The weird thing is I was on a bit of Mxy kick the other day and binged all his episodes on Superman TAS and Justice League Action and was thinking it would be awesome to see him play the character again at some point…. Now I’m kinda sad

It's a very characteristic voice that he's known for, and he perfected it over the years. But yeah his regular speaking voice isn't quite so over the top. Part of that is because he had that kind of energy similar to a few other actors known for having a lot of energy on stage like Jack Black and Jim Carrey. Not a lot of actors like that these days.
