I don't really care that much about Gordon's race honestly, and this doesn't necessarily mean that Batgirl is going to be black. She could be adopted. I'm fine with Wright being Gordon because he's actually a good actor, unlike most of the famous characters that are raceswapped.

In movies Gordon has almost never had a really big role. The Nolan movies being the exception to an extent.

I know you can't have a black servant in a movie although I think you can argue Alfred is more than that. But he'd be a good Alfred. Someone there keeping Bruce in check with dry witty remarks.
