Because the writers want to be quirky not rad

Because it isn't.

One part Disney, one part wokeism.

Because Jim Lee jumped ship to DC now.

Disney bought it and sterilized it into another inoffensive feather in their cap.

Because they lack creativity now.

because the 90s ended.

masculinity means trauma and ptsd of which we have found no cure for.
post 9-11 american culture keep a downward path to cowardace.

Because you're stuck in the 90s

Disney and Whedon

There is a general tone change from even the early 2000s - everything is saccharine now

Kinda reminds me of silver age DC desu

This

Disney destroyed half of the edge, wokeism destroyed the other.

Because it’s all about the zoomers now. And they are neither cool nor edgy.

I see lots of people here blaming Disney and wokeism, but the 2000s really missed the mark with the "cool" part too, it was just edgy crap. Comics just hired people who had no clue.
I blame the british invasion, too.
But yeah, Disney and woketards are another thing, and as far back as the late 90s the were already censoring Wolverine and Nick's cigars and stuff.

>youtu.be/RmLFGWAyajU
Shut the fuck up retards, edgy was boring and outdated the first day they printed it

its like silver age, but without any of the fun.

Because you're not a kid anymore

I put the blame on disney

new generation brainwashing

Lack of innovative and hip new artists, the books have had amateur art for almost a decade because Disney/Marvel hates paying for quality. That combined with the overt woke agenda trafficking and people's collective fatigue of super heroes just makes these stories and characters feel like cynical crap. Comics were already having a problem making their books worth MSRP because they've turned into 12 page ad catalogues usually as part of a scheme to get you to buy multiple books to get the full story, a story that resets annually and has no lasting stakes.

There were huge problems before they were bought by Disney but the formulaic cashgrab didn't go away. Marvel and DC ruined comics in the west by hiring hobbyist tumblr artists for $20 an hour and actively telling the old fans they're not wanted.

Characters who can balance being insanely silly and insanely badass are the best

Here's a much more recent example

It's a shame Marvel is compromised of sexless rich geezers and sexless effeminate men. We'll never get cool or attractive characters again because these nerds are so soi'd that they have zero aesthetic appreciation of humanity; all they know is scorn for imaginary oppressors.

Because boys and young men are no longer a lucrative demographic. This is the actual answer. Marvel wants the hundreds of thousands of Twitter-cunt school librarians to buy their stuff, not the dozens of guys who run comic book stores.

>Because boys and young men are no longer a lucrative demographic.
Weird, they seem plenty lucrative when it comes to video games and manga.

>Why does Marvel just not seem as cool and badass as it used to?
Disney neutered it to match their sanitized gynocentric brand image

Thats horseshit, men absolutely are a lucrative demographic and catering to woke dykes doesnt sell

Not really. It’s just that the stuff that the anons here would really enjoy hardly ever gets talked about.

stan lee is a big hypocrite. Good to know

Implying Damtes a badass compared to Vergil.

Dante isnt insanely badass, anymore more than Goku is.

Where does that picture even come from? I wanna know the context.

Some soi faggot getting excited for nu wars sequel

The Silver Age was sincere at least.

Those librarians make $9 an hour, they're buying avocado toast and watching someone else's Netflix account. If they're so viable then why are the books tanking and getting canceled? They've been running this experiment for 10 years now and it hasn't performed well once.

I’m saying they want to get their product into the libraries and the women decide what goes in there. There’s a hundred thousand libraries in the US, how many comic stores are left?

>comic industry crashes because of woke pandering
>hmmmm the best option is to get the books in centers where they're publicly rented and there's zero money to be made

Do you work for Marvel? Trying to understand your business logic.

Women aren't buying comics. The irrefutable numbers have been there for years. Pick a new excuse.

user, I can pretty much guarantee that there are more people buying comics at comic shops than there are people getting comics at libraries.

>They've been running this experiment for 10 years now and it hasn't performed well once.
It mostly has for the movies, I'm afraid.

The woke shit in the movies turns away viewers

>Dante
>A badass

Maybe if you're 13 years old and retarded.

No you can’t because it’s horseshit.
Libraries have huge graphic novel sections now. If Marvel puts five copies of the latest volume Menstruation Girl or Trans Force in half the libraries in North America, that blows lcs numbers out of the water. Floppies mean nothing.

Numbers aren't sales. That speculative crypto eveluation mentality is why everything is feared to crash. There's not money being made. If there was we'd see it going into the books but it's not; I make several times any current working Marvel artist and I'm just some idiot drawing futa porn. Not saying they should hire someone with my portfolio but it'd be a worse use of time for me to look at any industry job.

Disney bought the wrong comic studio, prove me wrong

i remember back in 2009 people said nothing will change about Marvel and they will never lose their edge with the Disney buyout
i wonder where those people are now

Attached: hqdefault.jpg (480x360, 30.17K)

I remember hoping they wouldn't because it seemed like an impossible set of IPs to fuck up. If Disney was lead by people who were creators first and not just faggy trust fund west coastie boys who got handed executive positions out of nowhere then it'd be a different story. If they gave Marvel to a tire shop in Wisconsin they'd have had better insticnts with how to make money.

based Lee

Because you're the kind of decrepit oldfag who gets nostalgic over magazine ads.

fpbp
also one of the reasons, but not the main one

And your best example here is posting a video of the one man (mcfarlane) Stan Lee actually respected to the end of his days?

Doesn't turn away enough. Basically all the bullshit they can adapt for women and "women", supposedly to broaden the audience, without losing money from their regulars, they do.

>everything is saccharine now

Is it? Because I am fucking starved for any genuine optimism in fiction these days, everything is cynical as fuck. the idea that anything could get better instead of worse is an alien concept.

it's the heckin mouserino and we all know it

> *muffled "I am the storm that is approaching*

I wonder who could be behind this post.

Doesn't mean Stan liked pointless edge

Source?

In a roundabout way, everything is "pointless", so that argument doesn't hold any weight to it.
Whether that cyborg is drawn with chains and bullet pouches, or a tiara and rainbows all over, is simply aesthetics.
It has nothing to do with how he's actually written as a character, his background, psychology, etc.

sauce: disney turning marvel into a product that aligns with their content, business model and supported worldview first and foremost

Boomers and millennials grew up when being tough and dangerous was cool. Zoomers grew up when being a faggot was cool

But Marvel had stopped doing 90s edge like 15 years before Disney got involved with them, you moron. You are in such a rush to support your stupid conspiracy theories you have your cause and effect ass backwards.

who said it had anything to do with edge alone? lol idiot
and even on that end it still wasn't anywhere near 15 years

>But Marvel had stopped doing 90s edge like 15 years before Disney got involved with them
user, Disney bought Marvel in 2009.
The 90s hadn't even been over for 10 years at that point.

God, fuck what's happened to Star Trek

Give a few examples of pre 2009 stuff compared with post 2009 stuff
