It’s an Argentinian horror film set in Buenos Aries, it’s completely in Spanish but there are of course English subs.
The best way I can describe the plot without giving anything away is to say it’s about an investigation by Captain Funes and an old friend (Jano) he calls to help him after things start taking a very paranormal turn of events in a small neighbourhood.

It kicks off with a bit of kitchen sink drama and quickly punches you in the face with some paranormal happenings and doesn’t slow down. It loses its way slightly towards the end but it still keeps its charm.

Super creepy, super unsettling, full of suspense.

It’s up there with other non-English horror films like Rec and Martyrs.
100% worth a watch if you like spooky goings on.

I remember this, the beginning to middle was kino and spooky especially the part where the guy tries to sleep but the demon doesn't let him but towards the end it became pretty meh.

The scary scenes are not that bad but everything else around it is basically a nonsensical to unintentionally funny. Apparently the director is now remaking the movie for the US with Del Toro producing so maybe a bigger budget and a more refined script with the core scares intact is really going to get this from bad to good.

I didn't really like it, it wasn't for me.

The lighting was forced and the composition was staged rather than being allowed to occur naturally. The camera work was too artificial for me, they should have let the camera do the work.

There's not much to spoil. Weird shit happens in a suburb in argentina, people begin to die, turns out it's just monsters that live in a different vibrational frequency than us or some shit (it's never explained in full) so you can't actually see them; a cop and a couple of paranormal investigators go there to investigate, they all get murdered or assimilated by the monsters, literal jump scare finale, the end.
