Season 1 was a fairly faithful adaptation for the standards of Americans turning American comics into shows and movies.

I don't mean faithful in the MCU sense where it's all just original stories but they just happen to have the rights to nearly all the characters and do things you'd imagine could happen in the comics. Nor is it faithful in the sense that the 2003 TMNT cartoon where it does adapt stories but half the episodes are still original stories. Not even in the Walking Dead sense where the story is more or less the same but it makes a ton of completely arbitrary changes than pointlessly forces further changes.

I mean in the sense that the story is intact and the changes are only there to streamline the plot and fix actual problems. You can read the entire run of Invincible and pretty much expect all the major beats to be the same.
