these days. It's gotten to the point where even an Infinity Train revival seems more likely than anything more with Glitch Techs.
Trust me, I would love for the show to get another chance, but that just doesn't seem very likely. Venture Bros. and Tuca & Bertie are proof that some shows CAN be saved after getting their cancellation announced, but it's just been too long for Glitch Techs by now. I don't even know what Dan and Eric are up to these days.
I believe Dan is working on another show, while Eric is in between jobs.
Aren't there shows that gotten uncanceled after far longer periods, though?
Children. Ya know, the actual demographic cartoons are supposed to reach?
If it was on Nick and the cast and crew were still around? Maybe another season, three seasons tops.
>Aren't there shows that gotten uncanceled after far longer periods, though?
Sure. The ones that were revived over a decade later due to nostalgia. No idea if Glitch Techs will magically become some cult classic years from now, but anything's possible I guess.
Well then the kids watching Nick only care about SpongeBob and The Loud House (to a lesser extent). Doesn't seem like action cartoons are received by the target demographic like back in the 2000s. Not sure why that is.
Of course. But you have to spread the word about it.
One thing I really loved about the show was how it starred a male/female friendship and didn't waste time creating any romantic tension between the two. Five and Miko were just so cute together, and I was excited to see where Five's relationship with Zahra would go.
Yea Forums needs more It's Pony threads
Mayumi Kubota's ass.
For what purpose?
It's a charming and funny show. Definitely one of the better original Nicktoons of the last decade.
Go on…
Contrary to popular belief the "dump everything all at once" model doesn't really work for tv shows because it inhibits discussion and excitement for future episodes. You just have to look at how dead discussion of that new Jojo season on Yea Forums is as proof.
I miss Welcome to the Wayne.
Still, splitting the season into two batches definitely gave Glitch Techs more shelf life. Would've been far worse had Netflix dumped all 20 episodes in one day.
If allowing the show a good 6 months or so to prove it's profitable didn't work, then I guess GT just couldn't make the cut. Netflix gave it a chance, no matter how minor.
Except they didn't advertise it in the slightest, if you didn't already know about it then you probably never would.
damn shame innit
Her show may be over, but I will never stop thinking of this absolute goddess.
Nothing would have saved this because no one legitimately cared outside of Miko porn
Wrong. There were plenty people who genuinely liked Glitch Techs for the action or fun character dynamics, but the pedos took control of everything long before the show ever premiered. There were SO many GT threads I had to avoid because they were clearly just Miko image dumps. Gravity Falls threads are kind of like that, too.
Mayumi, my beloved~
You sick fuck.
I watched all of season 1 and there was literally nothing good about it except the intro 2 parter and the Castlevania episode.
I will never understand Yea Forums's obsession with it that doesn't deal with Miko's ass and them self-inserting as Five.
Children dont watch Nickelodeon. They're watching Dream or Markiplier or Jacksepticeye.
>Not sure why that is.
Kids being raised on '10s cartoons when action cartoons became less and less common.
On some level I think it was just Dan Milano was hard to work with or caused some behind the scenes drama. It just feels too much like a Dana Terrace like situation, actually the product he put out was better than Owl House s1 by a long shot, but was never given a chance.... as soon as it was announced it was being dumped on Netflix everyone knew the show was doomed.
Nick sending one of its office shills to constantly shit up and put down the show in the threads when it was going on was cringe as fuck though.
God Miko has such a massive ass.
hinobi tech is implied to be the bad guy due to that ending
I like Miko
Two batchs is nothing compared to weekly updates, all they had to do was do what they did with arcane and drop 3 or 2 episodes a week. Imagine if owl house just dropped all eps at once when ever a season was done no way would it have been as popular.
because they focused on their mutual love for games instead of interpersonal stuff.
made for corruption
This is perfectly okay show and I do believe it could've had organic (moderate) success, but not on 2010s Nickelodeon. It probably would've done best on Disney or Disney XD.
>Shouldn't being on Netflix have actually HELPED Glitch Techs?
No, because, like Twelve Forever, it was dead on arrival. If the PRODUCTION had moved to Netflix it would've helped and Netflix would've actually spent time and money promoting it (like they did with Cuphead). But that's not what happened. And Glitch Techs is not a Netflix original. It's a Nickelodeon original that finished production before it began airing that was then dumped on Netflix.
It won't be an icon, but it has the capacity to be mainstay for 2-3 years.
>show ends just when it starts getting interesting
Many such cases.
Does it end on a cliffhanger or something?
I'm two episodes in, and I want to bury my face in Miko's ass.
Why did they make an underage character look like this?
The actress who voice the girl is actually cute
Unfortunately.
If something I hope Harvey Beaks get a revival.
Eh, why not.
They knew exactly what they were doing.
>the show would have become a massive success.
I agree while at the same time disagree, The suits at nick are cheapskates even if the show was pulling the numbers the show was more expensive to produce that Spongebob or Loudhouse so either the suit axe it because it simply didn't make the money returns they wanted or heavily cut budget and later seasons make the show look like crap.
Based
>ah yes, puberty boy - your partner will be this cute 5'0 teen girl who is super touchy-feely, and constantly presents her amazing ass in tight clothing
What was her endgame?
Big fat Asian butt.
I agree.
Autism.
