Why are Americans so averse to history?
Bong reality shows on a history channel

Ruth Goodman is my waifu. I love a woman who isn't afraid of getting her hands dirty.
They have any, theyre a relatively new country.
do americans not get these shows also?
seems weird
for me, it's watching episodes of timeline on youtube
>not storage hunters
Why even bother?
>Truck drivers
Why do Boomers love those shows so much
>EXTREME ARCTIC OPAL-HUNTING LOBSTER TRUCKERS
Programming on ""History"" channel.
history.com
Peter and Alex have such a great bro chemistry. Very comfy show.
we have PBS and smithsonian, nat geo, smithsonian, discovery, and the science channel. those are the premium cable channels though, so redneck americans and europeans dont get those or know about them
The history channel here in the states used to be better. though it was a lot of ww2 focused shit that was straight up propaganda there was also other interesting stuff here and there. The reality tv craze of the 2000s totally destroyed that. Now it’s just truck drivers, miners, loggers, fisherman etc shows. It’s not even good either they’re horribly overproduced.
I’m guessing the shows you’re talking about is on public tv? There’s some great stuff on PBS here, like the men burns documentaries.
it's because you can churn out valueless garbage for cheap to air ads on at a larage profit margin
I'm not saying television was necessarily great beforehand, but what reality tv did to cable is like your wife fucking one of your friends. burn it down, it's fucking shit now
Just looked up the uk one, I haven't had it in 10 years
seems just as bad but they seem to be filler mixed in with some actual history
It's the same reason why American nature documentaries are borderline unwatchable
>we have PBS and smithsonian, nat geo, smithsonian, discovery, and the science channel.
They are all garbage of various degrees.
>Discovery
Well, I'm a Europoor, and like 5 years ago Viasat History channel was full with actual history programs, including Brit bong ones. Now it's also starting to be filled up with ayliums. Shit's depressing.
Id rather have a million shitty garage sale shows to ignore than some faggy Roman construction show to ignore while also being compelled by the state to pay for the privilege to watch said shows while also funding propaganda
Discovery has like 5 channels
Good goy. Fuck history, better send another billion of aid to your Middle Eastern (((allies))).
>watch history show where they unearth some viking mass grave
>go through weapons and skellies buried there
>find skull with perfectly square hole in the middle of forehead
>big chunk of the episode revolves around trying to figure out what weapon caused the hole
>turns out it was pointy bit at the back of the axe, he was probably trying to sneak up behind someone and took a big wack from some other guy swinging
Corrr now that's the stuff
the history channel doesn't get that money
Just the bbc for tv and radio since no ads, its outdated because you don't have to watch tv any more and you are not stuck with 4 channels if you do and they don't own the actual infrastructure anymore
>countries being invaded
>At least I still have my comfy Roman architecture show
I wish we got more shit about actual wars. Even MilHis is just shows dedicated to technology.
