When young justice first started I thought it was really cool that the team of sidekicks were going against lower level bad guys but those bad guys were still better than them. During the whole season at every turn the adults beat their ass it made a ton of sense. Then by season 2 that all got thrown out the fucking window and they were going against the main bad guys and shit which made me drop it before season 3 which I heard is for the best

I personally like the idea of Enid and KO dating, not even in a sexual way just that I enjoy the idea of them both being in a romantic relationship. The idea of no one batting an eye at the age gap because of the kind of universal logic the OK KO runes on even though there can be a 13 year age gap between them is just funny to me for some reason and could result in some enjoyable scenarios.

Selection bias on the part of the writers. Most writers are lonely males from broken homes and if they are not that, they are female writers from broken homes. Writers in general have to be loners or they don't have much time to do proper writing. This is why good quality family drama is rare (and loved when done right.) In most cases they just don't know how to write for the male side kick. What the writers ought to do is pay some stable family people to contribute material on how a family functions on a moment by moment basis, then adapt that into a "female hero with friends and family," plot.
Why can't we see the heroine having a good laugh while unwinding with her girlfriends? (You don't have to make the whole show about this. Just show it here and there to provide context for her life.)
Does she need a love interest in order for the sponsors to pay for the project? Ok. Why not include a man she wishes she could get with? Your family folks who helped you write some plots can fill in the every day stuff. If you really do some work you can even make them friends who haven't hooked up (yet?) A will they won't they plot can do wonders for your profit. Think about some questions: How does the love interest feel about the heroine always being away? Would this lead him to lose interest? What does she think about him being all alone? Isn't she afraid he will leave her? How adult focused is your story? What if the heroine is regularly intimate with the man? (Get your family plot writers to help you do this right.)
Are you just trying to do a role reversal? That shouldn't be too hard. You can default to a "mom saves the day," plot. How is the heroine able to deal with tough males on a regular basis? You are dealing with a much bigger suspension of disbelief when the sexy woman beats up tough males. She needs some kind of magic power or feminine charm or both. Why is her side kick there at all?
