Name a better war movie.
Name a better war movie
fmj
Any other war movie
Das Boot
It stands equal to Apocalypse Now and Bridge on the River Kwai, no more, no less.
Work on posting better bait, Faggatron.
The Thin Red Line
thing is, I don't view it as a "war movie," relative to others that take either war in general or actual historical events as their subject.
(I'd say La Grande Illusion is my favourite war movie, even though it contains many more themes.)
instead I see it as the best film about what it's like to work inside any hierarchy in general I've ever seen: how decent people get railroaded because of completely capricious reasons; how superiors in a position of authority can bungle things completely yet receive no penalty, or even get rewarded
Kubricks cold, deadly irony was never served better than this film, which remains my favourite thing he's ever done.
Stalingrand 1993
Any. This movie suck balls.

Come and See

Fuck Thin Red Line. That shit is horrible, it sounded like it was written by a freshman college student who just finished an intro to philosophy course.
Boring, pretentious, useless crap.

Kirk Douglas is old enough to have fought in the first world war, if they let 1yr olds fight.
Apocalypse Now was overrated as fuck. I found it to be terribly boring.
what sick man sends babies to fight
Full Metal Jacket is so fucking rewatchable
Underrated movie. I honestly never see anyone bring it up these days.
Does "They Shall Not Grow Old" count?
Or does it not since it's kind of a documentary?
Either way a fantastic work.
