What makes his dialogue great? I haven't read any of him. And QT the filmmaker was influenced by him? In what manner?

Go ahaead and call me a brainlet but there were entire sequences where I didn't have the slightest idea what was happening and who was talking to who. Still a great book though, pretty funny

This book is 700 pages of undesignated dialogue between a few dozen characters and its funny and makes sense.

Carpenter's Gothic is pretty good and short but other than the dialogue its not very similar to his big novels because the setting is very tightly constricted

I prefer the dialogue in Ulysses to all the narrational experiments.
