Probably Clavell's Shogun, not that I've played the game just guessing

Musashi probably. Also, not Yea Forums, but Lone Wolf and Cub.

I also would unironically like to know. For those who haven’t played it. It takes place in Sengoku era japan and you play as a Shinobi. It’s has a lot mythical and magical elements but tries to slightly ground them in realism.

Giant enemy crab realism?

Which Souls game is it the most similar to? I almost consider buying it full price instead of waiting 3-4 years for sale like usual when something gets shilled on Yea Forums.

A glorified rhythm game?

All of them and none of them

Good, a FromSoft thread. I wanted to make one but didn't want to shit up the board with something relatively off-topic.

Anyway, books like Bloodborne (outside Lovecraft) and Dark Souls? That feeling of emptiness, insanity and upcoming dread.

Kafka's The Trial

Its like all of them combined, similar level design, items etc but now with vertical access. The combat is very different and you will get your shit pushed in on most enemies if you play like souls

It reminds me more of Bloodborne than any of the Souls games. Instead of using a gun to parry you have sword deflections and there’s some stealth and a lot of verticality

I'm not sure, I'm not familiar with children's literature.

err bloodborne I guess.

Except now you have to parry every attack

I'm a Nioh player and had problems with the slow combat speed in Bloodborne.
How fast is Sekiro compared to Bloodborne?

>everything kills you and you have to start over

finnegans wake

Yes. When I learned to dance with Lady Butterfly after 3 days of learning her patterns and fighting system in general, the rhythm part of this game started to shine and gave me almost a flow-like state that makes the game much more satisfying.

I never thought of Souls as being a Kafkaesque series, that's an interesting take.

Everything by Lord Dunsany
Everything by Clark Ashton Smith
Solomon Kane by Robert Howard
Throne of Bones by Brian Mcnaughton
Elric of Melnibone and the whole Eternal Champion Cycle

>Everything by Lord Dunsany
criminally underrated on here, impeccable taste

Fuck this nip game and FUCK FROM SOFTWARE.
