A. zoomer
B. female

What exactly is it you don't understand?
Conan's motives?
The riddle of steel?

what was going on at the end? the fire ritual and everyone throwing in the torches in the well.
i was born in 96

the riddle of steel? is that when his father told him not to trust anyone but trust steel?

Go on...

I’m watching it right now for the first time, an hour in. I get it but it’s not particularly interesting

Their leader's flame extinguished, they had lost the fire which united them.

Don't be such a fucking brainlet.

>Don't be such a fucking fag
iftfy

its aight

OP has low testosterone confirmed

Tits or gtfo

I think brainlet was enough of an insult to make him understand.

Read the stories, read about the Bronze Age Collapse, learn what phronesis is, read Jack London's "Might Is Right." Then watch the movie. Then see if you still don't get it.
This is a wonderfully deep and complex movie, but there's no exposition (the narration is not informative, it's a kind of authentic decoration), nothing is spelled out for you, but a lot of information is there.

So good.

Let us ponder the Riddle of Steel. What do YOU think it is?

Then you’re probably a woman

Dont tell me youre one of those fags who thinks conan is about the bronze age collapse, he makes it really fucking clear his stories take place after atlantis and before "the sons of aryas" or aryans come about, it's a lost age thousands of years before.

It's not really secret at this point
>flesh is weak
>steel is brittle
>but the will is indomitable

this is the shit i was looking for.

???
It seemed pretty simple and straightforward to me.

Howard did extensive historical reading from serious sources, but then he realized it would really suck to have to receive letters about getting this or that detail wrong (possibly after a certain New Englander quibbled about his accuracy in depicting picts), so Conan is historically informed but not strictly historically accurate. At one point Cossacks show up. Not because they were around in prehistory but because Howard thought they were badasses.

Let me break it down.
First, watch the original ending
youtu.be/PWfsMnS5FYo

The whole movie focuses on 2 things, the Riddle of Steel, and Conan avenging his people.

Conans father believed the answer was steel itself, and that you can trust no one

Thulsa Doom belived the answer was that flesh was stronger than steel, and that the power to control people was true power

It isn't until the end when you see Conan holding Thulsa Dooms severed head and his fathers broken sword that you realize it's neither of these things. The answer is the indomitable will of the human spirit.

After Conan avenged his people, he had nothing left to accomplish in life, Thulsa Doom literally created who he was. It isn't. Until after he burns down the Temple that he can finally be his own person
