How do you find Rick and Morty funny?

It wasn't funny but it was a returning gag and ig you force something hard enough people are beginning to get used to/ expect it. Eventually it became hilarious that they are so committed to this shitty joke.

They were 12?

We were all in the third grade and our parents were retards.

It was the 90s, you could get away with dumb humor that had nothing to sell but its own stupidity. It didn't need to PREACH a MESSAGE or have any real POINT to it. It was just a dumb little joke for a joke's sake. They were simpler times.

it's called a running gag.

Wow what an insight. You should do Married With Children and All In The Family next

this was before every other [adult swim] show was just animated massacres like Metalocalypse, Super Jail, Mr. Pickles, so it was funny because it was shocking.

It's more like the Simpson's couch gag than actual attempts at humor. "I wonder how they will kill Kenny in this episode?" They stopped doing it when they realized it was a pretty dumb premise since the whole joke was about the episodic nature of television shows where everything goes back to normal even if someone dies

when I was 10 I bought a turtle neck with kenny embroidered on it

>olden days
zoom much?

Duckman did it first

It's amazing how far the show has fallen.

1997 was 23 yeas ago gramps

2 decades

This. It was novel to see a kindergartner get eviscerated back then.

you're not fooling anyone

when did it start? season 10?
Simpsons did it first

When did they stop Killing Kenny?

To me, South Park starts becoming garbage after season 6. I hate that they took Cartman's fat fuck voice away. Now he just sounds like a fag.

the end of season 5. they did an episode where he gets a terminal illness and they treat his death really seriously. then he gets replaced by butters for season 6 (and then tweek replaces butters halfway through the season) and comes back at the end.
he still dies but very rarely.

dude we were all 8 years old

So you guys were all allowed to watch South Park when it was new?
That explains a lot.

my dad put a tv in my room when i was 10, it's part of the reason my parents ending up hating eachother and my mum was totally right. it was a fucking mistake big time.

It was edgy and shouldn't have been on tv. You're autistic if you cant put basic shit in context

ohh so just like sneed works

I dont get it

>hey you guys I'm so fucking fat like seriously
yeah now that you've mentioned that I can hear it. he used to sound huskier.

I wasn't

the show made me a little rebel and I put the tv on past bed time

fuck you mom and dad

we used to watch eurotrash together because he thought it was hilarious that clear it up a bit?

Not at all

young kids shouldn't be able to watch whatever they want at all hours of the night.

>tfw had a TV in my room for a year
>had shit reception so couldn't watch TV but still had my PS2
>a year before high school so had no cares in the world
>grabbing DVDs at blockbuster and a pizza to eat at home
Life will never be as comfy again

The part I looked forward to the most was how they would kill kenny in the episode

I think my all time favorite was getting crushed by an elevator in the Fingerbang episode

i like the christmas ep where he doesn't die and breathe a sigh of relief at the end.

I just remembered I had to chuck it out because the speakers blew. I got a laptop a couple years later but it wasn't the same...

I wasn't but I was allowed to watch Wonder Showzen

My favourite was when Timmy gives Kenny's clothes to Jimmy

truly terrible opinion and this is now a cursed thread

Yes. And it is still funnier than everything post season 10.

Not just the voice but he lost basically everything that made him pic related levels of annoying and thus funny.

Me too
Little rebelions like that likely caused me not going into faggy goth and schoolshooter fases

Because gore was a new thing. Now it's boring Family Guy filler.

>the 'holocaust' camp episode where the little girl is hiding in the toilets
>begs cartman not to tell them she's there or she'll be killed
>cartman doesn't alert the guard because he wants to take a shit on her first
>catching up to the guard to tell on her
fucking classic

"This is a cartoon for kids?"

holy shit that image is a perfect fit for early-seasons cartman

I just realized Kenny's front view is like a vaginal with beef flaps, and his side view is like an uncircumcised cock.

it's just edgy slapstick
there isn't a crafted joke
it's like an adult version of wile e coyote

nigger logic.

yeah it sucks and is boring but you establish it and then riff on it and you occasionally pull something pretty good.

All of the above, and Kenny in the first few episodes dies hilariously. My favourite death of his is in "Weight gain 4000", pic related.

There was once a time when violence in cartoons broke new ground. People were like "wow, blood in a cartoon! I've never seen that before."

Before then we only had loony toons violence which was considered for children.

it was something new and fresh, same way people found Al Bundy refusing fucking his wife funny

Unironically watched it off of taped-off-of-TV VHS copies, lent to me by friends who had cable.

It's stuff like this that made me who I am today

>not downloading your 30mb SP episode from Napster
many times turned out to be porn

also took like a day to finish

South Park shirts were banned at my school.

>go to hippie arts elementary school
>12 at the time
>talking to younger friend about the episode where Randy jacks off to porn and there's cum all over him
>teacher overhears
>says she's seen that episode and that it's hilarious
I didn't realize it at the time, but this was a massive red flag that my teacher was a liberal retard.

hull?

Bane?

Adults were even stupider back in the 90s, more so than today even.

I remember not being allowed to watch it and my family having a moral panic because my aunt said she heard a kid killed himself because he saw how Kenny could just keep coming back, so he thought he would come back too.

no one did. people just watched it because of the bad words

Kenny's early deaths made me feel very bad.

Attached: sad sushi.jpg (640x520, 55K)

They didn’t even make Trump jokes back then, literally unwatchable

don't feel bad user he always comes back.
