I really like The Witch, there’s really no other movies besides The Crucible in that time period (which is really about a generation later).
It’s a great setting for a horror story and they’re literally on the edge of the world.

They are McDonald's arthouse for a reason, people who feel like they are too smart for Hollywood blockbusters but can't be bothered to do research or actually watching a wide selection of films
