I really liked the movie, though I also find the main girls to be incredibly cute. Not in an uooohhhhh ToT way, but more in an I wish I were still 13 and actually knew girls like them sort of way.

I guess I wasn't thinking along those lines, just that Mei meeting him could have easily made for a really superficial ending, unless they handled it in a particularly interesting way. Her going off to spend some trivial fun time with her friends just seems like a much more meaningful and heartfelt ending.
