I'm posting some of my favorite artistic interpretations of Batman. Feel free to post some of yours. I will start off with Moebius's Batman

Will Eisner drew Batman as this towering, bodybuilder type.

I'm a huge fan of Kelley Jones and his take on Batman. Wish more comics would go back to this look

Attached: Kelley Jones Batman.jpg (550x413, 74.04K)

Bisley's Batman is so over the top and gritty I can't help but love it. Certainly one of the most unique

Attached: Bisley Batman.jpg (840x1200, 211.69K)

Marshal Rodgers is always unfortunately overshadowed by Neal adams but his take was great.

Attached: lf.jpg (1991x3000, 1.73M)

Enrique Alcatena draws the greatest old school Batman without a doubt

Attached: Alcatena Batman.jpg (920x1405, 449.12K)

Scott Hampton is a severely underrated artist. His Batman is one of the most beautiful takes

Attached: Hampton Batman.jpg (1284x1905, 762.24K)

Glad to see Bisley and Scott here. Cool picks OP.

Jae Lee has a really cool well done take on Batman.

Attached: Jae Lee Batman.png (1000x1501, 629.53K)

OP here, I didn't post Marshall Rogers so give credit to that user for his exquisite taste. Thanks regardless

Tim Sale

These alongside David Mazzucchelli (Year One), Lee Bermejo and Dave McKean

Sam Kieth has a a really surreal take on Batman that I enjoy.

Forgot the pic.

Attached: Sam Kieth Batman.jpg (490x565, 50.67K)

This one's John Byrne.

Batman by Jorge Zaffino..

Those are some gorgeous panels, what is it from? (Im just getting into Batman comics so please excuse the ignorance)

James O'Barr of The Crow fame has drawn the most edgy Batman you will ever see. He's done multiple drawings of this edgy batman so I will link this site showcasing the supreme edge. >ohdannyboy.blogspot.com/2010/10/original-art-stories-james-obarrs.html

Attached: O'Barr Batman.jpg (700x932, 190.56K)

No worries, user. We all started somewhere.

That image is from the graphic novel "Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth" drawn by Dave McKean. It's one of the main inspirations behind the Arkham Asylum game.

Attached: Batman-Arkham-Asylum-Serious-House-Art.jpg (1400x700, 149.17K)

Thank you user, I think I'm gonna get to that next, I love these misty looking scenes.

Dave Stevens drew a cover for Detective Comics that never saw the light of day for unknown reasons. Of course it's done in that classic Stevens style. Another really well done old school batman

Attached: Stevens Batman.jpg (580x861, 128.74K)

And by his son, Gerardo Zaffino

More Sale with his birdlips Batman.

Frank Miller.

Attached: dk1.jpg (814x1250, 509.54K)

As you can obviously infer, I'm a sucker for surreal, weird, depictions of Batman. James Bolton is another great artist who fills that niche

Attached: Bolton Batman.jpg (849x1250, 199.32K)

Jim Valentino drew a neat Batman. Batman looks good with the stubble beard

Attached: Valentino Batman.jpg (587x750, 290.27K)

Very nice, thanks.

Rodgers has the best bat ears.

NANANANA-NANANANA-NANANANANANA BAT DICK

Bradstreet's Batman has always fascinated me because it's gritty but it also has a fantastical element similar to Bolton's take

Attached: Bradstreet Batman.jpg (489x750, 88.47K)

Jose Antonio Munoz (Alack Sinner)
It seems like half of all comic book artists drew Batman at some point.

Attached: ZsqKNvSD_1603191243411gpadd.jpg (1250x888, 860.89K)

>I'm a sucker for surreal, weird, depictions of Batman

Same, nothing makes me want to ram my head fullforce into my desk faster than people trying to cut promos on Kelley Jones or Tim Sale asking "how do their ears fit in doors or the batmobile!?" Like at what point do you become so boring you ask those questions?

On that note, always wondered who painted the cardart for Legends of the Dark Knight toyline looks like Biz or maybe Glen Fabry?

Attached: Screen Shot 2022-04-14 at 6.24.55 PM.png (622x362, 400.66K)

McFarlane's Batman is a cult favorite for a reason. McFarlane's work speaks for itself

Attached: McFarlane Batman.jpg (600x911, 133.94K)

Dermont Power. Did the package artwork for Legends of The Dark Knight toys which I desperately wanted as a kid but never got.

Ideal height

Irv Novick may very well be the most undeservedly overlooked Batman artist ever. He's up there with Don Newton in my opinion

Attached: Novick Batman.png (938x550, 985.24K)

Liberatore (RanXerox)

Attached: H1118-L141709212.jpg (750x1110, 134.88K)

What a weird thing. I didnt see this post before I typed

Took me years and years and years to find put who the artist was, just working off vague childhood memories and no names. Hopefully I saved some other readers the work.

Attached: dLsLjfVS_2010200850111gpadd.jpg (930x1280, 490.13K)

Hugo Pratt (Corto Maltese)

Attached: c8437f340b88c664943ae7d9c53b6564.jpg (905x1185, 210.81K)

Danijel Zezelj's Batman is certainly one of the weirdest versions you will ever find. His lanky proportions matched with the huge cape truly make it one of the most unique interpretations out there

Attached: Zezelj.jpg (623x800, 302.44K)

Howard Chaykin drew a really cool looking Batman in the elseworlds story Batman: Dark Allegiances.

Attached: Chaykin Batman.jpg (1073x1650, 599.24K)

>Took me years and years and years to find put who the artist was, just working off vague childhood memories and no names. Hopefully I saved some other readers the work.

You did user, thanks for solving a 25 year old question I never really got far in solving myself. Have a Jose Luis Garcia Lopez as thanks!

Also I see you've mentioned Don Newton, another one of my favorites. Died by unpasteurized milk, thus giving Todd McFarlane his first real shot at a career(seriously!)

Alex Toth

Attached: 39ef17a8d4f9afa51cfc1d9c52fb91b6.jpg (893x1200, 161.23K)

Guy Davis did a Batman Elseworlds in the '90s that I swear has never even been collected into a trade. Insanity!

Attached: d9et8s4-affb41c9-fe98-41ba-8924-8929c8e91a41.jpg (687x1044, 692.51K)

Bart Sears take on Batman is a badass 90s era design.

Attached: Sears Batman.jpg (483x800, 71.67K)

Might as well post another elseworld, but with a few tweaks like adding a bat symbol with a belt or something like that this could've been cool. I also like this take for a black Batman.

Forgot the image.

Attached: DAF9698D-A23F-4F8F-854A-42B0A9E271AF.jpg (500x814, 81.82K)

Vince Locke's Batman is another take that focuses on the gritty

Attached: Locke Batman.jpg (442x588, 137.85K)

My pleasure. It was a mystery for decades for my too. I didnt post Don Newton, but heres a Jose Garcia Lopez pic in return.

Lopez draws like the perfect superheros.

Gray Morrow applies the bluish tint to the old school batsuit and I think it works out nicely. The red eyes on the bat is a nice touch

Attached: Morrow Batman.jpg (1655x2379, 948.32K)

Neato

Phil Jimenez's Batman deserves more love. I think his style was a perfect fit

Attached: Jimenez Batman.jpg (518x800, 321.36K)

i honestly really llike Batman Beyond as a interpetation just for the setting
you throw a creature of the night settled in a fantastical image of a seedy crime ridden city in the the future of that concept by injecting some Cyberpunk into it
the core themes of batman are still present while adding alot of its own through its setting, almost completely avoiding the trop of future settings just rehashing villians from the main setting

Attached: batman-beyond_dc-comics_silo_lg.png (800x1175, 1.34M)

Kieron Dwyer drew a really good Batman. He deserved to stay on much longer

Attached: Dwyer Batman.jpg (1073x1650, 367.51K)

all my life i thought this was Mignola

And last but not least, the one and only Norm Breyfogle. Doesn't need an explanation. I will be taking a break but please continue to post some of your favorites. Thanks for the comfy thread so far anons! Sincerely, OP

Attached: Breyfogle Batman.jpg (767x431, 62.49K)

Will have to check this out. Looks right up my alley

Bryan Talbot (Luther Arkwright)
It is.

FUCK

Attached: B9LpPsbIYAAiuFP.jpg (900x1224, 246.74K)

Dammit I screwed up. Sorry anons. But Dwyer really did draw Dark Knight Dark City, just not the cover.

Attached: Dwyer Batman.jpg (740x1000, 254.09K)

Charles Burns (Black Hole)
No worries.

Attached: EFI3pjoXoAA8Gli.jpg (608x802, 93.37K)

Anders Nilsen (Big Questions)
