Okay i will check them all out,Thanks, which dick novel did you like the most?

I’ve got your essential dick right here lmao

Hmm, that's a very tough choice. I think I would go with either Ubik or The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch.

Why?

Not that guy but Ubik is a fucking trip. It has all the beginnings of a great scifi book, but then takes a hard left and goes into a surrealist explosion of ideologically fueled questioning of reality by making use of 1950s marketing.

lol

is there anything similar to a scanner darkly, I mean California, Stoners, Banter, Conspiracy shit, Drugs?

I once wanted to rewrite that book.

I don't want to get into any spoilers, so I'll just say that Ubik has some of PKD's most nightmarish moments and one of his most satisfying/interesting endings.

Thomas Pynchon - The Crying of Lot 49

It isn't sci-fi, but it has everything you're looking for.

Sounds like my Kind of book, thanks

Thanks, you guys have convinced me to read ubik next.

will do. thanks.

You're welcome.

Anyone have any recommendations of works by either Dick or any other author with scenes similar to Deckard's meeting with Mercur in Electric Sheep or Donna taking Arctor to New Path and telling him about Tony Amsterdam's experience with God? Those chapters fucking destroyed me and I'd like to read books with similarly bleak, poignant scenes if I can.

also Pynchon's Inherent Vice

I’ll rec a few PKD short stories

The two most famous are probably Electric Ant and Faith of our Fathers, both are great and pretty short
I Hope I Shall Arrive Soon
Crononauts Like Us

If you want more Dick, read the VALIS trilogy and the original VALIS Radio Free Albemulth for more drugs, conspiracies, and Berkeley.
