What explains the proclivity for right-wingers to act like cultish sycophants...

What explains the proclivity for right-wingers to act like cultish sycophants? It happened with Ayn Rand and now it's happening with Peterson, except he's more popular.

left-wingers do this too. Basically anyone who spends their intellectual energy on politics is middling-tier, art/theology/philosophy/history are so much more interesting

Powerful.

what about nick land when gets all political

He's just doing it so people will read him, he is also much more big picture about it which excuses it somewhat

Extremist losers on all sides do this.

Boring normie personality produces boring normie political views. How does it feel being mediocre?

>"his message is comprised of analysis of events from the Bible"
fascinating

Nick is a leftist taking the piss.

this. someone who cannot entertain multiple facets of reality and empithize with multiple groups is really just deluding themselves.

I don't think he's actually leftist (that implies some moral, hopeful, or productive energy which he's clearly lost long ago) but he's too clever to be a racebaiter for edgy 14-year-olds so he's trying to thread some new needle that encompasses everything without actually saying anything beyond "you're fucked, have fun"

Politics is full of mental adolescents who get excited about individual things for a couple years then move onto another individual thing for a couple of years, etc. It's always been like this. From the revolutionaries who (unwisely) worshipped John Lennon to the guy who (unwisely) killed him. To Ayn Rand to Barack Obama to Donald Trump to Bernie Sanders etc. Politics generates celebrities and derps like celebrities.

That includes both normie derps and extremist derps.

Meant to add that YouTube comments attract the worst of this silliness (except maybe Yea Forums which really is shit)

It's necessary if you want to understand how the common person thinks. Without our little club we would have to deal with these people daily with no outlet, and the potential for suicide would skyrocket.
Don't fall into thinking that we are anything but an insignificant minority. Most normies would like to see us dead.

Peterson and Rand are both leftists

He's a pseud. And his political understanding is shit.

>Ayn Rand
>Jordan Peterson
>right-wing
All of the objectivists are now running Woke Startups selling yoga to 45-year-old Boomers. Generally technofaggots are not right-wing.

It is kind of funny that when I interact with the "normal" internet (Facebook, YouTube, Instagram) I see what's essentially a different world than what I encounter on Yea Forums. People are, somehow, simultaneously more crazy and less crazy on the rest of the internet than they are on here.

Land is a genius and his political takes are on point.

I sympathize with this, but not focusing time on learning about politics can make you potentially vulnerable to poor views/movements.

what if I'm not a normie but I also want you all dead

the irony is everyone's vulnerable to poor views/movements, even those who think about politics every day
for every lib normie who volunteers and supports their community/family/environment without thinking of politics, there's a recluse who reads about politics constantly and uses that insight to spam a cartoon frog saying bad words on Marvel Cinematic Universe threads on Yea Forums for 8 hours a day

Very low IQ post. Are you telling me someone who spends all their intellectual energy on philosophy will be vulnerable to poor views/movements? Fascinating that you can justify your interest in politics to yourself with such a nonsensical reason.

he said "not focusing". Are you literate?

Everyone is vulnerable to poor views/movements. You think reading philosophy makes you wise?

its only rhegelians that do this

What is your point? I described a person who has focused no time on politics. You are the illiterate one.

Then his post is entirely nonsensical.

>he cant have a controversial opinion without worshipping the public figure who gave him that opinion in the first place
Brainlet tier

Then you are going to the 9th circle of hell

Then you are a collaborator.

Politics/power does that to people. Universally. If you think I'm joking try attending the finance committee meetings of a tiny rural town. It doesn't matter that it's ridiculous. Everyone wants to be Machiavelli, everyone picks sides, and they all devolve into shrill nonsensical arguments

>dude I'd die without Yea Forums
>We're not Them so They want Us dead, man
>we're on our own. we gotta study the enemy
From what I read you are a common person, so whatever ways of thinking you come across on there should already be familiar to you. Wasting time on youtube comments is not necessary. It simply is what it is: a waste of time.

>art/philosophy/history are so much more interesting
Excellent defense of Ayn Rand actually. OP does her a disservice.

these are future retarded neoliberals, not right-wingers

Extremism and Centrism are anticoncepts worth abandoning. The latter is giant middle ground fallacy and the former:

jardan peterson is not right wing

>mfw people think it's the right who are susceptible to this
just look at Contra and his fans. It's bizarre.

This isn't r/politics or /leftypol/ so how about you fuck off with this non lit non phil thread?

Attached: 1489715813327.png (466x660, 249K)

it is simple semiotic.

many of these conservatives who value many "boot strappingv virtues. and see problems with degeneracy, get exposed to thinkers spouting these ideas.

ideas that reaonante so well with them they wear these ideas on their shoulders and explore these ideas more.

and much like how people call the categorical imperitive " kantian ethics" thry too for whatever reason cannot divorce the signifier and signified.
they praise jordan b petersen
becuase they associate him with his philosophy.
if jordan b petersen had been a comic book writer for superman, or had a mascot attached to his philosophy they would be wearing superman shirst and donning costumes and taking on the appearnce of a mascot that represents their philosophy.

i mean some objectivists have ayn rands face pasted on every pin up they hang up,
others have a "who is john galt?" tattoo on their arm.

I think JBP must feel bad with himself for selling out, when he sees this people. He can't be so far gone as to think this is ok.

We live in a society.

No but seriously almost all people are herd animals and their beliefs are basically just what they think will help them socially, which they intuit more or less unconsciously. Call me edgy but it's still true

You mind not comparing mystic lout Peterson to top lass Rand cat?

Attached: 1539133284768.jpg (640x636, 369K)

rand sucks

if you have watched JBP videos
he has a huge ego,
and you can tell he has a certain distaste for stupid people.

absolutly hates when people get his philosophy wrong. and jerks when someone insults his intelligence

i have a feeling he's been happy fleecing the plebians by just rehashing what tony robbins, chuck norris, carl jung, and modernist thinkers say.
