Agreed, I couldn't stand that fucking book. Poorly written, rambling, and it focused on a lot of really minor things about Rome, while pretty much ignoring anything interesting or important about it.

Most biographies of roman people do a way better job of depicting how roman society generally was.

And for general interest history it flows a lot better than Goldsworthy imo. OP is fag
