I think it'd be De Niro, Day-Lewis, Seymour Hoffman, Pacino, Nicholson, and then maybe Joaquin Phoenix among more modern actors.

All The President's Men holds up and I like Lenny. But The Graduate, Tootsie, Midnight Cowboy, and Kramer vs. Kramer have got to be the most outdated shit. And it's not like his other 70s pics, like Marathon Man or Straw Dogs or whatever are exactly cherished today.

While people still applaud Gregory Peck and To Kill A Mockingbird, Shatner went for the jugular in that same year (1962) with a far harder hitting film that was almost forgotten about.
