Books won't do it. What made me appreciate women was just seeing and meeting good hearted, pro social older women. Unfortunately there's a negative spiral men can fall into where they become bitter with women, that bitterness makes them unattractive to women and thus women start treating them worse or ignoring them more and that in turns stirs even more bitterness. Older women can break that spiral as the relationship between older women and younger men isn't sexually oriented and older women aren't going to default to behaviour meant to sweep away "gross" and "creepy" potential suitors as young girls do.
