LEOPARDI CAMÕES PESSOA
CERVANTES DANTE PLATO
POUND SHAKESPEARE BAUDELAIRE
Here's with better formatting and explanation.
In the first row, the poets I simply love, even though they might not be superior to, say, Virgil or Sophocles.
In the second row, the two writers who delight me the most - Cervantes and Homer (substituting the Plato from my previous post) -, with Dante at the center, who is my greatest master.
In the third row, three poets whom I love because of what they have taught me: Pound, Shakespeare, Baudelaire.
LEOPARDI_____CAMÕES______PESSOA
CERVANTES___*DANTE*_______HOMER
POUND____SHAKESPEARE_____BAUDELAIRE
Pound had his way with words but holy fuck was he living in a bubble separate from the working class experience of humanity. It got a little out of hand really quickly. Guy was enamored with his own mother. Whatever horrifying past-lives he had, he must have needed the 'teet' exceedingly. It doesn't make for a good narrative.
Homer...really? Was three thousand years ago. I doubt he "speaks to you". Shakespeare...fine. Whatever, typical but whatever. Baudelaire... nah man. Onetrix Point Never is the same shit. It's just a wallowing in the darkside of things as if it were of penultimate importance with no indication of light. Those are mere cowards.
