Any successfully serious story element is made despite Disney's name on the show, not because of it. But what can they do? They think she's captured and they wanna rescue her, nobody knows she's part of a hivemind now. If they did know that and still ignored it, THEN I would be behind this. But for all they know she's just captured, and the solution for that is to defeat the king and free her. Which is what they are doing right now.

None of the people we meet in the show would give a shit about them. They're either new people Anne meets or her family, obviously they are more concerned about Anne than anyone else. Tons of kids go missing, it's not a big deal when one of them comes back and the other's don't. It's not like society knows they were sent to an alternate dimension. And considering how the FBI is involved, any addition of people asking for the other girls would just get their attention even more. I don't see a point for them to ask about the girl, it's not needed for the story.

Because that's the type of show this is. S2 opens with Anne fighting a goofy pumpkin monster and they barely talk about the fact that she almost saw her friend commit suicide in front of her own eyes. This show can get dark at times, but it's not a drama at its core. And it has been obvious for a while now.

Because it was an entire episode dedicated to motherhood, it fit to end it like that. It wasn't an episode about something else, and then suddenly Anne starts crying about it. The scene works because the context gives it a reason to, on its own in a completely different episode, it would have been a random angsty scene that doesn't fit the story they were telling. And I don't think they will find many girls who got stabbed by a tyrant in LA.

We know from Matt that a deleted scene shows Anne's dad doesn't even like Sasha, so why would they care about them as much as Anne? They did, Anne send them a note. But what would be the point of telling them straight to their face? We have no reason to believe Anne and them get along, Marcy's parents wanted to move on a whim, and Sasha has divorced parents. To meet them would have made things worse for everyone involved, the note was enough of an assurance while still keeping a distance.

This is not a problem with the show, this is you completely not understanding the series. Anne does not want to go home just because she feels the Plantars are getting homesick, from the very first minutes of the FIRST EPISODE of season 3A, she states she wants to save her friends. Them being homesick is just a minor element for what she really wants to do, and if you actually think that she honestly wants to take them back home just because they're homesick, you do not understand this very basic plot at all.
