Fundamentally there are only really 2 things that make an anime. Greater attention/love to visual aesthetics and conventions of story telling.
Disney is so assblastedly stuck on their story telling conventions, they really cannot change what they are doing.
Anime does not include gay or black or diversity characters in order to meet quota. Anime is not afraid to make fun of anyone (with the possible exception of Yakuza).
Disney tiptoes on eggshells to avoid offending anyone except Conservatives and Christians, in which case it goes out of its way to shit on them because it pleases the rest of its fan base and Christians and Conservatives don't yet push back.
About the only thing Disney has going for its story telling is that like Anime, they get the true meaning of Christmas wrong time and time again. But unlike Japan, Disney has no excuse since they absolutely know better.

The book channel made up nearly $1 billion in sales in 2021.
The direct market supposedly saw and increase of 40% in sales from 2020, when their revenue was $440 million, which would mean total revenue nearing $650 million at best.
Sorry user, but the book channel is far more relevant when it comes to the comic market as a whole nowadays.
Wouldn't be surprised if Viz made about as much money in the book channel as Marvel did in the entire comics market.
