Source material is about a bunch of 11/10 charismatic dudes trying to oneup each other over reading subtle facial expressions and tells.
The additional character monologue means the audience sorta get what was going on, and it worked. But if you really wanted to take it to the big screen, each scene would have to be rewritten to use some kind of visual storytelling language to get the point across.

Book screenplay 1:1 is going to be terrible for that exact reason. Meanwhile Messiah of Dune is about the same, but Paul is also jedi prescient, so it goes even further than that.
Children of Dune have 2 9 year old kids running around doing that, plus murdering gigantic bioengineered tigers.
God Emperor of Dune would be pure Kino if this adaption manage to make it that far, with some kind of visual storytelling language.

Bonus:
Dune is the driest story one can read about politics, but when you try to summarize it becomes the wildest thing. Thats true for all the books.

Im seriously not understanding how they will adapt it properly in 2020 without either changing a lot, dumbing it down and making it a more traditional star wars story or doing some kind of visual story telling which will leave plebs in the dust. No matter what I dont see it being a big box office hit but hopefully it will make enough so that they can make it all the way to god emperor
