I swear to goodness if it's another "comics MATTER and we're meta therefore you're wrong and beaten, comic book readers" copout I might drop modern DC entirely for good. It's also hilarious how a few months beforehand they already artificially raised the stakes by making Darkseid adopt his composite godhead self only to get jobbed out to the Empty Hand, who turned out to be a servant of the Great Darkness, who was the real master manipulator behind the scenes. So it was Darkseid as the god of evil but then it wasn't. Then it was Perpetua as a corrupted demiurge and then it wasn't. Now I'm just wondering if they'll bring "the Writer" back for the aforementioned meta commentary on the goodness and relevance of comic books.

The Jinx death battle episode is the worst I ever watched. They used in-game stats where any champ can build any item in the game. They used the stupid wild rift trailer where they gave her that stupid teleport item (an item that's for the trailer only, not in lore) and they said she's durable enough to take hits from mountain-shattering attacks. This made me hate death battle forever now.

The more interesting matchups are the ones where the powersets are more varied.
Mario vs Sonic is interesting because Mario has a shitton of powerups while Sonic mostly just has what he's already got plus his Super forms.
Goku vs Superman is interesting because Superman and Goku have vastly different powersets, what with Superman being a flying brick with heat vision and frost breath, while goku's more a martial artist with super forms and energy blasts.
Hal vs Ben is interesting because while one has a thousand different forms he can turn into, Hal's Power Ring gives him a just as limitless amount of bullshit he can do, given his creativity.
The point being, these matchups are all better draws than Plastic Man vs Luffy, simply because all of them are varied in terms of how the two fight each other, in comparison to the connection that is "these two guys can stretch hard".
Luffy doing Rubberhose bullshit on Naruto is way more interesting than that.

Death Battle saw this as a battle of AP vs AP. I do not see how Ed couldn't just atomize baldies head with his alchemy. He could set up better traps and instadeath scenarios.
