What went right? What went wrong? And what is everyone expecting from the Fionna spin-off?

I expect Marshall and Gumball to be so fucking gay it will be unwatchable for anyone not into it.
Can't wait
>What went right?
First 2-3 seasons up to the introduction of Flame Princess and Deep Lore overload
>What went wrong?
Too much deep lore. Too much pushing of the writer's lesbian gay agenda, not enough focus on fun adventures with a boy and his dog
>And what is everyone expecting from the Fionna spin-off?
Woker than woke, more lesbians, lots of episodes that are parables for being gay and the existence of 66+ genders, Fionna will not be allowed to display heterosexuality in any form.
From the promos I expect some Interdimensional travel with "the" Fionna and cake that are real.
Last time we explored those characters turns out that Ice King was sent dreams about them so who knows if they're going to go from there or just do whatever.
>What went right?
Goofy yet creative concept that miraculously managed to develop into a truly engaging case of worldbuilding and character drama featuring some of the absolute BEST character designs in a cartoon.
>What went wrong?
Showrunner who took over lost sight of keeping the show fun when he and his team spent greater focus on experimental storytelling and stretching out the series far longer than they really needed to. You still got some gems throughout the latter half of the series, but that also came with some alienating episodes or poorly mapped out attempts at plot progression, some of which not making any sense.
>And what is everyone expecting from the Fionna spin-off?
Truckloads of amazing porn. Some of the best to ever be made for this series.
>Truckloads of amazing porn. Some of the best to ever be made for this series.
It's gonna be great I tell ya
OHHHH, OHHHHHH FIONNAAAAA
At first i was excited for a fionna and cake show but knowing that its spearheaded by muto deflated all hope for it since itll be on the same level as zombie adventure time was and will probably be just as pretentious and depressing
Mr. Enter has been around for almost 10 years though
SO FINN AND JAKE
SET OUT TO FIND A NEW HOME
IT’S GONNA BE TOUGH
ok cynic
It really is wild just how utterly perfect Finn's design is. Makes me kinda sad that Distant Lands might've been the last we'll ever see of it.
They will iron out her curves so much she'll have the same body type as Finn
They wouldn’t dare
Damn, looks like they've already started, already made changes to her body shape and clothing to make it less feminine
I'm not seein it
based
SHMOWZOW!
Hottest AT girl and it's not even a question.
>inb4 they make Fionna a lesbian
Around season 6, it looked like everyone was pissed and collectively stopped giving a fuck. It picked up again around season 8, but I feel like the only one who stood by the entire series.
Penn was the heart and soul, man.
this show is completely unwatchable.
bait
You cant blame me for being apprehensive. Im not going to get my hopes up just to be disappointed by more breezy tier writing and plot directions
Both Pen and Pat were the heart and soul of prime Adventure Time. Adam Muto, too, but the power must've gotten to his head once he was handed the reins. The show didn't get BAD, but it did have some absolute stinkers here and there. Doesn't help that whatever "lore" the writers were developing after a while clearly was being made up on the spot. You could tell they had no concrete ending in sight.
>that pic
m-more like this??
Reminder, Adventure Time is so old that they still used the 2004 CN logo when it first came out.
Simon porn please.
I want to go back…
Friendship ended with Gashi-gashi
Now centinel303 is my best friend
Adventure Time jumped the shark with "Too Young".
I've tried so hard. It's not funny. It's ugly. And all the creativity is spoiled by what I just mentioned and the pretty terrible VA.
Fuck your happy ending, that gave us more fun adventures to have with PB. "Too Young" was also one of THE funniest episodes of the show. Lemongrab had me in stitches every time.
What episodes have you watched? The first two seasons are pretty different compared to what follows after. Seasons 3-4 were when the show hit peak popularity, so I'd argue if you can't find enjoyment out of those episodes, then the show just isn't for you. Though, I would still recommend Season 6 if 3-4 aren't your style. The show really does experience three different aesthetics over the course of its run, so no one season or episode can really define Adventure Time as a whole.
"Too Young" embodies one of the biggest issues with that era of AT (promising large changes only to instantly go back on them) and Lemongrab is just as unfunny as every other Roiland voiced character in existence. A lot of the shit that makes the Fire Princess stuff terrible can be traced back to the creative decisions made here. Also the Lich was never utilized well again after his debut.
You got me there. The status quo reversals grew tiring after enough times. How much of that came from network mandates and how much came from the creative team is still a mystery to me. Was it ever said if it was the writers' choice to keep everything relatively consistent as the series progressed? The ending to "Too Young" didn't bother me, but "Jake the Dad" was what made me groan. I trudged forward till the very end, but I understood why so many fans gave up after "Breezy."
Getting to see Finn’s hair was always a treat, especially when it varied in length. I appreciated that attention to detail from the character designers.
Wait, wait hold on a second. Simon is in this...? No, I swear to God, THEY'D BETTER FUCKING HAVE ICE QUEEN IN THIS SHOW OR I'M NOT WATCHING A SINGLE EPISODE OF IT
Sure, I'll give it a try.
>right
Penn Ward really refined what he took from Flapjack into a show that captured the manic humor and chaos but offered more substance with the setting, side characters and narrative.
>wrong
Penn Ward is a giant autist who kinda voluntarily let AT avalanche out of his control. Replaced by a bunch of dog shit writers who understood that AT was very popular but not why, and used their Twitter hugbox as a sounding room for their shit ideas.
this was the 2010s user. it was more tumblr before it banned porn.
I'm confused how the fuckhell is Simon in this
Eh, maybe he activated the Ice Crown on accident and got frozen, then unthawed after a while. That, or this might be the world inside the book that got brought to life and Simon got sucked in. Really will just depend on what they decide to do with it.
>Simon gets sucked into his own shitty fanfiction
ok that'd actually be funny I'll grant you
S4 was like 2012 and that was around the top of the downward spiral (really began in S3 but there were still solid eps). I never went on tumblr but I don't recall anything like a blue check "this is an industry face" thing. I get that they migrated and generated the same culture, but Tumblr having porn wasn't really related to that direct creator interaction on their soap box.
Like SU was in 2013, you could see concept and enviornment art on a tumblr blog but interaction with Sugar or other writers would be on Twitter.
For someone who goes by 'Ice Queen,' she's pretty Hot.
Does she lactate cold milk?
>Fionna spin-off
That's still happening?
Yep. There are a lot of HBO Max projects announced a while back that I'm still waiting on. These things take time. I just wish we could get some crew art shared in the meantime. I have no idea who even worked on the Fionna & Cake miniseries aside from Adam Muto and Hanna K again.
>adventure time is dead in the water
>molly threads filled with creativity and fun talking and joking and (loli rape jokes) are being pruned
Practically any cartoon starring a young girl seems fated to have garbage Yea Forums threads. I've been avoiding Molly McGee threads for the most part, so I'm gonna go ahead and assume they deserve to be deleted if all they attract are spammers and pedos.
Fuck off, degenerate.
Simone!
It'll probably invovle parallel universes. THe nature of parallel universes is that they could take on any variety of forms; maybe going to one that resembles what he wrote while wearing the crown would be easier or more doable for some reason.
Would.
A few people have drawn the idea but I'm surprised it's not way way more.
Any old theories you remember?
>calling the Lich's hood hair
This is so delightfully dumb, I love it.
People gave this show too much credit sometimes. The writers were literally making shit up on the fly. The whole Orgalorg reveal was fucking stupid, especially since it led to nothing in the end.
lol
Not sure if this even counts as a theory.
