I’ll tell you, the third season sucks. For one thing a lot of the great villains couldn’t come back for various reasons, so they had all these terrible show-original villains who weren’t as cool or colorful or interesting. They switched from twice a week broadcasts to once a week broadcasts, which meant no more cliffhangers, no more Same Bat Time Same Bat Channel death traps and escapes. It’s just lame. The whole third season, it’s not “so bad it’s good,” it’s “so bad it’s dry and uninteresting.”
Batgirl is by far the best thing in the otherwise abysmal third season, Eartha Kitt is a close second.

Batgirl was fucking lame. Half the fun was seeing Batman and Robin try to puzzle out the villain's schemes in their own insane troll logic, but Batgirl renders them useless by always knowing the answer ahead of time.

You know, I haven't really watched Adam West's Batman. I think it's on HBO Max and I am tempted to give it a spin.
Does it hold up as a legit show in modern days or is it "good for what it is" period piece?

Again, that was compounded by the Third season villains being lame and the once a week broadcast.

I'll give a run down.

Each story is a two episode parter.
It's gimmick is the next villain after each story.

So you got Riddler for this story, then for the next story is a different one.

It's pure camp so if that's not your thing, then don't. But considering it's time, it uses more obscure comic book villains, or creates their own.

For the Mr. Freeze story, his name is Art Schivel, which was originally Mr. Freeze's old name. And then there was the villain who can disguise himself as anyone.

It's fun to watch for the more obscure villains, plus the convoluted plots. But it is formulaic
