redux adds two pointless scenes, boomers and psueds will disagree
I can never recall the differences by the time I rewatch it, but I hear the go-to is the standard version and not Redux. That said, having watched both, I don't recall anything dragging particularly which I believe is the complaint.
You should always see the theatrical cut first
I like Wagner, and just could not help but cringe at that section of the movie where Ride of the V. is used. Just use ACDC or something more appropriate when using napalm.
Boomer here, I do disagree. Redux is great.
Worse than the theatrical cut.
in real life they played this youtube.com
>Just use ACDC or something more appropriate when using napalm.
t. ADD fag who watches movies on x1.75
Theatrical was better in every way. I hated Redux
Kino. Sounds like the OST at points.
youtube.com
>outing yourself as a zoomer in the very first post
yikes, this goes straight to r/suicidebywords!
Redux has tits
Reminder that the movie is a loop
I wonder why this is almost never discussed. Teenagers are too busy screaming "Redux! Theatrical!", probably.
Watch the theatrical version, Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker's Apocalypse documentary then the redux.
Redux blows
Prefer redux. I don't mind long movies and I disregard the ''breaks pacing'' argument. I don't think theatrical has good pacing either.
I like that they're having a scene of respite in a place so disconnected that its madness seems bigger than the situation they're actually in, and you feel a sense of relief when they're back on the boat again.
Lol I love it when suddenly it ain't me starts playing
>that whole segment with the French people
I mean come on did we really need that
I mean it's somewhat interesting as some kind of intermission, it just doesn't fit in the film is all.
the only problem with the theatrical is that Clean just disappears after he dies while Chief gets a "burial" later
Boomer here. The plantation scene was totally unnecessary so for that reason alone, the theatrical version is better. What's the 2nd scene that was added?
the playboy helicopter with the playmates
but there are more scenes, like the surfboard, and Kurtz reading Time magazine
those 2 are just the longest sequences
They find the playboy bunnies chopper is out of fuel and they trade two barrels for two hours with the girls.
Pretty dumb desu
Is that the scene where they show up at that Outpost and the soldiers are acting like absolute savages stealing each other's clothes and being wildmen. If so I actually like that scene because it captures just how fucking broken these guys are as they approach the Cambodian (I think) border
Redux>Final Cut>Theatrical cut
I don't know if you mean this
based retard
I think so.
it is dumb that Willard would trade fuel to give happy time to the crew since he didn't give a shit about anything else but the mission throughout the rest of the movie
Its a remnant of more directly adapting Heart of Darkness.
Just the shittiest taste.
The playboy scene is great.
The plantation scene is slow but it gives the movie a more methodical pace. I like it.
Redux is trash
All copies should be destroyed
